Janet Jackson Confirms Separation But No Divorce From Husband

Janet Jackson Confirms Separation But No Divorce From Husband
From the Mail reveals that Janet Jackson is separating from her husband Wissam Al Mana. A rep said that the couple are "not divorcing, but separating". In 2013, Janet revealed that they were actually married after the couple got sick of seeing reports about planning their lavish, expensive wedding.

The Together Again singer revealed that they'd tied the knot in a secret ceremony the year before. But now, they have split just months after Janet gave birth to their son, Eissa, becoming a mum for the first time at the age of 50. Janet had changed a lot recently, becoming more reserved after living her life in the public eye for years.

Just last October, a pregnant Janet was seen walking around London, hand-in-hand with Wissam, in an outfit much more modest than her usual get-up. But her husband, Qatari businessman Wissam – worth up to £800million – was thought to be uncomfortable with her overtly sexual image and Janet’s progressive handle on both sexual liberation and her own body. It's said that Janet's friends felt it was her husband who encouraged her to tone her image down.

And it was believed that Janet converted to Islam following their marriage. She has never confirmed or denied that she had become a Muslim – yet she took to frequently ending concerts with the blessing “Inshallah” (if God wills).

Wissam, 42, is CEO of the multinational Al Mana business conglomerate, his net worth reckoned to be four times Janet’s own wealth.

As well as their London house, the couple have homes in Manhattan’s Trump Tower and Qatari capital Doha.It was reported at the weekend that the marriage was ending.

"Sadly, Janet and Wissam have decided that it wasn't working and to go their separate ways," a source told the Mail on Sunday.

Stephen Belafonte's ex vows to team up with Mel B and bring him down

Stephen Belafonte's ex vows to team up with Mel B and bring him down

It appears Mel B is not the only victim of Stephen Belafonte's abuse. She has teamed up with his ex Nicole Contreras who endured similar treatment at his hands and the unlikely tag team are intent on bringing him down and protecting Mel B's £50million fortune.

The pact was agreed after Mel B made a flurry of ‘tearful and emotional’ phone calls to Nicole Contreras.
Stephen Belafonte's ex vows to team up with Mel B and bring him down

They both claim that Hollywood producer and director Stephen Belafonte subjected them to a ruthless campaign of emotional and physical abuse.

Former model, Nicole who has a 13yr old daughter from a six year relationship with Stephen said:
‘I will do anything I can to help Mel in her fight. I know better than anyone what she has gone through because I lived with him for six years and he abused me too. We both went through hell with that man.’

Ms Contreras who is now an LA estate agent claims she is still ‘terrified’ of Belafonte who was accused of beating her up in 2003, but vowed:

‘Mel called me asking for help. She was emotional and tearful. We have spoken multiple times this week. I will do whatever it takes to help her.’

A source said Mel B has hired accountants to examine her financial records for the past decade on the suspicion that Stephen was stealing money.

‘It’s all about money now,’ the source said. ‘Stephen took control of the finances and Mel believes he siphoned off millions.

'Mel knows Nicole will be a powerful ally to have in what will undoubtedly be a vicious and nasty fight ahead.

'Nicole suffered abuse at this man’s hands and she and Mel have vowed to take him down and make sure no other woman is hurt.’

Russia 'failure allowed Syria chemical attack' - US Secretary

Russia 'failure allowed Syria chemical attack'
US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has criticised Russia, saying it had failed to prevent Syria from carrying out a chemical attack on a rebel-held town.

Russia had agreed to ensure Syria's chemical weapons stockpiles were destroyed - and its failure to do this enabled the attack, he said.

G7 foreign ministers are preparing to meet in Italy later on Monday.
Talks will focus on how to increase pressure on Russia to distance itself from Syria's President Bashar Al-Assad.

On Tuesday, Mr Tillerson will continue from the G7 to Moscow, where he will meet his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov.

