'Looters around Buhari buried their own loot in Aso Rock', says Gov. Fayose

Those around Buhari buried their own loot in Aso Rock
The governor of Ekiti state, Mr Ayodele Fayose has alleged that some people close to President Muhammadu Buhari buried loot in the presidential villa in Abuja.

Gov. Fayose made the claim in response to the statement of Lai Mohammed, minister of information and culture, that looters have resorted to burying stolen funds in their backyards, deep forests and burial grounds.

Mohammed said this while saying whistleblowing policy of the federal government had been yielding results.

But in a statement issued on his behalf by Lere Olayinka, his spokesman, Fayose said Mohammed was only trying to play on the intelligence of Nigerians.

“Looters in the Muhammadu Buhari’s presidency, especially those being compensated for funding the election of the president in 2015 bury their own loot in the villa with presidential protection,” he said in a statement.

“Should it be wrong for other supposed looters that do not have presidential protection like the All Progressives Congress (APC) looters to bury their loots in burial grounds probably for spiritual protection?

“Nigerians can no longer be fooled with stage-managed loots recoveries, with no traceable owners (looters), especially when the loots are traceable to close associates of the president and his cabinet members.

“Obviously, this so-called anti-corruption war has become a laughing stock with N49 million found in Kaduna Airport, N448 million discovered in a shop at Victoria Island, Lagos and N13 billion found in Ikoyi, Lagos neither having owners nor the identities of owners of the property where the money was found known.”

Fayose claimed that it is either the recovered monies belong to those around Buhari or the government planted them “to sustain its fake anti-corruption fight”.

“It is either the money belongs to members of Buhari’s government or it is being planted by the government to sustain its fake anti-corruption fight in the minds of the people,” he said.

“Enough of stage-managed and fake anti-corruption war aimed solely at opposition figures, especially presidential hopefuls in the 2019 election.”

The governor alleged that two different laws were now being operated in the country, saying one is for the APC and those who decamp to the party and the other for the opposition, especially those perceived as having presidential ambition.

“The narrative they push daily is that only those in their government are saint while other Nigerians, including those in the national assembly, judiciary, opposition politicians and the civil servants are rogues while only Buhari’s appointees are saints,” he said.

“To worsen matters, the cluelessness of the APC government in the last two years has plunged the country into debt without anything to show.

“The cabals in the presidency are also taking advantage of the president’s state of health, which is as a result of his age to oppress Nigerians.

“Nigerians must therefore keep their eyes on the ball and not be carried away by the orchestrated distractions aimed at preventing them from seeing how the APC led government has failed woefully.”

He called on the international community to hold Nigeria accountable on the recovered N13 billion cash found in that Ikoyi, Lagos apartment saying; “this must not be swept under the carpet.”

Rotimi Amaechi files N500m suit against Fani-Kayode, Fayose’s spokesman over seized $43m:

Rotimi Amaechi, minister of transportation, has filed a N500 million suit against Femi Fani-Kayode, a former minister of aviation, and Lere Olayinka, spokesman of Ayo Fayose, governor of Ekiti state.

The duo had accused Amaechi of owning the $43 million which the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) found in a Lagos residence.

In separate letters to Fani-Kayode and Olayinka, Lateef Fagbemi, counsel to Amaechi, said the allegations his client were false.

Fagbemi said his client has never owned a home in Lagos state, and that the “misleading information” was capable of tarnishing Amaechi’s reputation.

“The story as uploaded by you is to our knowledge, blatantly false, malicious and is aimed at impeaching the credit of our client, a two-time speaker of the Rivers state of house of assembly, a two-time governor of Rivers state and current minister of the federation,” read a letter sent to both men.

“Our client neither owns the house where the cash was found and your story and claim are unfounded.”

Amaechi’s counsel said the publication constitutes a libel and is defamatory “aimed at impinging our client’s character and credit in the eyes of Nigerians and foreigners.”

Speaker of the House of Rep. sends strong warning to federal government ahead of 2018

Speaker of the House of Rep. sends strong warning to federal government ahead of 2018

The speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has called on the federal government to wait till after 2019 elections before conducting the population census.

Dogara said there will be no political pressure to manipulate the outcome of the census if it was conducted after the general elections, Premium Times reports.

The speaker gave the warning in a statement issued by his special adviser on media and public affairs, Turaki Hassan, on Monday, April 17, in Abuja.

According to the speaker conducting population census in an election year may generate unrealistic results.

