China has agreed to 'take action on North Korea', as U.S navy strike group sails to Korean peninsula

China has agreed to 'take action on North Korea', as U.S navy strike group sails to Korean peninsula
This could yet be another landmark political victory for U.S President Donald Trump as Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has revealed that the Chinese president has agreed that action must be taken on North Korea, after his meeting with Trump in Florida over the weekend.

North Korea have tested nuclear weapons the last couple of months and even boasted being able to hit the U.S mainland soon.

Mr. Trump before Chinese president Xi Jinping's visit, talked tough about his meeting with the Asian leader in order to reach an agreement that'll favor American trade and reach a compromise on the North Korean situation.

Rex Tillerson has now revealed that China has agreed that action is necessary on North Korea and now U.S Navy strike groups are now sailing towards the western Pacific Ocean, to provide a presence near the Korean peninsula-and attack North Korea if necessary.

US president, Donald Trump early this year said as long as he is president North Korea will never deploy a nuclear missile towards the United States and it seems he is making headway with that promise, as a co-operative China (responsible for 80% of North Korea's trade income) will only make it easier to deal with North Korea and it's dictator Kim Jong Un.
Tillerson told CBS’s Face the Nation

“They had extensive discussions around the dangerous situation in North Korea”.“President Xi clearly understands, and I think agrees, that the situation has intensified and has reached a certain level of threat that action has to be taken,”

''There is a shared view and no disagreement as to how dangerous the situation has become”.
In view of the regional threat now posed by North Korean missile tests and nuclear ambitions, he said, the Chinese “do not believe the conditions are right today to engage in discussions with the government in Pyongyang”.

“We’re hopeful, that we can work together with the Chinese to change the conditions in the minds of the DPRK [Democratic People’s Republic of Korea] leadership. And then, at that point, perhaps discussions may be useful.

“But I think there’s a shared view and no disagreement as to how dangerous the situation has become. And I think even China is beginning to recognise that this presents a threat to even to China’s interests as well.”

The United States' Carl Vinson strike group, which includes an aircraft carrier, has been redirected from Singapore to the western Pacific near the Korean peninsula.

US Pacific Command ordered the Carl Vinson strike group north as a prudent measure to maintain readiness and presence in the western Pacific,” said Commander Dave Benham, spokesman at US Pacific Command.

“The No 1 threat in the region continues to be North Korea, due to its reckless, irresponsible and destabilising programme of missile tests and pursuit of a nuclear weapons capability,”

Text: Psalm 19:1-6

Key Verse: "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork" (Psalm 19:1).

God has not left anyone in doubt as to the revelation of Himself. The inspired writer invites us to look up at the vast sky and behold the mighty sun that adorns the day with its magnificent light, the beautiful moon and the innumerable stars that litter and glitter in the expansive night sky! The sun in the day, in its unalterable course and constancy utters undeniable words, assuring all that the almighty God sits in the heavenly Control Tower, engineering its motion.

The moon and the stars that enter into their bedchambers during the day and show forth their light in the night from time immemorial can never be the handiwork of chance. How could things have been so ordered and so constant? "There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard".

When the sun, like a bridegroom, comes out of its chamber, its magnificent glory setting the vast sky aglow; which language could be more comprehensible to the creatures of God? The blue sea hears it and rejoices. The birds hear it and sing, their clasped wings are spread and they swiftly roam the sky. The game in the woods awake to its splendour to seek after their daily portion.

At the rising of the sun, man, the crown of God’s creation, wakes up to his daily toil. We all hear the distinct speech of the sun when it rings its closing bell at the dusk of the day. When it withdraws into its chamber, we too, seek repose on our beds! The glittering stars and the moon take their turn. The oscillating swing of life’s pendulum day-night, day-night, day-night... continues unabated.

These inanimate sojourners in the heavens above tell of the reality, presence and power of God, a supremely intelligent Creator who controls the course of nature. The heavens declare the glory of God and the entire firmament shows His handiwork.

Thought for the day: God is perfect in counsel, excellent in working.

US President Trump to sell high-tech aircraft to Nigeria

Trump to sell aircraft to Nigeria
The United State is said to be ready to sell high-tech aircraft to Nigeria for its campaign against Boko Haram Islamic extremists.

The Congress according to thewillnigeria.com is expected to receive formal notification setting in motion a deal with Nigeria which the Obama administration had planned to approve at the very end of Barack Obama’s presidency.

The arrangement will call for Nigeria to purchase up to 12 Embraer A-29 Super Tucano aircraft with sophisticated targeting gear for nearly $600 million, one of the officials said.

The officials were not authorized to discuss the terms of the sale publicly and requested anonymity to speak about internal diplomatic conversations.

Though President Donald Trump has made clear his intention to approve the sale of the aircraft, the National Security Council is still working on the issue.

Military sales to several other countries are also expected to be approved but are caught up in an ongoing White House review.

Nigeria has been trying to buy the aircraft since 2015.

Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, said last week that he supported the A-29 deal to Nigeria as well as the sale of U.S.-made fighter jets to Bahrain that had been stripped of human rights caveats imposed by the Obama administration. Under Obama, the U.S. said Bahrain failed to make promised political and human rights reforms after its Sunni-ruled government crushed Arab Spring protests five years ago.

“We need to deal with human rights issues, but not on weapons sales,” Corker said.

Memorise: And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken. - Genesis 21:1

Read: Genesis 18:1-10 (KJV)

1 And the LORD appeared unto him in the plains of Mamre: and he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;

2 And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,

3 And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:

4 Let a little water, I pray you, be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree:

5 And I will fetch a morsel of bread, and comfort ye your hearts; after that ye shall pass on: for therefore are ye come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said.

6 And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth.

7 And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it.

8 And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.

9 And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent.

10 And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him.

Bible in One Year: Leviticus 21-22, Jeremiah 11:9-23

Our God is a benevolent God; He visits an individual, He does not come empty-handed. If you are privileged to receive a visitation from Him, you can be sure you are in for pleasant surprises. My prayer for you is that God in His infinite mercy will visit you today in Jesus’ Name. When Abraham entertained three strange men in his tent, little did he know that they were messengers of the benevolent God. Take a closer look at all the effort Abraham put in just to entertain visitors he could ordinarily have regarded as casual passers-by. Genesis 18:6-7 says,

“6 And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes upon the hearth. 7 And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetcht a calf tender and good, and gave it unto a young man; and he hasted to dress it.”

From this passage, it is obvious that Abraham engaged his entire household in making these visitors comfortable.

There are many lessons you can learn from Abraham’s experience which will make it possible for you to enjoy the blessing of receiving a divine visitation. First, you must be hospitable if you want to experience a divine visitation. Concerning this, the Holy Spirit in Hebrews 13:2 says,

“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”

God visits those who share His attribute of generosity. God is so generous that He gave His only begotten Son as a ransom for our sins. Consequently, He became the Father of millions of people who were once alienated from Him. Secondly, when you are showing generosity or hospitality, you must do it willingly, and not as if you are being constrained to do it.

The angelic visitors would not have waited if they had noticed unwillingness in Abraham, his wife or his men in receiving them. It was after the strange visitors had eaten their fill that they delivered the message they brought from God. Angels don’t eat human food, so how come theses ones ate the food Abraham served them (Genesis 18:8)? This can only be explained by the sovereignty of the Almighty God. They were transformed and given a human nature in order to be able to eat, so as to teach us valuable lessons. One of these lessons is that when God requests for your tithe, offerings or your first-fruits, it is because He wants to set you up for a divine visitation in your business or chosen career. Be wise!

Prayer Point: Father, please visit me with your awesome presence today.
