President Buhari blast Sahara Reporters over allegation

President Buhari has debunked insinuations by some Nigerians that his nephew, Mamman Daura, is in charge of his government. In an interview with Osasu Igbinedion, President Buhari said

“That is from Sahara Reporters. I don’t know where they get their news from. I stood for the election, I visited every local government in Nigeria, I travelled by road, by air, and so on, and we had one of the most credible election. So whoever feels he has lost somehow is his own problem, I have no problem.” he said. Watch the video below;

Miss Anambra 2015 caught having sex with another woman

Just when we thought we have seen the end of this ridiculous, embarrassing show involving the crowned winner of Miss Anambra 2015 competition, Chidinma Okeke, pointers are that we are not yet done.

Some days ago, we posted a video showing the beauty queen engaged in lesbian acts with one of her close friends, a lady known as ‘Ada’. Chidinma was shown in the video using a cucumber to penetrate herself  before Ada came over to help out by smooching and caressing her vagina while she continued the ‘cucumber action’. Ada is said to be a beauty queen too, she was the 3rd runner up of the Queen of Democracy 2014 and she also doubles as Chidinma’s personal assistant.
Chidinma Okeke denied being the one in the video but a new video shows otherwise

After the video had been trending online for a while, Chidinma came out to deny she is the one in the video. She insisted it was photoshopped and her face was super-imposed into the existing pictures. She wrote:
My attention has been drawn to a concocted photograph/ video being circulated in the social media wherein my face was superimposed on an existing picture of persons engaging amorous conduct through the art of photo shopping. This act is perpetrated by hodlums who are out to blackmail me or tarnish my image and promising career by presenting me in bad light. I wish to say that the said image is certainly not mine by any stretch of imagination.
I am a highly responsible person who was brought up in a family with impeccable reputation. I can therefore not subscribe to such act how much more engage in same . Meanwhile I have referred the matter to my lawyer for possible prosecution of the culprits and civil claim. Please be advised to discountenance the said photograph/ video and regard it as handiworks of detractors. Thank you. Okeke Chidinma”

But lots of her followers won’t have any of it as they think she was playing on their intelligence. Well, the blackmailer is unknown yet and the reasons behind him/her releasing the very private video is not known yet. Olofofos claim that the blackmailer is someone from Chidinma’s close circle of friends. And the blackmailer has released the part 2 of the video which is very clear, shows the face of the beauty queen and her PA. The video is about 59seconds long.

20 boyfriends and 20 iPhones: How one Chinese woman bought a house

                                  20 iPhones
Buying a house is generally seen as one of most costly purchases one can make. It's especially true in China, where house prices continue to rise.

Given what a the challenge it can be to get on the property ladder in the country, it's probably no surprise that Chinese social media was buzzing with one particular property story last week.

It started when a blog was published on the popular blogging platform the Tian Ya Yi Du forum, by a person writing under the pseudonym 'Proud Qiaoba'.

Proud Qiaoba penned a tale that, if we hadn't been able to verify it ourselves, would seem like the plot of a pretty average airport romance novel.

The lead character in Proud Qiaoba's account is a colleague, whom Chinese media have dubbed 'Xiaoli' (not her real name).

Xiaoli, a woman from the city of Shenzhen in southern China, asked each of her 20 current boyfriends to buy her a newly launched iPhone 7. She then sold all of the phones to a mobile phone recycling site called Hui Shou Bao for 115,010 Chinese yuan (about £14,000), and used the money to put down a deposit on a house in the countryside.

Proud Qiaoba wrote in the blog post that when Xiaoli showed her new house to their group of friends, they were all very surprised when she revealed how she had managed to obtain the money for the deposit.

"Everyone in the office is talking about this now," wrote Proud Qiaoba, "Who knows what her boyfriends think now this news has become public."

Proud Qiaoba added that Xiaoli "is not from a wealthy family. Her mum is a housewife and her dad is a migrant worker, and she is the oldest daughter. Her parents are getting old and she might be under a lot pressure hoping to buy them a house... But it's still unbelievable that she could use this method!"

