MANCHESTER UNITED: Jose Mourinho won't celebrate from beating Liverpool - because they are 'nothing special'

Jose Mourinho insists he takes no extra satisfaction from beating Liverpool.

The Manchester United boss has his own history with the Merseysiders, stretching back to 2005 when Luis Garcia’s ‘ghost goal’ against Chelsea took Rafa Benitez’s men through to the Champions League final and the miracle of Istanbul.

Mourinho avenged that defeat when he masterminded a smash-and-grab raid of his own two years ago, beating Liverpool 2-0 and handing the Premier League title to Manchester City.

Now the Special One has handed down the ultimate insult to the Kop – by branding Liverpool a big club that is nothing special.

When I asked Mourinho if he took any extra pleasure from breaking Anfield hearts, he was unequivocal.

“No,” he said. “For me, playing Liverpool is just to play against a big club.

“In Madrid, I wanted to play against Barcelona and I wanted to play against Atletico and against Valencia.

“In Inter, I wanted to play against Milan, against Juventus, against Roma. In Chelsea, I wanted to play against Man United, against Liverpool, against Arsenal, against all the big clubs in the country.

Daisy Lowe confesses stripping naked is easier than Strictly Come Dancing

Daisy Lowe finds stripping naked for sexy magazine shoots is a lot easier than dancing on Strictly Come Dancing .

The brunette beauty, 27, who is currently competing in the BBC One dancing competition said that she is overcome with nerves on the show.

Daisy, 27, described herself as “clumsy” because she gets hit with nervousness and often bumps into her professional dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec by accident.

On Saturday night, Daisy hit the dancefloor for a rumba to Careless Whisper with Skorjanec.

When asked which she found easier, Daisy admitted it was stripping off.

“This is so much more nerve-racking,” she said, according to the Daily Star Sunday.

“At least on photoshoots you are in one room with one camera and it feels intimate.”

Daisy said when she's on a raunchy shoot, she often doesn't think about the end result but just visualises herself and the photographer on set.

“This is the most nerveracking thing I’ve ever put myself through. I’m a big bag of nerves – and a clumsy one at that,” she said.

“We keep head-butting each other. I’ve been the most terrified of all the weeks this week, especially with people going home – it feels very real.”

While Daisy admits she wants to win the coveted glitterball trophy, she does say that she's trying not to think much past each week.

“God, it would be a life dream come true to win Strictly, but I’m not putting that much pressure on myself,” she said.

"Kim Kardashian turned me gay"- Jimmy Ladgrove

It would be the dream date of most red-blooded men, but after meeting the dazzling Kim Kardashian in real life, one guy was turned off women for good.

Jimmy Ladgrove went on a date with Kim Kardashian

The Melbourne native was a student when he entered a creative competition on Facebook with the winner being given a date with the star of Keeping up with the Kardashians.

Speaking exclusively to Mirror Online, Jimmy said: “The date wasn’t what you’d expect. It wasn’t dinner or something, it took place at a clothing shop in Melbourne in a really upmarket designer area.
After meeting Kim, Jimmy was turned off women

“They’d closed down the shop for me and my friends and her and we just hung out together. There were loads of fans outside the shop waiting to see her and I felt really strange being there. I remember thinking 'What have I got myself into?'”

The date itself was pretty uneventful as Jimmy sat next to the reality TV star while everyone else in the store chatted to her.

We are ready to give Aisha Buhari our membership card – PDP

Aisha Buhari

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abdullahi Jalo, has expressed readiness to give membership card to the First Lady, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, since the President said he doesn’t know her party.

Jalo said this following the castigation she received over her recent outburst on BBC.

He also said the statement credited to President Muhammadu Buhari at a press conference in Germany has put him in the mold of America’s Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump.

Also, former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, said those calling for the arrest of President Buhari’s wife, for speaking her mind, belong to the Stone Age.

The two PDP chieftains spoke in an interview yesterday in reaction to Aisha Buhari’s interview with BBC Hausa Service on Friday. Jalo said the statement by the President that his wife belongs only to his kitchen and bedroom is costly, which can work against him if he decides to re-contest in 2019.

“Buhari is becoming like a Trump of America whose past time is to scandalise women. That statement is very costly. We are advocating that (Mrs. Hilary) Clinton should be elected to be the first woman to rule America and you are saying that you are turning your wife to be a house maid who has the right (only) to be in your kitchen and in your room.

“That is a costly statement, which will affect his electioneering campaign in 2019 if he decides to contest. The implication is that he doesn’t like women.

He is saying that women should not have right to be politicians,” Jalo stated. He said Mrs. Buhari has assumed the role of the opposition, adding that if the President said he doesn’t know her party, PDP is ready to give her a membership card.

“As far as I am concerned, she has done the work of an opposition, and if she decides to join us, she will have a good reception,” he added Jalo warned that should Buhari reject her advice, the consequence could be colossal, which might lead to his popularity being diminished as the nation is approaching the 2019 general elections.

