A Glimpse Into Heavenly Order - PASTOR W.F KUMUYI

TOPIC:A Glimpse Into Heavenly Order

Bible Text: Ezekiel 10:8-22

Key Verse:"When they stood, these stood; and when they were lifted up, these lifted up themselves also: for the spirit of the living creature was in them" (Ezekiel 10:17).

The ceremonial march display of the armed forces could be admired for the orderliness, harmony, beauty and precision displayed in their movements. Nothing best illustrates the beauty of unity and orderliness as this.

The record of the prophet Ezekiel in our text today gives us a glimpse of the heavenly hosts that carry out the services and orders of the Lord of Host. The vision gives an insight into the cherubic beings who have been assigned to carry out the judgment on Judah due to their departure from the worship of the true God. The description of these beings reveals the precision, harmony and order in their operations. It is a revelation of the order that must characterize activities in heaven. For sure, heaven must be devoid of the chaos that often characterizes our most organized societies here on earth. The reason for the orderliness of these creatures is the "spirit of the living creatures" that was with them.

The Spirit's presence ensures order. God's Spirit in the church as well as in the individual Christian does not bring about disharmony, disorder and chaos. It fosters harmony and ensures unity of purpose solely directed at bringing about the glory and honour of God. Where God's Spirit is present, we cannot expect rancor, sharp and irreconcilable disagreements and all forms of backstabbing often witnessed in most congregations. There will be a replication of the order of Heaven in our churches and homes. If we are hoping to live in heaven forever, then we must begin to get ourselves acclimatized here on earth.

We must allow the Spirit of God to dominate us and blend us such that all our differences are lost. Even though we may retain our individualities, we can still function in perfect harmony. This is the will of God for His church and for our homes. Heaven is a place of incomparable beauty.

Thought for the day: Harmony is beautiful to behold

From my own observation, there is nothing wrong with this attire President Buhari is wearing in the picture above. Well, it is a mix of native and english. He is coming from Nigeria (Northern) and now in Germany.

He must have probably wore it because too much cold but one would say, Is there no other or fitted jacket which could have covered him.

Islamic scholar calls on Rahama Sadau to turn down Hollywood invite, suggests she gets married instead

Islamic scholar calls on Rahama Sadau to turn down Hollywood invite, suggests she gets married instead

A Kano-based Islamic scholar, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, has called on banned Kannywood star, Rahama Sadau to turn down the invitation extended to her to visit the Hollywood.

The hugely popular Kaduna-born actress was banned over two weeks ago from the Hausa film industry for her 'immoral' appearance in a romantic music video by Jos musician, ClassiQ, in which she is seen hugging and cuddling.

Following the resultant outrage and condemnation, the 22-year-old actress was invited by international star, Akon and US-based Nigerian film-maker, Jeta Amata, to visit the set of their new film in Hollywood, Los Angeles.

In an open letter addressed to Rahama on Facebook in Hausa, Sheikh Daurawa described the problem the actress had with Kanywood as trial from God to test her faith. He added that Islam agrees with people being told to mend their ways when they make mistake. The cleric went on to suggest that marriage would be better for the actress.

The actress was showing off her enviable body in a colourful print bikini as she shot a volleyball scene for A Little Something For Your Birthday alongside muscle-bound co-star Jason Gibson.

The blonde looked like a natural as she hit balls over the net and dived into the sand on Zuma Beach.

Rather than rocking a pair of matching bottoms, Sharon opted to wear a pair of tiny red shorts.

Prescription for Life - Kenneth Copeland

Thursday, 20 October 2016

Key Verses: If any one intends to come after Me, let him deny himself [forget, ignore, disown and lose sight of himself and his own interests] and take up his cross, and...follow with Me. For whoever wants to save his [higher, spiritual, eternal] life, will lose it...and whoever gives up his life [which is lived only on earth] for My sake and the Gospel's will save [it]. - Mark 8:34-35, The Amplified Bible

When Jesus said those words, He wasn't just giving us a prescription for getting to heaven. He was telling us how to live a superior life right here on earth.

You see, there's a high life that we can live right here, right now. But to get in on it, we have to lay down the way of life that most of us are accustomed to. We may have to let go of the very things we've been trying so hard to latch on to. We have to set our hearts instead on doing what God wants us to do.