Many people on China's microblogging site Sina Weibo have been expressing their surprise at Xiaoli's enterprise and quick work in convincing her 20 lovers to each buy her the latest in Apple's mobile coterie - particularly since the iPhone 7 was only recently launched, on 16 September of this year,

A hashtag which translates as '20 mobiles for a house' quickly began to circulate on Weibo, and became the country's top trend. It has now been used in excess of 13 million times.

Many social media users, like 'small sand is growing', have expressed admiration for Xiaoli.

"I can't even find one boyfriend. She can actually find 20 boyfriends at the same time and even get them to buy her an iPhone 7. Just want to ask her to teach me such skills."

Another, 'TST' praised her enterprising nature, saying that she has "a bright future."

But others haven't been so complimentary.

'Little Bee' wrote that Xiaoli was "the most shameless person".

Others were suspicious and wondered if the whole story was an elaborate product placement for Hui Shou Bao, the mobile phone recycling business.

BBC Trending approached Hui Shou Bao and a company spokesperson confirmed that they had indeed purchased 20 iPhones from a female client at the beginning of October and paid 5,750 Chinese yuan (about £700) for each one.

We put in a request to interview Xiaoli through the company. They responded to our email saying that they had asked their client if she would like to speak to us, but she had declined.

"Her day-to-day life has been affected (from the local media attention) and she doesn't want the media to continue covering this story," they said, "so she has turned down your interview request."

FUNNY!!! What do you think about this photo?

Different people have given different opinions about the woman in this photo that has gone viral. Some say she is still going to harm her child if she breastfeeds, others say she may not have any plans to breastfeed hence she should be allowed to drink. What do you think?

Head of Britain's spy agency says James Bond won't get past the recruitment process in real life

Alex Younger who heads British intelligence agency MI6 has revealed that despite James Bond's many qualities, the fictional spy won't make it into the agency in real life because he doesn’t have the requisite qualities. Speaking to British website Black History Month, he said: “In contrast to James Bond, MI6 officers are not for taking moral shortcuts. In fact, a strong ethical core is one of the first qualities we look for in our staff.

It’s safe to say that James Bond wouldn’t get through our recruitment process and, whilst we share his qualities of patriotism, energy and tenacity, an intelligence officer in the real MI6 has a high degree of emotional intelligence, values teamwork and always has respect for the law… unlike Mr Bond!”

Court refuses to stop Buhari, DSS, AGF over arrested Judges trial

Chief Justice Mahmud Mohammed

A Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday refused to grant an  application filed by a Lagos-based lawyer, Mr. Olukoya Ogungbeje, seeking an order restraining President Muhammadu Buhari, the Department of State Services and others from re-arresting or taking any “untoward action” against five of the eight judges whose houses were recently raided by DSS operatives.

Justice Gabriel Kolawole declined to grant the prayer shortly after Ogungbeje’s counsel, Mr. Ayo Ogundele, moved the ex parte application on Friday.

In his ruling, Justice Kolawole held that he needed to clear his doubts about the locus standi of the plaintiff, among other issues, after hearing arguments of all parties before he could make a pronouncement on the prayer.

The plaintiff had sought in his motion ex parte, “an order of interim injunction restraining the respondents, their agents, servants, privies, men, officers or anybody deriving authority from them by whatever name called from further arresting, intimidating, arresting, inviting, seizing or taking any untoward action against the arrested and affected honourable judges and judicial officers pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.”

The plaintiff had earlier instituted the main fundamental human rights enforcement suit with number: FHC/ABJ/CS/809/2016, on behalf of the affected judges on October 14, 2016.

He sought in the main suit an order awarding N50bn to the affected judges for their harassment, arrest and intimidation by the respondents without recourse to due process of allowing the National Judicial Council to complete its disciplinary process against the judges.

He subsequently filed the ex parte application on October 25, 2016, following his apprehension that the judges arrested in various parts of the country between October 7 and 8, 2016 could be charged and arraigned in court any time soon.