He advised that the next administration should conduct the census at the beginning of its tenure when there isn’t so much at stake.

"I won’t advise anyone to conduct national census in 2018. I said it before that if we are not going to achieve it in 2017, then we should just forget it until after 2019.

“If you conduct census at the niche of elections, there will be so much pressure, crisis and the lure for people to manipulate the figures for political reasons.

“It is better for a fresh administration to conduct this exercise from the beginning of that administration when we do not have any pressure of elections in sight.”

“I can bet you if the census is conducted in 2018, the outcome will be doubtable.”

“Seriously speaking, because I know who we are and I know the kind of litigations, backlashes, the pressure and we don’t need that now to be candid," Dogara said.

Dogara noted that it is better to empower the population commission and other agencies to keep building on the blocks that they will leverage on in the future.

Meanwhile, the proposed 2018 national population census will cost an estimated N272 billion, the Director-General of the National Population Commission (NPC), Dr Ghaji Bello, has said.

Bello told a correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in New York that the Federal Government was expected to fund the exercise by only 51 per cent while the international donor community would fund the remaining 49 per cent.

Dr Bello also said the National Population Census will hold in 2018 if necessary logistics are provided.

Facebook suspect Steve Stephens hunted in five states
Investigators in Ohio say a gunman who shot a grandfather on the street apparently at random and posted the footage on Facebook could be anywhere.

The suspect, Steve Stephens, said in another video post that he had killed 13 people and would kill more.

He shot dead 74-year-old Robert Godwin as the victim reportedly walked home from Easter lunch on Sunday afternoon.

They said that Mr Stephens, who has a licence to carry a concealed firearm, is probably still armed and dangerous.

Nine schools in Philadelphia were placed on lockdown on Monday after police received multiple calls reporting a possible sighting of Mr Stephens.

Police have yet to verify the reports.

His mobile phone signal was last tracked on Sunday afternoon in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Cleveland Police Chief Calvin Williams said in a press conference on Monday morning: "Steve is still out there some place… we're still asking Steve to turn himself in, but if he doesn't we'll find him."

FBI Special Agent Stephen Anthony said: "Quite frankly, he could be in a lot of places." >>>>

North Korea 'will test missiles weekly', senior official tells BBC

This April 15, 2017 picture released from North Korea's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on April 16, 2017 shows North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un (C) arriving for a military parade in Pyongyang marking the 105th anniversary of the birth of late North Korean leader Kim Il-Sung. /

North Korea will continue to test missiles, a senior official has told the BBC in Pyongyang, despite international condemnation and growing military tensions with the US.

"We'll be conducting more missile tests on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis," Vice Foreign Minister Han Song-Ryol told the BBC's John Sudworth.

He said that an "all-out war" would result if the US took military action.

Earlier, US Vice-President Mike Pence warned North Korea not to test the US.

He said his country's "era of strategic patience" with North Korea was over.

Mr Pence arrived in Seoul on Sunday hours after North Korea carried out a failed missile launch.
Tensions have been escalating on the peninsula, with heated rhetoric from both North Korea and the US.

Mr Han told the BBC: "If the US is planning a military attack against us, we will react with a nuclear pre-emptive strike by our own style and method."

Local Govt. boss fires Dino Melaye of staging assassination attempt on his life

LG boss accuses Sen. Melaye of staging assassination attempt on his life

The Administrator of Ijumu LGA of Kogi State, Toufiq Isah, has accused Senator Dino Melaye of stage managing the attack in order to cause unnecessary tension in the local government.
It will be recalled that the senator representing Kogi West Senatorial district escaped an assassination attempt made on his life by yet to be identified gunmen at his country home in Aiyetoro-Gbede in Ijumu LGA.

His building was riddled with bullets while two vehicles were destroyed. Melaye accused of Isah of being being the attempt on his life.

Addressing newsmen on Monday at his country home in Okoro-Gbede, Isah also called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the presidency to investigate how Melaye allegedly diverted items meant for Internally Displaced People (IDP) last December.

The council boss, who is also chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON) in the state, said it was unfortunate that Melaye twisted the story and accused him of planning to kill him.

He said he only heard that the senator entered the Ayetoro with policemen shooting gun sporadically to scare people, wondering why he turned around to claim that he was attack.