Russia is the Syrian government's main ally, and helped facilitate a 2013 agreement to destroy Syria's chemical arsenal.

The suspected chemical attack on Khan Sheikhoun last Wednesday left 89 people dead.
In response, the US fired 59 missiles at a Syrian airbase on Friday.

Syria has denied using any chemical agents, and Russia says the US gave no evidence Syria has chemical weapons.

One Confirmed Dead, Scores Injured in Lagos slum Demolition

Demolition in Lagos kills two and injures many
Lagos Demolition: At least one person was yesterday shot dead and scores injured after some men wearing uniforms of the Nigerian Police stormed Otodo-Gbame community in Lekki axis of Lagos State, demolished and set their structures ablaze displacing hundreds of residents left in the riverine community.

The deceased was identified as Daniel Anya while Monday Idowu, who was shot in the chest, is recuperating at the Lagos General hospital.

The State Government had on March 17, demolished several structures in the community, an action that prompted the residents to approach the court to seek injunction that will bar further demolition. Yesterday’s demolition came barely three weeks after the state government tried to justify the demolition of Otodo-Gbame community in Lekki axis, saying the residents were illegal occupants.

About 4,698 residents of the community were displaced.

When Vanguard visited the community, hundreds of evicted residents, who were trapped on the lagoon, were sighted helplessly watching their property being destroyed. Efforts to return to the community proved abortive and men presumed to be from the marine police in the demolition team allegedly prevented them from going back to the land. Vanguard gathered that the attackers included policemen attached to the Lagos State Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences Unit, Marine police and others who stormed the community at about 6:00 am.

Lagos Police Command PRO, Olarinde Famous-Cole however told Vanguard that; “At about 10.30am yesterday , some unknown armed hoodlums, allegedly entered Otodo-Gbame village, Ilasan and fired sporadically. in the process, bullet hit one Elija Avonda, aged 42 yrs, who died on the spot.

‘’His corpse was deposited at morgue for autopsy while manhunt for the fleeing hoodlums has commenced.” Sources said that few minutes after their arrival, the demolition agents allegedly started shooting sporadically in the air to scare residents away. The plight of the displaced residents was further compounded when the rain started; many were sighted including a-week-old baby and several children, under the rain. While one version of the report alleged that two persons were killed by stray bullets and scores injured, another version said that only one person died with another severely injured. It was learned that Anya was hit in the neck by a stray bullet allegedly shot by the security personnel deployed to enforce the eviction by the state government. A resident, Emmanuel Oluwagbemi, disclosed to Vanguard that the deceased, a father of two, died while struggling to save his property from being destroyed.

Another resident, Abdulrahman Sehnu, alleged that the policemen never allowed them remove their property before setting their structures ablaze, disclosing that one Monday Idowu was alleged shot in the chest. The Baale of the community, Chief Hunpe Dansu, lamented that the residents were tear-gassed by the policemen deployed to enforce the state government order.

According to him, “The security men came in speed boat and about two black maria to arrest anyone who kicked against their action. We were forced to escape through the lagoon when we discovered that our plea fell on deaf ears.”

27-year-old woman arrested for leaving her disabled ex-boyfriend in the woods

27-year-old woman arrested for leaving her disabled ex-boyfriend in the woods
A Georgia woman, 27-year-old Ruby Kate Coursey , has been charged with the murder of her ex-boyfriend, 33 year old Troymaine Johnson, according to Upson County Sheriff Dan Kilgore. Coursey has been charged with felony murder and neglect of a disabled adult after allegedly pushing him out of her car and leaving him at a hunting camp to fend for himself.

The GBI Crime Lab determined Johnson’s cause of death was homicide due to hypothermia.

His body was found at the hunting camp in the woods off Triune Mill Road on March 17 – four days after he was last seen.

The sheriff’s office found him after receiving a tip from Coursey's brother and sister-in-law, who told them Coursey said she had left a man in the woods.