But rather than grant the prayer sought by Ogungbeje in his ex parte application, the judge directed that the motion on notice seeking similar prayer be served on the respondents.

He ordered that five of the six respondents, comprising President Buhari, Director-General of the DSS, Mr. Lawal Daura; the DSS; the Attorney-General of the Federation, Mr. Abubakar Malami; and the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, to appear in court on November 15 to show cause why the interim restraining order sought by the plaintiff should not be granted.

The sixth respondent to the suit is the National Judicial Council.

The judge ordered that the plaintiff’s motion on notice be served on the respondents and that the respondents would be entitled to respond within seven days of being served.

The judge said his refusal to grant the ex parte application did not amount to resolving the issue of locus standi against the plaintiff.

But he noted that he could not grant the plaintiff’s ex parte application because of his doubts about the issue of locus standi considering the provisions of sections 46(1) and 6(6)(b) of the Constitution when read together.

He also noted that none of the concerned judges was joined either as a plaintiff or respondent, while quoting a common saying that a man’s head cannot be shaved behind him.

He added that he must proceed with caution such that the court, “whose officers are in the eyes of the storm” was not seen to be declaring the conduct of the respondents as illegal through a tainted judicial process.

The judge ruled, “The issue of locus standi remains, in my view, the contentious live issue, because the said provision of the fundamental human rights enforcement procedure rules 2009 which the applicant’s counsel averted the court’s attention to can hardly be read and construed as one that can displace the clear provision of section 46(1) when read with section 6(6)(b) of the 1999 Constitution.

“Let it be well understood that I will not at this stage concern with resolving the issue of the locus standi against the applicant.

“I can only do so after full argument would have been heard from both parties.

“The uncertainty of the applicant’s status in this regard, is an issue, which weighs on my mind in being able to proceed in the granting of the interim order sought ex parte.

“I also observed that none of the concerned or affected judicial officers was made a party either as an applicant or as a respondent. It may well be that their joinder is unnecessary but I am guided by a simple saying that you do not shave a man’s head behind him.

“This in my view, even if the reliefs being sought by the applicant would ultimately be beneficial to the interest of the concerned judicial officers, it is too early in the day for this court to reach a decision that the act of the second, third and fourth respondents were unconstitutional and illegal so as to justify a peremptory judicial intervention to prevent the respondents, the first, second, third, fourth and fifth respondents.

“The law avails that when such doubt exists, the court of first instance must thread softly, lest it may be seen, given the peculiar facts and circumstances of this case as contained in the affidavit filed in support, as exercising the part to the judge in its own cause.

“It is my view that the court as the third arm of government of the federation and whose officers are in the eyes of the storm, with regard to the instant suit must proceed with caution that it must not be seen to fight or judicially resolve an act or conduct which may ultimately be adjudged as illegal through a tainted judicial process or decision.

“These are the constraints, which I have and which seem to weigh on my mind by refusing to grant the applicant’s motion ex parte dated and filed on October 25, 2016.”

The DSS had, between October 7 and 8 arrested Justices Sylvester Ngwuta and John Okoro of the Supreme Court; Justice Adeniyi Ademola of the Federal High Court, Abuja, and Justice Muazu Pindiga of the Federal High Court, Gombe Division.

Justice Nnnamdi Dimgba’s residence was also searched but he was not arrested.

Others who were arrested had been placed on suspension by the NJC pending the time President Buhari and the various state governors would approve its recommendation for their sacking. They are a former Chief Judge of Enugu State, Justice I. A. Umezulike, the Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal, Ilorin Division, Justice Mohammed Tsamiya; and judge of the Kano State High Court, Justice Kabiru Auta.

The DSS said it recovered large sums of money in Nigerian and foreign currencies from three of the judges during the raid on the houses of the seven judicial officers.

All the seven of them had since been released on self-recognition by the DSS.

But Ogungbeje’s suit is restricted to five of the arrested judges, who are still in active service, namely, Justices Ngwuta, Okoro, Ademola, Pindiga and Dimgba.