He said as chief security officer of the council his responsibility is always to protect the lives and property of the people in the area, noting that if Melaye could not improve on the living standard of the people of Ijumu he should allow them to have peace instead of causing unnecessary distraction. Isah called on the EFCC to probe the IDPs materials he usurped and packed in his house. "I am using this medium to call on the EFCC and the Presidency to investigate how items meant for IDPs in the north eastern parts of the country got to the hand of a Senator who ordinarily supposed to contribute to ameliorate the suffering of the people.

“The items according to information were packed in his house at Ayetoro- Gbede. EFCC should also investigate and unravel staff of NEMA who might aid and abate Dino in that shody deals” he said.
"If you go to some villages within our local government area, there is high dearth of basic social amenities, Governor Bello’s led administration had made it compulsory to all the councils administrators to go down to the hinterland and touch people’s lives positively through the new direction agenda of the government and that is exactly what I am doing in my council area"

Breaking: Chelsea John Terry to leave club at end of season

Chelsea John Terry to leave club at end of season

Chelsea captain John Terry will leave the club at the end of the season after more than two decades there.

He is their most decorated individual, with four Premier League titles, one Champions League, five FA Cups, a Europa League and three League Cups.

He has made 713 Chelsea appearances since his 1998 debut - 578 as captain.

"I feel I still have plenty to offer on the pitch but understand that opportunities here at Chelsea will be limited for me," Terry, 36, said.

Centre-back Terry, who has scored 66 goals for the club he joined as a 14-year-old, has made just four Premier League starts this season.

He is the club's third highest all-time appearance maker, behind Ron Harris and Peter Bonetti, and holds the club record for appearances as captain.

Terry, who made his debut for Chelsea as a 17-year-old in a 1998 League Cup match, has gone on to score 40 Premier League goals in his 19 years at Stamford Bridge.

He has played almost all of his career at Chelsea, other than six loan appearances for Nottingham Forest in 2000.

"I will, of course, always be a Blue and am desperate to end my final season as a Chelsea player with more silverware," said Terry, whose team have a four-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

"I've always been conscious that I depart at the right time, in the right way, and I feel that the end of this season is the right time for the club and I."

Terry, the club and Premier League's top-scoring defender, is one of just five defenders to have won the PFA Player of the Year award.

Chelsea John Terry to leave club at end of season

He retired from international football in 2012 after winning 78 England caps and signed a one-year contract extension with the Blues in May 2016.

"I'm eager to carry on playing and so will be looking to continue with a new challenge," Terry added.

"Words cannot describe the love I have for our football club and our amazing Chelsea fans. You mean the world to me and I will never forget the incredible journey we've been on."

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia said: "He will always be held in the highest regard by everybody at Stamford Bridge and we look forward to welcoming him back in the future."

Terry made his debut as a 17-year-old against Aston Villa in the League Cup in October 1998, and scored his first goal for the club in an FA Cup sixth-round tie against Gillingham in 2000.

However, the following year Terry was one of four Chelsea players fined two weeks' wages by the club following their behaviour at a hotel in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks in the United States.

He was integral to the Blues claiming both the Premier League title and the FA Cup in 2009-10, making more than 50 appearances as Chelsea became just the seventh club to do the double.

However, he was twice stripped of the England captaincy, before being banned for four matches and fined £220,000 for racially abusing QPR defender Anton Ferdinand, meaning he missed the Champions League final where the Blues lifted the trophy.

He recovered to score four goals in 35 league appearances as Chelsea claimed the Premier League title in 2014-15, but has found his playing time limited under Antonio Conte.

BIAFRA: Our actions are legal within Nigerian law - IPOB

BIAFRA: Our actions are legal within Nigerian law - IPOB

THE Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, said, weekend, that its actions towards the restoration of Biafra were legal within the ambits of the Nigerian law.

Reacting to an interview by an elder statesman, Alhaji Tanko Yakassai, published in a national newspaper, Media and Publicity Secretary of IPOB, Mr. Emma Powerful, said it was unfortunate that many Nigerians had failed to realize that IPOB was unstoppable in its quest to actualize Biafra.

He said: “What IPOB under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is doing is completely legal and backed 100 per cent by Nigerian law.

“The fact that President Muhammadu Buhari decided to launch what can be described as malicious persecution of Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB, does not make it illegal. Again, a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja had on February 6, 2017 declared IPOB a legal organization.

“We are aware that Alhaji Tanko Yakassai was misinformed about the situation on the ground concerning the moves going on towards the restoration of Biafra. He and his fellow Nigerians must know that IPOB is unstoppable because we will continue to die for Biafra, until Biafra is restored.