That's what Jesus did. He didn't live His life for Himself. He lived it completely for God. He did only what the Father told Him to do—and He lived in total victory.

It's time to realize that getting born again is not something we do just to miss hell. Our purpose is to please God—to lay down our lives in order to fulfill His desires. To be His special possessions in the earth and to do whatever He tells us to do. Our top priority is to give ourselves to Him and to live in communication with Him. To spend enough time with Him that we can hear His voice and respond in obedience.

Only when we do that will we be genuinely fulfilled. Only when we do that will we be able to live the high life we've been longing for.

BILLY GRAHAM DEVOTIONAL: Victory Over Temptation

BILLY GRAHAM DEVOTIONAL: Victory Over Temptation

Thursday, 20 October 2016

Bible Text: . . . tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope; and hope maketh not ashamed . . . Romans 5:3–5

God never promised to remove temptation from us, for even Christ was subject to it. The Bible says that “He was tested in all things, like as we, yet without sin.” There is no good reason why you should seek to escape, for such times of testing have beneficial effects. There is a sense of achievement and assurance that results from victory over temptation that cannot come to us otherwise.
BILLY GRAHAM DEVOTIONAL: Victory Over Temptation

Temptation shows what people really are. It does not make us Christian or un-Christian. It does make the Christian stronger and causes him to discover resources of power. You can benefit from what might be tragedy, if you will only discover that in just such a time of temptation, Christ can become more real to you than ever, and His salvation will become more meaningful.

Prayer for the day:
In all times of temptation, may I remember Your example, Lord Jesus.

With just 20 days to go until the Presidential Election, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump will face each other one last time tonight.

It's the last chance for US voters to get a good look at the candidates before polling day on November 8th.

The polls are opening up, with Clinton taking a nine point lead over the Donald.

But if the previous debates are anything to go by, we're in for a fiery clash of personalities

One of the standout lines from Hillary Clinton’s side was her accusation Trump would be a “puppet” for Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

She was responding to Trump after he claimed the Russian president had “no respect” for her.

“I don’t know Putin,” Mr Trump said. “He nice things about me. If we got along well, that would be good.”

“He has no respect for her. He has no respect for our president.

“We’re in very serious trouble.

“We have a country with tremendous numbers of nuclear warheads ... 1,800 nuclear warheads and she’s playing chicken.

“From everything I see, Putin has no respect for this person.”

Clinton responded: “That’s because he’d rather have a puppet as president of the United States”.

Mr Trump replied: “No puppet! You’re the puppet.”

Nigerian Author attacks President Buhari

                                 Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie
Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie says President Muhammadu Buhari has squandered the massive goodwill and support he had upon his inauguration as President and missed an opportunity to set Nigeria on the right path.

“Mr Buhari ascended to the presidency with a rare advantage — not only did he have the good will of a majority of Nigerians, he elicited a peculiar mix of fear and respect,” she wrote in an opinion for The New York Times, published on Tuesday.

“For the first weeks of his presidency, it was said that civil servants who were often absent from work suddenly appeared every day, on time, and that police officers and customs officials stopped demanding bribes.”

She said although she experienced political fear for the first time, aged seven, under Buhari’s military regime in 1984, she welcomed his election 30 years later in 2015 because “he represented some form of hope”.

“Because for the first time, Nigerians had voted out an incumbent in an election that was largely free and fair,” she said.

“Because Mr Buhari had sold himself as a near-ascetic reformer, as a man so personally above board that he would wipe out Nigeria’s decades-long corruption.”

Although she acknowledged that Nigeria was difficult to govern, she said Buhari wasted an opportunity through his actions – from his appointments to his economic decisions.

“He had an opportunity to make real reforms early on, to boldly reshape Nigeria’s path. He wasted it,” she said.

“Perhaps the first clue was the unusually long time it took him to appoint his ministers. After an ostensible search for the very best, he presented many recycled figures with whom Nigerians were disenchanted.

“But the real test of his presidency came with the continued fall in oil prices, which had begun the year before his inauguration.”

She explained that while the plunge in oil prices was bound to have a catastrophic impact on the economy because it was “unwholesomely dependent on oil”, Buhari’s actions made it even more so.

She cited the policy of defending the naira through which the official EXCHANGE RATE was kept “artificially low” but caused the exchange rate to balloon on the black market and restriction of access to the central bank’s foreign currency reserves, which “spawned corruption”.