Ogungbeje had on October 14 filed the substantive suit seeking 10 prayers, among which is an order awarding N50bn against the defendants as “general and exemplary damages.”

He also sought an award of N2m as the cost of the suit.

He also sought an order compelling the DSS to return to the judges the sums of money recovered from them.

He also sought perpetual injunction restraining the defendants from arresting, inviting, intimidating, or harassing the judges with respect to the case.

He alleged that the arrest of the judges without recourse to the NJC was unlawful and amounted to humiliating them.

He said the DSS operations violated the rights of judges under sections 33, 34, 35, 36, and 41 of the Constitution.

The plaintiff contended in his suit that the raid on the residences of the judges and their arrest was unconstitutional.

He maintained that the arrest of the judges did not follow the law. Continue Reading

‘Part 3 of Ex Beauty Queen sex tape lasted one hour, ‘more brutal’ than first 2 videos’

More trouble is looming for dethroned Miss Anambra 2015, Chidinma Okeke, if the word of a source from Awka, Anambra State, is anything to go by.

Vanguard reports that the source who pledged anonymity said that the current trending videos online are mild and alleged that Chidinma also engaged in more acts which lasted over one hour. And that the part 3 of her sexcapades which may surface soon, is ‘more brutal’ than what was seen in the first two videos that have been released.

The source went ahead to reveal that the ex-beauty queen knows the person releasing the video as against what she claimed. He said the whole episode is as a result of a deal gone wrong, a deal made between the beauty queen and one chief, whose name is being fiercely guarded.
The source said:

“First, this is an investment gone wrong. Chief (name not disclosed) sponsored Chidinma Okeke to win the pageant. Chief spent up to N 2million to ensure she emerged as the winner against other beautiful contestants. Chief also budgeted for her wardrobe and makeover pre and post beauty contest. The money was released in trenches to Miss Anambra. Chief also took her to various countries including Germany where she met other models based on the contract terms which Miss Chidinma signed with Chief.

“Part of the agreement stipulates that Chief would make her a big model and whatever proceeds that come during her reign would be shared as specified in the contract terms. Chidinma consented and signed the deal.

“Chidinma emerged as the winner of Miss Anambra, got higher connections and wanted to opt out from the contract without repaying all the expenses Chief incurred. Chief warned of the consequences, but she remained adamant. Chief released a picture to her requesting she comply with the payment and remit the money she is holding before her tenure comes to an end. Chidinma feigned ignorance and even boasted that Chief cannot do anything. It was alleged that she disclosed to a close friend that if chief tried to do anything, they would get him arrested. That was the beginning of the leak. Information available also claimed that the current trending video online is mild. That they have one showing longer sex action by Chidinma.

“Based on the above information, and the fact that Chidinma was a consenting adult as at the time the contract was signed, which reasonably supports the logic behind Chidinma’s silence towards naming the perpetrators; I will advise the family to quit the threat they are making to the man and settle this amicably off the media to avoid further embarrassment for my state, other ‘responsible’ beauty pageants because this is seriously casting them in bad light.”

Former First Lady in More Trouble As EFCC Moves for More Evidence Against Her

Indications emerged on Friday that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission was intensifying moves to gather evidence against the former First Lady, Patience Jonathan, for a possible prosecution.

A top operative of the commission said on Friday that the leadership of the commission had initiated a discreet probe of the former First Lady in a bid to assemble evidence against her in the event of her prosecution as a fallout of the commission’s decision to freeze $20m traced to her.

The source said that the commission had assembled a team of detectives saddled with the responsibility of identifying all houses and property belonging to the former First Lady.

It was stated that the operatives had been instructed from the office of the commission’s chairman to mark such houses and property as part of the preparation for the prosecution of the First Lady.

It was further stated that the operatives were focusing attention on property in Abuja, Yenagoa, Port Harcourt and other cities in the country.

The source said, “It would not be correct to conclude that the commission has halted the investigation into the activities of the former First Lady.