“It is unfortunate that an elderly man like Yakassai cannot tell the correct history to the young ones, but rather deceiving the gullible people. No divide and rule tactics can come between Biafra and the people because they have one value system, culture, tradition and religion.”

He wondered why Yakassai did not see anything wrong with the geographical expression called Nigeria, blaming the situation on the late Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe who, he said, allowed himself to be tricked and used by the then British government to keep Nigeria one.

According to him, Biafra existed before Nigeria was created in 1914 by Frederic Luggard, arguing that as every product made by man has an expiry date and must come to an end, Nigeria would end, while Biafra would remain.

While insisting that    what IPOB was doing was beyond the powers of man because it was predicted over 400 years ago, he boasted that there would be no negotiation of any sort unless the government released Nnamdi Kanu and other members detained in prisons and security cells across the country.

FBI declares Nigerian wanted for alleged $5 million email scam

FBI declares Nigerian wanted for alleged $5 million email scam
The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has declared Kelechi James, a Nigerian, wanted for emails scam.

The American agency made this known in a statement by its New York office.

The statement said the suspect along with four other co-conspirators, ran a business e-mail compromise scheme that resulted victim losses of more than $5 million for their victims.

The FBI also offered a $1,000 reward for information that could lead to his arrest.

“FBI agents are looking for the public’s assistance in locating Kelechi Declan James. He has federal criminal charges against him from an investigation by FBI New York’s Cyber Crime Task Force,” the statement read.

“James is known to frequent the Brooklyn neighborhoods of East New York (Crescent Street and Loring Avenue; Vermont Street between Blake Avenue and Dumont Avenue), Brownsville, Bedford-Stuyvesant (MacDougal and Hull Streets), Crown Heights (Park Place and Utica Avenue), Flatbush (E 29th and Avenue D), and East Flatbush (East 51st and Winthrop Street). The FBI is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to his arrest.

“James is 32 years old, 6’0″ tall, and approximately 175 pounds. He is a Nigerian national, has brown eyes and black hair, and may have a beard. Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of James is urged to contact law enforcement immediately. The FBI can be reached 24 hours a day at (212) 384-1000. He is not considered to be violent in nature.

“As alleged in a complaint sworn out of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, James, along with four other co-conspirators, ran a business e-mail compromise scheme that resulted victim losses of more than $5 million for their victims.

“As part of scheme, James and his co-conspirators defrauded victims across the U.S. by tricking them into wiring money to bank accounts the victims believed were owned by family members, friends, or business associates. They did this in two ways: by overtaking an e-mail account of an individual trusted by the victim and then requesting money be wired to a bank account; or by developing a relationship of trust with victim like an Internet romance and then asking the victim to wire money. As soon as the money was wired, it would be moved from one account to another, and the funds would be withdrawn. James’s role in this scheme was to withdraw the money from bank accounts.

TOPIC: Ready For Judgment Day

TODAY: Monday April 17, 2017

BIBLE TEXT: Revelation 20:1-15

KEY VERSE: "And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them" (Revelation 20:11).

Many live as if they would not give account for their actions and conducts in this world. Driven by selfish interests, they act as if they no longer have a conscience. They defy constituted authority; they trample on the rights of other people. And most times, they get away with their actions. But it will not always be so: a day of reckoning will eventually come once you shut your eyes in death.

On that day, there will be no hiding place for anyone, irrespective of class and status, material well-being and popular acclaim. Once the judgment throne of God is set, all men that ever lived on earth, both small and great, would heed the inescapable summons to appear before God and be judged. All will stand before the Great White Throne to account for their actions and inactions while alive. Those who died in the sea, those who were burnt to death, those who met their end naturally, will be summoned to appear before the Great Judge of all the universe.

He will judge all according to what is written in two sets of books that will be set before Him. The first book to be opened, the Book of Life, will contain the names of all those who did right before God. He will reward them with an eternity of peace, rest, joy and happiness. Everyone else whose names are contained in the second set of books will each be judged according to their evil and wicked acts while here on earth. Anyone whose name is not contained in the Book of Life will be cast into the lake of fire. God’s judgment will be different from that of men. No one can bribe or influence his way through it. All wrongs will be justly punished, all rights will be justly rewarded.