At the time, she was taken into custody for an outstanding probation warrant and not charged in his death pending the results of the autopsy.

Troymaine Johnson, a paraplegic who did not have use of his legs and only had partial use of one arm, was last seen alive March 14, when his ex-girlfriend Coursey allegedly picked him up to go for a ride or trip to the store, leaving his wheelchair at home, rather than take him to the store, Coursey allegedly drove to a hunting campground about 70 miles south of Atlanta, left Johnson next to a camper and drove off.

Records show temperatures at that time had plunged into the mid-20s. "Those were some of the coldest nights in recent days," Kilgore said in the release.

When the autopsy result came out, she was charged Monday with murder and neglect of a disabled adult — both felonies.

A motive for the alleged killing was unclear, officials said. Johnson, who was affectionately known as "Troy," was remembered as a talented rapper as well as a funny and kindhearted man, WMAZ-TV reported.
“He could just see somebody and start rapping about them right off the top,” his cousin Sade Owens told the television station.

TOPIC: What Is Most Important?

TODAY: Monday April 10, 2017

KEY VERSE: For if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ must still be dead. And if he is still dead, then all our preaching is useless and your trust in God is empty, worthless, hopeless. . . . The fact is that Christ did actually rise from the dead . . . — 1 Corinthians 15:13,14,20 (TLB)

I was invited to have coffee one morning with Konrad Adenauer before he retired as the Chancellor of Germany. When I walked in, I expected to meet a tall, stiff, formal man who might even be embarrassed if I brought up the subject of religion. After the greeting, the Chancellor suddenly turned to me and said, “Mr. Graham, what is the most important thing in the world?” Before I could answer, he had answered his own question.

He said, “The resurrection of Jesus Christ. If Jesus Christ is alive, then there is hope for the world. If Jesus Christ is in the grave, then I don’t see the slightest glimmer of hope on the horizon.” Then he amazed me by saying that he believed that the resurrection of Christ was one of the best-attested facts of history. He said, “When I leave office, I intend to spend the rest of my life gathering scientific proof of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.” It was the fact of the resurrection of Christ that called the disciples to go out as burning young revolutionaries to change the world of their day. They preached that Christ is alive. This should be our message every day of the year.

Prayer for the day: Father, let my message to others be that of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ and of His ability to change the lives of those who believe in Him.

Ek wrote:

"It is with shock and a heavy heart that I can confirm that Chris Bevington from our Spotify team lost his life in Friday’s senseless attack on Stockholm.

Chris has been a member of our band for over 5 years. He has had a great impact on not just the business but on everyone who had the privilege to know and work with him. There are no words for how missed he will be or for how sad we all are to have lost him like this.
Whilst this terrible news is sinking in, our primary focus is on supporting the family and loved ones of Chris in any way we possibly can.

I am as deeply saddened and upset as all of you that something like this could happen in Sweden. The only light in this deeply tragic moment is the outpouring of love, compassion and solidarity that we have seen from everyone. And that was exactly the kind of person Chris was as well.
We will greatly miss you Chris. Rest in Peace my friend".

Bevington had worked with the company for five years and had served as Spotify’s director of global partnerships/business development, working from Stockholm.

In a statement to the BBC, Bevington’s father, John, said:

“We are all devastated by the untimely and tragic death of our talented, compassionate and caring son Chris. A wonderful husband, son, father, brother and close friend to many.”

On Friday, four people including Bevington, a Belgian and two Swedes, one of which was an 11-year-old girl, were killed and about 15 more were injured when a truck plowed through a shopping area in the heart of Sweden’s capital.

According to CNN, a suspect, a 39-year-old man from Uzbekistan, was arrested hours after the attack on suspicion of terrorism offenses. A second suspect was also reportedly placed under arrest on Sunday in connection with the attack.