“The investigation is progressing and it is being handled by the office of the chairman of the commission.

“A team of operatives has been assembled to identify all her properties in the country with a focus on Abuja, Port Harcourt and Yenagoa.

“The responsibility of the team is to mark all such properties in preparation for a possible court action.”

The EFCC had traced $5m to the personal account of the former First Lady and frozen the account domiciled in Skye Bank Plc last month.

The commission’s face off with Mrs. Jonathan started when the commission froze the accounts of four companies traced to the Special Adviser to ex-President Jonathan on Domestic Affairs, Waripamowei Dudafa.

The four firms identified as Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited; Seagate Property Development and Investment Company Limited; Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company had a total of $15,591,700 in their accounts.

However, the commission was brought into a face-off with Mrs. Jonathan when she deposed to an affidavit that the money belonged to her.

The former First Lady has since filed a suit at a Federal High Court in Lagos against the commission seeking an order to unfreeze the accounts.

She is also demanding $200m compensation from the commission for alleged violation of her rights.

The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, said that he did not have the information on the latest move by the commission as of the time of filing this report on Friday.

Meanwhile, the former Special Adviser to former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, Dr. Reuben Abati, might spend the weekend in detention.

A source at the commission said that Abati was still struggling to meet the conditions of the administrative bail granted him by the commission on Friday night.

Kidnappers release victims, abduct those who came to drop ransom

For members of a notorious kidnap gang operating in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, nothing could go wrong, but Wednesday, October 12, 2016 was the day the long arm of the law caught up with them.

The nine members of the gang, who were apprehended by the operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team in a five-hour raid that day, said they were so efficient in their criminal operations that they once kidnapped four victims on the same day.

The afternoon raid led to the arrest of Daniel Gabriel (33), Alaso Igodo (25), Akeodi Aselemi (34), Ayibinmotei Livinus (25), Anikuroka Marshal (33), Biebele Elijah (34) Efiye Anda (34), Daniel Lessor (31) and Isaac Reuben (27), all living within the Port Harcourt metropolis.

The police said the gang was responsible for most of the kidnappings that took place within GRA Phase 2, Port Harcourt, Borokiri General Area and YKC axis of Woji in Rivers State.

Saturday PUNCH learnt that the string of events which led to the apprehension of the nine suspects started with the abduction of a woman identified as Mrs. Okotie, who was kidnapped few weeks ago opposite the Royal House of Grace Church in Port Harcourt.

The gang was said to have abducted her in the Mazda car they used as operational vehicle.

The victim told the police that she had told the suspects that she was not feeling fine but they did not listen to her.

Fortunately for Mrs. Okotie, the car broke down along the way and the leader of the gang named Blackie, called for another vehicle, a Nissan Primera, which arrived shortly after.

“But they did not know that we had got information about them. They were on their way to the Ornage Waterside when we intercepted them. As soon as they saw us, they fled and abandoned the woman in the car along with one of their rifles,” the source said.

Few days after the botched kidnapping of Mrs. Okotie, IRT operatives who were following up on a lead, arrested Gabriel, a taxi driver, around on October 12.

When Gabriel, an Akwa-Ibom indigene living at Navy Market Borikiri, Port-Harcourt was taken in for questioning, he confessed that he had personally been involved in 15 kidnaps in the last few months in the state.

He then led the police to his house where five members of the gang were already planning another kidnap.

“When we got to his house, we arrested five of his gang members and from there, we proceeded to Enugu Waterfront where we arrested Anikuroka Marshal, the gang’s armourer.   The suspects also identified Diobele Elijah and Akodi Aselemi as their spies who go around town scouting for victims.  They confessed to have three AK47 rifles, two pistols, which they use in their operations,” a police source said.

Saturday PUNCH learnt that in one of the kidnaps carried out by the gang, on August 10, 2016, a pastor, Mrs. Luis Ubah and one Mr. Chika Ezenwa were abducted. The same day, the gang kidnapped a business woman, Mrs. Ubah in her store, they also grabbed another victim identified as Ezenwa who was with Ubah at the time.