The time to determine what you will receive on that day is now. You do so by how you live, how you relate to others, and how you relate to God. If you have been fumbling in life, rising and falling into sin, the time to change is now. You must quickly turn away from all those evils, plead with God to pardon and cleanse you with the blood of Jesus.

Thought for the day: God’s judgment is but a shouting distance away.

The Ability To Believe - Billy Graham

TOPIC:The Ability to Believe

TODAY: Monday April 17, 2017

KEY VERSE: . . . believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead . . . — Romans 10:9

It is impossible to believe anything into existence. The Gospel did not come into being because men believed it. The tomb was not emptied of Christ’s body that first Easter because some faithful persons believed it. The fact preceded the faith. We are psychologically incapable of believing without an object of our faith.

The object of Christian faith is Christ. Faith means more than an intellectual assent to the claims of Christ. You are not called upon to believe something that is not credible, but to believe in the fact of history that in reality transcends all history. Faith actually means surrender and commitment to the claims of Christ. We do not know Christ through the five physical senses, but we know Him through the sixth sense that God has given every man—the ability to believe.

Prayer for the day: As I keep my eyes on You, Lord, my faith does not waver. Too often I look down and stumble. Let me comprehend today afresh the power that raised You from the dead.

Scripture: …the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. Revelation 12:12b

Thought For The Day: Every day that passes draws us closer to the end of the age.

The Scripture makes it clear that the world will come to end one day. From the rampancy of strange events in the world today, it is apparent that we are already in the last days of the world. The world is climaxing to an end. Every day that passes draws us closer to the end of the age.

The truth is, since the devil knows that he has but a short time, there is an escalation of satanic activities. This is not to scare us but to make us take heed to ourselves and escape eternal damnation. It is to make us live ready for Christ’s soon coming.

One of the devil’s weapons in this end time is the multiplicity of wickedness or loveless-ness in the hearts of people. Today, you see brothers killing brothers; a child taking the life of the mother that gave birth to him; a young man at the peak of his life being suddenly cut short by witchcraft arrow of death. What a wicked world!

The aim of satan is to cut lives short especially when they are not prepared for heaven.

My counsel is, determine to keep the love of God alive in your heart; love for God and love for people. When you do that, you have defeated the satanic device of the end time.

You will not end up in hell, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Every day that passes draws us closer to the end of the age.

Assignment (S):
1. Always live in the consciousness that we are in the last days.
2. Determine to fill your heart daily with love for God and love for people.
3. Adjust whatever needs to be adjusted in your life in order to be fit for rapture.

Prayer: LORD, thank You for Your Word to me today. I make demands on Your grace not to be a victim of satanic agenda in this end time. Overwhelm my heart with love for You and for people O LORD, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: Ruled By Mammon?

TODAY: Monday April 17, 2017

Memorise: For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1st Timothy 6:10

Read: 1st Timothy 6:6-11 (KJV)

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

Bible in one year: Numbers 4, Jeremiah 15:1-9, Hymn: Sing hymn 9

A crafty and complex form of idolatry in our world today, which has been around for a long while, and yet seems to go unnoticed by most people, is the reverence and premium place given to the god of money (Mammon) in the hearts of mankind. Our Lord Jesus was very clear when He started what the first and greatest commandment was in Matthew 22:36:

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”

When our love, which should be given to God exclusively, is diverted to money, we err from the faith and expose ourselves to dissatisfaction and many sorrows. The Bible in Ecclesiastes 5:10 say,

“He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with sliver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.”

I am sometimes puzzled as to why people run after vanity. In some countries of the world, government officials embezzle billions from their sovereign wealth and cart their loot away to foreign lands. Some of these officials have become even “richer” than their country by this act. One wonders what they would do with all this stolen money.
Nothing reasonable for sure! For such people, money has become their god, and so they worship it to the extent that the more they acquire, the more difficult it becomes for them to spend. Find out from some so-called rich people, they find it difficult to spend their millions. They eat like paupers because money is their god. In today’s Bible reading, the Holy Spirit offers us a way out of Mammon’s bondage. He said:

“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.”
1st Timothy 6:6-8

Beloved and fellow pilgrims, our stay here on earth is too short for us to run after Mammon. Let us follow the Master intimately, because He is the only One that would always stand by us, even after we close our eyes in death. If you worship Mammon, once you breathe your last breath, Mammon would immediately change servants. Let us be wise and fellow after godliness.
Prayer Point
Father, please fill my heart with godliness and contentment. Grant me the grace to love You more than anything else in this world.