The Faith of a Mustard Seed - Dr. Paul Enenche

The Faith of a Mustard Seed - Today's Seeds of Destiny Devotional

Welcome to Seeds of Destiny Daily Devotional written by Dr. Paul Enenche

TOPIC: The Faith of a Mustard Seed

TODAY: Monday April 10, 2017

Scripture: And Jesus said unto them…verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Matthew 17:20

Thought For The Day: If faith must be alive, it must carry God’s Word.

It may be surprising for you to know that mustard seeds have faith. That is what we see from our anchor scripture. We see that mountain-moving faith is the faith of the mustard seed.

Most people do not read this scripture properly; Jesus said, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed… (Matthew 17:20).

Most people think that what Jesus meant is having faith that is as small as the grain of the mustard seed. No! He meant having the kind of faith that the grain of the mustard seed has. The truth is, nobody has ever moved a mountain with small faith.

It takes the faith of the mustard seed to move mountains of limitation like age-long strongholds, generational curses, progress-frustrating obstacles, life-threatening situations, etc.

Now, let us take note of one of the characteristics of the faith of the mustard seed.

It is Faith that is Alive and Active.
The character of the mustard seed is that it carries life.  That is why it germinates and grows.

It is important to know that faith can die (James 2:20…faith without works is dead.) The faith of a mustard seed is faith that is alive with the Word of God. John 6:63 says, it is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the word that I speak unto you they are spirit and they are life. So, the Word of God is life. Therefore, if faith must be alive, it must carry God’s Word.

Remember this: If faith must be alive, it must carry God’s Word.

1. Determine to increase your level of Word intake and expect revelations that will fuel your faith.

2. Endeavour to pray in the Holy Ghost at least one hour daily.

Prayer: O LORD, I receive the grace to grow my faith and keep it alive by Your Word. Open my eyes to see wondrous things out of Your Word, LORD, in Jesus’ Name.

Daily Reading: Deuteronomy 34:1 to Josh 2:24, Luke 13:22 to 14:6, Psalm 79:1 to 13, Proverbs 12:26

The King is Coming - Today's Open Heavens Devotional

TOPIC: The King is Coming

TODAY: Monday 10, April 2017

Memorise: For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: – 1 Thessalonians 4:16

Read: Acts 1:9-11(KJV)

9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Bible in One Year: Leviticus 19-20, Jeremiah 10:17-11:8

One of the reasons why there is spiritual decadence in the Church today is the loss of focus on the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus knew this would happen and for this reason, He gave us the parable of a king who went on a journey to a far country, leaving behind his servants to work and await his return (Luke 19:12-27). Our King is coming back to be the judge of both the living and the dead. As a preview of the nature of the judgement He will declare against those who rejected His Lordship over their lives, Luke 19:27 says,

“But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.”

Beloved, this will not be your portion in Jesus’ Name. However, you must always remember that our King is coming, and you must also remember what He is coming to do. This attribute will guide you on how to comport yourself in readiness for His return. Do not be deceived by the error of those who claim that Jesus Christ will not come again or that He has already come in the spirit. These are all lies of the devil. The angels who addressed the early disciples after Jesus was taken up to Heaven said this to them in Acts 1:11:

“….This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven.”

You can therefore rest assured in your heart that Jesus will surely come back. Our Lord Jesus Christ is coming to put the devil where he belongs (Revelations 20:10). All the angels that fell along with the devil, referred to as demons, will also partake of the eternal damnation that will befall him (Matthew 25:41). Our King is also coming to give rewards to every believer according to his or her works. The Lord in Revelation 22:12 says,

“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.”

Beloved of God, ensure you are one of those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. if your name is already there, work hard to receive commendation and a good reward from the Master. If you labour for the expansion of God’s Kingdom through evangelism and witnessing or through giving and intersession, you can be sure you will not miss your reward when the King returns.

Prayer Point: Father, at the second coming of your Son, Jesus Christ, may I not be put to shame. please give me the grace to be watchful as I live according to your word.