The four victims were taken by the gang to the Indoki Estate Waterfront.

The source explained that while on their way to the waterfront, the gang encountered a police team and instantly opened fire on the policemen.

“Inspector David Ijosi and one Corporal Dike Ledee were injured by bullets in the attack. One was hit in the leg while another was hit in the neck and the kidnappers escaped into the Isaka creeks in Okrika,” the source said.

Soon after, the gang made contact with Ubah’s husband, Bishop Prince Ubah, from whom they demanded a N50m ransom for her freedom.

During the ensuing negotiation, the ransom for the release of the bishop’s wife was reduced to N2.8m and a place was agreed on for the family to drop the ransom.

But in a dramatic turn of events, when two brothers of the bishop, Onyeka Ani and Pastor Okezie Akara, took the money to the agreed place on August 25, 2016, 15 days after Mrs. Ubah was kidnapped, the gang members decided to release her along with Ezenwa but kidnapped the two brothers instead.

The police said they then demanded another N1m ransom from the bishop for his brothers. But N750, 000 was eventually paid for their release.

Police investigation also showed that in August 2016, the gang kidnapped one Nkechi at YKC Junction in Woji Town, Port Harcourt, and she was transported to the Woji Waterfront where they ferried her by speedboat to Kula community in Akukotoru Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The woman was reportedly kept in captivity for two weeks and was released after a ransom of N2m was paid by her family.

In September, a victim identified as Coachie, who was abducted around Number One Stadium, Port Harcourt, was released after a ransom of N2.5m was paid.

In his statement, Gabriel explained that he came to Port Harcourt in 2015 and worked as a taxi driver but when things became difficult for him, he moved his family back home and joined his first kidnapping gang.

He said, “I met the members of the gang in March 2016. I was plying the Aba Road looking for passengers one day when they stopped me and entered my taxi.  They asked me to take them to Borikiri in Port Harcourt.

“When we got there, I was surprised that they paid me more than I demanded and I told them that I wanted to know more about them.   The leader who sat in front passenger seat then gave me his phone number and said he would like me to work with them.

“Few days later, they invited me to a hotel in Borikiri and told me what they did. In April, Blackie, the gang leader, called and asked that I should meet him in his hotel. When I got there, I met other members of the gang preparing for an operation. They showed me two bags containing guns and put it in my car. I then drove them to GRA in Port Harcourt.

“When we got there, the gang’s informant said we had missed the target, a woman, who had just left the place. While leaving, we saw a man driving a nice car and we kidnapped him. He was taken to the Indoki Estate Waterfront. We put him in a speed boat and took him to a camp across the river.”

Gabriel said they carried out many kidnappings and that in August 2016, when they kidnapped Mrs. Okotie, it was like God just wanted them to be caught.

According to him, he had no idea what happened to his car, which he converted from a taxi cab to the gang’s operational vehicle.

“When we were intercepted by the police that day, we left one gun in the car while escaping while Blackie escaped with one other rifle. He gave it to one of our boys, who normally kept our rifles. But after I was arrested, I took the police to the boy and they recovered the rifle and my cab,” he said.

However, in his confessional statement, Anda, a speed boat operator, said he got N200,000  each time he ferried the kidnappers and their victims to their camps across the river in his speed boat.

The suspect, a Bayelsa State indigene, said he was involved in pipeline vandalism and oil theft before the military destroyed the camps in which they “cook” the oil, referring to the numerous makeshift oil refineries that dot creeks where oil militants operate in the country.

“When I became jobless, my friends invited me to Port Harcourt to join the kidnapping business. I became their boat operator. Apart from the transport duty, I was also in charge of buying food for the gang members and the victims. I bought a speed boat with the money I have made so far,” Anda said.

Marshal (the gang’s armourer) on the other hand, said he was paid N40,000 per each operation.

The suspect, who is an indigene of Opobo-Nkoro Local Government Area of Rivers State, said he usually kept the guns in an abandoned bus parked inside the Baptist Church field in Borokiri.