She said while the exchange rate crisis caused the price for everything – rice, bread, cooking oil – rice and forced businesses to fire employees with some folding, “the exclusive few who were able to buy dollars at official rates could sell them on the black market and earn large, riskless profits — transactions that contribute nothing to the economy.”

According to her, although Buhari believed, rightly, that Nigeria needed to produce more of what it consumed, and he wanted to spur local production, local production could not be willed into existence if the supporting infrastructure was absent.

“And banning goods has historically led not to local production but to a thriving shadow market,” she added.

“His intentions, good as they well might be, are rooted in an outdated economic model and an infantile view of Nigerians.

“For him, it seems, patriotism is not a voluntary and flexible thing, with room for dissent, but a martial enterprise: to obey without questioning.”

Adichie also faulted Buhari’s handling of the herdsmen/famers clashes in the country.
She said, “Since Mr. Buhari came to power, villages in the middle-belt and southern regions have been raided, the inhabitants killed, their farmlands sacked. Those attacked believe the Fulani herdsmen want to forcibly take over their lands for cattle grazing.

“It would be unfair to blame Mr. Buhari for these killings, which are in part a result of complex interactions between climate change and land use. But leadership is as much about perception as it is about action, and Mr. Buhari has appeared disengaged.

“It took him months, and much criticism from civil society, to finally issue a statement “condemning” the killings. His aloofness feels, at worst, like a tacit enabling of murder and, at best, an absence of sensitive leadership.

“Most important, his behavior suggests he is tone-deaf to the widely held belief among southern Nigerians that he promotes a northern Sunni Muslim agenda.

“He was no less opaque when the Nigerian Army murdered hundreds of members of a Shiite Muslim group in December, burying them in hastily dug graves. Or when soldiers killed members of the small secessionist pro-Biafran movement who were protesting the arrest of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu, a little-known figure whose continued incarceration has elevated him to a minor martyr.”

In terms of the war on corruption, she said, “Nigerians who expected a fair and sweeping cleanup of corruption have been disappointed. Arrests have tended to be selective, targeting mostly those opposed to Mr Buhari’s government.

“The anti-corruption agencies are perceived not only as partisan but as brazenly flouting the rule of law.”

Here’s What Happened During Brad Pitt’s Second Visit with His Kids

Brad Pitt is trying to heal with his family. Days after seeing his children for the first time since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce, the actor is continuing his therapy with his kids per the temporary custody agreement with his estranged wife.

According to InTouch, Pitt recently had his second meeting with some of his six kids, who are all currently living with Jolie. Though the By the Sea star “wasn’t as emotional” as he was during the first reunion, Pitt was reportedly glad to spend time with his brood again.

“It was a two hour visit, with a monitor present. Brad wasn’t as emotional as the first visit, but it was obvious that he was very happy to see the kids,” an insider told the publication. “The visit lasted about 90 minutes at an undisclosed neutral location.”

Since the split, Pitt has reportedly only seen his children for a total of four hours. Meanwhile, the kids — Maddox, Pax,Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne — are living with Jolie and her brother, James Haven, in an $8.1 million rental home in Malibu, Calif.

Justin Bieber and his most recent paramour, Sofia Richie, are no longer dating.
Sources told TMZ the two were never very serious about the relationship, and that it just fizzled. Now, they are moving on and seeing other people.

The fling didn’t start out that way, of course. The two were first spotted in early August, while on a hike, and then they were seemingly inseparable for awhile. Bieber took Richie with him to Tokyo. He even took down his Instagram account for her as a defense against rude comments that included a heated back-and-forth with his ex,  Selena Gomez.

With the last of three presidential debates airing tonight (Oct. 19, 2016), the name “Donald Trump” is on just about everyone’s lips, including Eminem.

Slim Shady verbally waylays the floundering Republican candidate in a new, jarring eight-minute rap titled “Campaign Speech.”

“Consider me a dangerous man/ But you should be afraid of this dang candidate/ You say Trump don’t kiss ass like a puppet?/ ‘Cause he runs his campaign with his own cash for the funding?/ And that’s what you wanted?/ A fuckin’ loose cannon who’s blunt with his hand on the button/ Who doesn’t have to answer to no one?/ Great idea!” Eminem sprays, not mincing his words directed at the real estate mogul.