According to him, Islam recognises that three persons who could advice a leader are his parents, his wife and the children, noting that Mrs. Buhari’s interview was in line with Islamic injunction. “What will affect the integrity of the President will affect her. She is taking cognisance of those that have suffered. People are even abusing her. Anybody that abused her has abused the President, because even if she is a divorcee, she has issues with Mohammed Buhari: she is Buhari and Buhari is she.

I was made to sign a confessional statement at gunpoint, says Justice Ademola

 Justice Adeniyi Ademola

Justice Adeniyi Ademola who was among the judges that were arrested and detained last Saturday by agents of the Department of State Security, says he was made to sign a confessional statement at the DSS office with a gun pointed at him.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Ademola alleged that the sting operation carried out by DSS at his home in Abuja, was a personal vendetta against him masterminded by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.

According to Justice Ademola, Malami is trying to get at him because while he was serving as a Federal judge in Kano between 2004-2008, he ordered the arrest of Malami for being involved in professional misconduct. In the letter addressed to the CJN, Justice Ademola stated that the DSS operatives held guns to his head to sign a document detailing items allegedly found in his house as well as confessional statements.

DSS in a statement released after the arrest of the seven judges in various parts of the country, stated that it recovered over N362 million during the operation. The arrest and detention involved two Supreme Court justices, Sylvester Ngwuta and Inyang Okoro, and two judges of the Federal High Court, Ademola (Abuja Division) and Muazu Pindiga (Gombe Division), was widely criticised.

Justice Ademola's letter to the CJN reads in part “Contrary to media report being circulated, I have never confessed to any crime or implicated anybody, including judges, in my statement obtained from me by the DSS. What is more intriguing in this whole episode is that I see it as a vendetta/revenge from the Hon. Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Mallami, SAN, (who) whilst I was in Kano between 2004 and 2008 as a Federal High Court judge was involved in a professional misconduct necessitating his arrest and detention by my order. However, with the intervention of the Nigerian Bar Association, Kano Branch, the allegation of misconduct was later withdrawn by me. Consequently, the National Judicial Council referred Abubakar Mallami to the NBA Disciplinary Committee for disciplinary action. It was a result of this he was denied the rank of SAN by the Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee for the period of four years, until when he produced a fake letter of apology, purportedly, addressed to me. It was then he was conferred with the rank. Since the above incident, Abubakar Mallami has threatened to revenge and swore to do anything to bring me down. My Lord, with this infringement of my fundamental right, I seek for the leave to commence an action against the DSS to encore my right that was breached,” he stated.

Justice Ademola also alleged that he was arrested by the DSS because he granted bail to former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, and also freed the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.

“For and interest of my life, and unknown persons with mask on their faces, I collected the written items and signed the document. Upon signing the document, they told me that I am under arrest and ordered me with guns still pointed at me to move outside. As I was going, they told me they were taking me to their office, Department of State Services office, without showing any warrant of arrest. I obeyed them and about six o’clock in the morning, I was whisked away from my residence to the DSS office without any warrant of arrest or reason for my arrest. From the time of my arrival at the DSS office, at about 6:45am on 8/10/2016, I was not told what my crime was for over 24 hours till the evening of 9/10/2016. A DSS official finally informed me that the search of my house and arrest were based on these three allegations: petition of Hon. Jenkins Duvie dated 4th of April 2016 to the National Judicial Council; granting bail to Col. Sambo Dasuki and the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu; and using my office to secure my wife’s appointment as the head of civil service through Senator Bola Tinubu.”

BBC INTERVIEW: Islamic cleric calls for immediate arrest of Aisha Buhari

Islamic cleric calls for immediate arrest of Aisha Buhari

An Islamic cleric in Kano State has called on security agencies to arrest Nigeria’s First Lady, Mrs Aisha Buhari, because her BBC interview is “capable of inciting millions of Nigerians against her husband.”

Mrs. Buhari in an interview with the Hausa Service of BBC said President Muhammadu Buhari did not know most of the top officials he appointed into offices.

In an unprecedented move, she publicly criticised her husband’s cabinet, warning that some people who did not labour for his victory have hijacked his government, alienating those who struggled to build the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC).

She added that she may not support her husband’s re-election in 2019 unless he rejigs his cabinet.

Excerpt of the interview has sparked fierce condemnation in Kano State.

According to ThisDay newspaper, at Jamaatul Izalatul Bid’ah Mosque in Farm Centre, Kano, Shiek Ismail Illyasu Mangu spoke to the thousands of worshipers immediately after the Jumaat prayer, calling on security agencies to arrest the First Lady “because her interview is capable of inciting millions of Nigerians against her husband.

“We are sad about the interview granted by the wife of the President. We believe that opposition members in the country are using her against the government. Her statement is unfair and capable of inciting violence. It is a threat to the peace of the country and we do hope the security agencies will immediately arrest her.

“We believed that some ungrateful elements in the country are using the wife of the president to tarnish the image of the president and the country. Nigerians are not in her support,” Shiek Mangu reportedly said.

Bible Text: Lamentations 3:22-30

Key Verse: "It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness" (Lamentations 3:22,23).