“I did not usually go out with them for the operations. My job is to keep the guns,” he said.

Another suspect, Elijah, a native of Okrika in Rivers State, said he was lured to the gang by his boss, whom he identified as Elvis.

According to him, his role was to assist Elvis to monitor the movement of their targets.

“There was a time I followed Elvis three times to spy on a woman we wanted to kidnap. We could not carry out the operation because our leader, Blackie did not come on time. I was also with him in GRA where we kidnapped the woman who was rescued by the police. Elvis had only been giving me little money since I started working with him. But he loved to buy me a lot of drinks,” he said.

The police said investigation on the scale of the operations of the gang was still on and that they were making efforts to arrest other members of the gang who are now underground.

Teenage girl gets her head stuck in massive pumpkin

Teenage girl gets her head stuck in massive pumpkin

Halloween is in the air and the Ralphs family from Washington were carving up pumpkins for the occasion when Rachel, 16, decided to show everyone how big her pumpkin was by putting her head in it. She got stuck.
Her brothers try to help her free herself all to no avail, her father arrived and suggested they call the fire department but she resisted saying "No! That would be so horrible!"

Her mother, Kirsty Ralphs who shared the video online said she was able to free her daughter moments after the video ended by reaching in and releasing her ponytail. Rachel Ralphs said her intention had been to show her brother Jason, 14, how her pumpkin is larger than his -- a "winning streak" going back years.
"I wanted to prove to him that my winning streak was still in place," Rachel said "And then it got stuck, obviously." She said she doesn't mind the video going viral. "I think it's hilarious," the teenager said. "It's totally fine. I'm glad people think it's funny, too."

Come, Lord Jesus - Gloria Copeland

TOPIC: Come, Lord Jesus

Key Verses: Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. - 1 John 3:2-3

Hopelessness. As this age draws to a close, that's a feeling that's going to be more and more common among the people of this world. But, you know, it's something we as believers never have to feel! Because no matter how much pressure comes on the earth, no matter how dark the natural circumstances around us are, we know that we have hope in the soon return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Sometimes we forget that. We get our attention focused so intently on the natural things of this life that we lose that hope and get caught up in the hopelessness around us. But we don't have to let that happen.

A friend of mine once met a born-again Arab woman in the Middle East who was living proof of that. The woman was caught in a life most of us would consider almost unbearable. She was living in a war zone that had been torn up by violence. She faced the danger of bombs and bullets every day.

Now that Arab woman had no hope in the natural. Her country was being destroyed around her. She had to go to Israel to work and get money for her family because there were no jobs where she was, no way to make money. Things around her seemed to be going from bad to worse, but she told my friend she had hope because she knew that Jesus was coming back for her. And that hope kept her going.

So, if you're feeling hopeless, get your eyes off this world and get them on the soon return of Jesus. Not only will that raise your spirits, the Bible says it will purify you. It will cause you to live uprightly, to separate you from the sin and failure of the world around you. It will lift you into the joy and victory of God.

Think about this. When this old world comes to an end, you and I will just be getting started. We'll be stepping into the most glorious life we've ever known. The people of the world may look back wistfully and wish for better days gone by. But for you and me, the best is yet to come. So we can shout hallelujah in the midst of trouble and say with the Apostle John, "Even so, come, Lord Jesus." Come quickly!

SCRIPTURE: In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. - 1 Thessalonians 5:18

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: In every situation we find ourselves, there is something to thank God for.

Sometime ago, I was angry because I did not wake up on time to pray in the morning as I should. Before the devil could use my anger against me, I realised that my challenge was that I did not wake up on time to pray whereas there were those who did not wake up at all that day; they slept and ended in death. I also realised that I was angry that I overslept whereas there are those who can pay any amount of money in order to have a good sleep at night.

Beloved, in every situation we find ourselves, there is something to thank God for. The situation you are facing may be bad but it is never totally bad. If you have a challenge, God is the reason it is not worse.

Many times, the enemy keeps people’s eyes on their challenges so that they cannot see God’s goodness. If only you can see reasons for thanking God in everything and give Him thanks, then you will frustrate the agenda of the devil and provoke God’s counsel and goodness on your life.

Remember this: In every situation we find ourselves, there is something to thank God for.

1.Spend time today in thanking God for your life.
2.Make it a habit to thank Him always.

PRAYER: O LORD, I thank You for the gift of life. Thank You LORD for making all things work together for my good, in Jesus’ Name.

Battle of the Spirit - Billy Graham

Billy Graham Devotional: Battle of the Spirit

Welcome to Billy Graham Daily Devotional

Today Saturday October 29, 2016

TOPIC: Battle of the Spirit

Bible Text: . . Let the peace of God rule in your hearts . . . — Colossians 3:15

When we examine the problems that confront us in our world today, we find that every one of them resolves into a problem of “inner space,” a problem of the dark side of the human spirit. From thousands of letters we receive, it is evident that a large proportion of the population is facing deep personal problems. They vary from person to person, but they do exist, and they are all problems of “inner space.”

Yes, we are the people who have been conquering outer space, but are in danger of losing the battle of the spirit. But there is a solution-for millions it has already been reached-and that solution is in Jesus Christ. He said, “My peace”-my liberty, my freedom-“I give unto you” (John 14:27).

Today if we will turn the searchlight of truth on the dark side of our human spirits and let Jesus Christ become the Master Control of our lives, a new day will dawn for us. Submit the “inner space” of your life to Him.

Prayer for the day: How often I hurt deep down inside me, Lord, but the knowledge of Your love and compassion brings me hope and peace.

Clinton 'confident' new FBI probe into email scandal will not find cause to file charges

United state elections

Hillary Clinton says she is confident a new FBI probe into her emails will not change the outcome of the original investigation in July.

With just days to go until the US election , the Democratic presidential nominee said people have already made up their minds about the controversy.

She called on the FBI to release all new information in its probe of her private email server and said she did not think the agency would change its conclusion in July not to prosecute her.

"The American people deserve to get the full and complete facts immediately. The director himself has said he doesn't know whether the emails referenced in his letter are significant or not. I'm confident whatever they are will not change the conclusion reached in July," she told reporters.

In a letter to members of Congress, FBI director James Comey revealed new messages have been found that are "pertinent to the investigation".

In July, FBI officials had recommended that no charges should be brought over the controversy which centres around Ms Clinton's use of a private email server to exchange messages with staff and other officials.

Bible Text: Deuteronomy 2:1-7

Key Verse: "Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward" (Deuteronomy 2:3).

Throughout history, God has always remembered His people. He may try their patience, but He always intervenes at the right time. He never forgets His own. The children of Israel had wandered in the wilderness for forty years and it appeared that they were stuck and had no future. But Moses waited for God’s directive on their next line of action.

As expected, God instructed them to move northward, but sternly warned them not to cause any inconvenience to the children of Esau dwelling there in the coast of Seir or be too comfortable with them. They were to only pass through their land and purchase anything they needed. The need for this instruction was to drive into their consciousness that they must not meddle in the affairs of sinful nations or rely on them for sustenance to avoid ridiculing the name of God.

Today, the passage reminds us of the need to wholly rely on God for all our needs. God is aware of whatever situation we are in and He is always touched by our infirmities. He makes everything beautiful in His own time. He does not expect His children to put their trust in any man. Although God may use unbelievers as channels of blessing to believers, it is however, never His will for His children to see a fellow man as a messiah. While God has limitless power to change anybody’s circumstance, man’s ability is very limited.

Are you wandering in the desert of unemployment, barrenness, illness, afflictions, poverty or persecution? Relax, God understands! He knows the heartache you are going through. This morning, He is telling you to "turn northward", but with a warning not to sell your birthright to be free from adversities or mix up with the multitude in desperation to be free from temporary afflictions. As a believer, there is nothing to worry about.

Thought for the day: God makes all things beautiful in His time.