"If you complain that you do not have shoes, think of those who do not have legs!" This is the advice often given to those who often complain of lack. Truly, nothing stops us from being in a worse situation than we are now, but for the mercies of God. This is why we should always give thanks in the midst of any situation we find ourselves.

Before now, prophet Jeremiah had lamented over all that had befallen Jerusalem. He also cried for all he had suffered personally from the people because of his involvement in the prophetic ministry. However, he still had reasons to thank God. In fact, he testified that were it not for the mercies of God, the nation would have been in a far worse situation. So, instead of continuing to muse and mourn over their predicaments, he admonished them to give thanks. Jeremiah's attitude and resolve should be a challenge to everyone.

We must learn to stop complaining about our seeming unfortunate lots and losses in life and learn to give thanks to God for His preserving mercies. Think about it, what hope is there for the dead? As long as we have life, we still have hope. So, if the Lord has shown us enough mercy, keeping us alive to still have hope, how we need to give thanks, notwithstanding our present predicament. Beyond this, God has given Himself to Christians as their portion. This means that as long as believers have God, they have all they can ever need. If you truly understand this, then there won't be the need to worry or fret over what you have or what you don't have. God's faithfulness and mercies.

The Bible cannot run out as they are new every morning. This is enough reason to keep our faith in God and give thanks always.

Thought for the day: Better to count your blessing than to enumerate your losses.

The Operation of Faith - Dr. Paul Enenche

THE OPERATION OF FAITH written by Dr. Paul Enenche

Seed of Destiny Daily Devotional

SCRIPTURE: For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. James 2:26

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Faith is not just a desire; it requires work.

Faith is work. It is a spiritual system that must be put to work for it to produce result. It is like the hydraulic system of a car that has a lot of components functioning together to make the system work. Faith is not just a desire; it requires work.

It is also important to know that faith is a spiritual way of life (Habakkuk 2:4). Faith is not something to look for in times of challenge; it is the normal way of life of a person even before the arrival of challenges. So, for a person of faith, there are ways he is not permitted to think, talk, or act.

Now, let us take a look at one of the dimensions of faith operation:

Deep Understanding of the Word of God

A deep understanding of the Word of God is a foundation for faith (Romans 10:17). A person of faith has a deep understanding of God’s Word in the area of his interest. So, if you are interested in operating in the supernatural, gather Scriptures in that line and network them for a deep understanding that will guarantee your faith to operate in the supernatural.

Remember this: Faith is not just a desire; it requires work.

1. Network Scriptures pertaining to your challenge, trust God for insight and use it as a missile against your challenge.
2. Define your thought, word, and action pattern according to what you want to see in life.
3. Let everything you do be driven by faith.

PRAYER: O LORD, I receive the grace to build my faith. Baptise me with an unquenchable appetite for Your Word, LORD, in Jesus’ Name.

PUT PATIENCE TO WORK - Kenneth Copeland

Sunday, 16 October 2016

Key Verse: Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. - Hebrews 10:35-36

Most of us have a distorted idea about patience. We think of it as something designed to help us suffer failure gracefully, but according to these scriptures, it will actually put us on the path to success!

Patience (or being consistently constant) is the power twin of faith. They work together to see to it that the promises of God are fulfilled in your life.

Say, for example, you need a job. You can go to the Word and see clearly that God promises to provide your needs. You can see He takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servants. Once you see that, faith takes hold and you shout, "Hallelujah, I've got the job I need."

But what happens to that faith tomorrow morning when you go to three interviews and get turned down all three times? Then what? That's when patience has to take over! That's when you have to make a decision to stay constant, to act as if nothing's changed.

The truth is, if you based your confidence on the Word of God, nothing has changed. It says exactly the same thing it said yesterday.

So, if you'll put patience to work, you know what you're going to say after those three unsuccessful job interviews? You're going to say, "Hallelujah, I've got the job I need!" just like you did before.

You see, faith opens the door to God's promise for you; and patience keeps it open until that promise is fulfilled.

Do you have your faith sights set on a promise of God today, a promise you've been waiting on for some time? Don't let the delay discourage you. Put patience to work. The Word guarantees you will receive your reward.

Bible Text: ...My heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God. — Psalm 84:2

Loneliness is one of the greatest problems people face today. It is a leading cause of suicide-that is now the third greatest killer of students in the United States. People feel various kinds of loneliness. One of the most common is the loneliness of solitude. Or there is the loneliness of suffering. Many people experience loneliness in society, or there is the loneliness of sorrow, guilt, and judgment.

All of us feel at times a loneliness for God. Someone has called it cosmic loneliness. We don’t know what it is. It makes us restless. You see, man was made for God; and without God, he is lonely. But Jesus is knocking at the door of our heart, saying, “I want to come in. Let me in.” He doesn’t push His way through that door. We have to open it and invite Him in; when we do, He comes in to live forever and we are never lonely again.

Prayer for the day:
Lord Jesus, I remember the agony of my days without You. Lead me to the lonely people who need to experience the joy of Your companionship, too.
