PRESIDENT BUHARI: 'Probe my family if anyone is implicated in corruption'

President Muhammadu Buhari has told the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and other anti-graft agencies to probe even his own children or members of his family implicated in corrupt practices. He said he would not forgive the anti-graft agency if it fails to probe any allegation of corruption against his children and family members.

A sketch of Buhari’s tough anti-corruption mindset and plans was contained in a book, “Muhammadu Buhari: The challenges of leadership in Nigeria”, which is authored by Prof. John Paden.

The book reveals how Buhari inspired the acting Chairman of EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu as a school boy to develop anti-graft traits.

It adds:

“Buhari’s attitude is to let the chips fall where they may in particular cases, although reform of the judiciary is one of his larger goals “Buhari has often said that if any of his own children were accused of corruption, and the authorities did not investigate, he would never forgive the authorities.”

It was also learnt that the President has rebuffed pressure to save his allies in the All Progressives Congress(APC) from being probed by anti-graft agencies.

In spite of their close family ties, it was learnt that President Muhammadu Buhari has failed to save the former National Security Adviser, Mr. Sambo Dasuki because his policy is that there should be no sacred cows in the anti-corruption war.

It was also revealed for the first time that Buhari does not have any grudge against Dasuki despite the latter’s involvement in the August 1985 coup, which led to the former’s removal as a military head of state.

“On numerous occasions, Buhari has urged public officials to do their duty without fear or favour. He has also tried to inspire younger generations to regard public service as an honest calling.

“For example, the current acting head of EFCC, Ibrahim Magu was a schoolboy in Borno when Buhari was military governor in 1975. Buhari gave a talk to a group of boys that included Magu and urged them to do their best.

“Magu was inspired and became a professional policeman.

“In 2015, Buhari asked Magu to head the EFCC, a dangerous job if done well. By mid-May 2016, Magu had secured 143 convictions of corrupt officials.”

Unknown to many, the book has revealed how Buhari resisted pressure to save his allies in APC from being arrested or prosecuted for corruption.

The world is coming to an end. The current happenings prove so. Teenagers have turned the world into Sodom and Gomorrah. They will do anything in the name of having fun. Be it sleeping around, grinding on each other or even pulling some dirty moves in church in the name of praising the Lord, our generation is indeed rotten.
Young girls who are the main victims will do anything for fame. Be it going for butt implants, sleeping around for fame, leaking their S3@.x:’ tapes or even dishing out nudies, we really need the Messiah to save us. AGAIN!

A video of a Kenyan girl shaking her big buttocks which look like implants or rather fake has surfaced online. In the video, the girl is busy shaking it and even goes ahead to expose her whole body. It’s not clear why she recorded herself doing such but it seems she was either on a Skype call or was entertaining someone.
But why? In this time and age do people still do such? Do they even think of the aftermath? Will you be proud when your children find your Unclad photos online? Whatever you choose, do it wisely or else one day in life, you will be left embarrassed. Just remember that the internet never forgets.

The incident attracted many passersby, some of whom cheered the plus-size woman, begging her to “give them more”. She did not hesitate. The woman went ahead to entertain the crowd, making it hard for the police to control her.

At first, many thought she was not in her right senses, but witnesses confirmed she was okay. When the scene began, the woman got on the top of the car with help from her neighbours, and sources indicate she did this because she thought her actions would chase the police officers away from the neighbourhood. Onlookers feasted their eyes on the Unclad woman, as others took photos and videos.

4 Signs that your boyfriend find you very ugly

                                 boyfriend thinks you are ugly
People often say beauty is in the eye of the beholder and your boyfriend is one of the top people on your list who will get to know your outer and inner beauty very well.

If he falls in love with your inner beauty, he will stay with you in the long run. If he falls in love with your outer beauty, he will just be with you for your looks.

Truth is, you should be with someone who finds you beautiful both inward and outward because this will boost your confidence and make you more secure.

Here are four signs that you will recognize if you feel your boyfriend doesn’t find you very beautiful:

1. He encourages make-up.

                                 boyfriend (5)
He is your number one fan when you apply make-up. He will give you endless comments and make you feel like a princess. Once you take off the make-up however, he does not look at you when he talks and keeps asking when next you will put on a full face of make-up.

2. He doesn’t come to your defense when people tease you.

                                  boyfriend (1)

Friends will tease themselves and always make fun of each other; guys do it the most. If one of his friends teases you about being ugly and he either says nothing to defend you or joins in the laugh, it may be because he believes it is true.

Normally, he should defend you or tell you to ignore he comments because you are beautiful.

3. He doesn’t like your face showing in pictures.

                                   boyfriend (4)
If he is someone who likes to take pictures of himself but when it comes to the both of you, he gives an excuse or says you have no flattering angle, it may be because you are not fine to him.

Your boyfriend should be able to showcase you and proudly show you off but if he will only show your hand or leg, that should tell you something is wrong.

4. He always teases you about being ugly

                                  boyfriend (2)
It’s okay for your boyfriend to poke fun at you but if he teases you more than he compliments you, this is a problem. And if the teases are always specific (eg. your big nose, your fat cheeks) rather than general (for eg idiot, fool), then he may be sending you a message.

Celebrities attacks Donald Trump for "grab them by the p***y" comment

trumps update

Donald Trump has been blasted by a whole host of famous faces after video surfaced of him boasting about groping women.

In the clip, filmed in 2005 as Trump chatted with former Access Hollywood presenter Billy Bush, he can be heard claiming he 'moved' on an unnamed woman, but she rejected him.

The video was taken just a few months after he married third wife Melania, according to the Washington Post.

It ends with him saying, “You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful - I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait.”

“And when you’re a star they let you do it. You can do anything. “Grab them by the p****. You can do anything.”

Unsurprisingly, celebrities have flocked to Twitter to criticise the Republican presidential hopeful.

Nobody’s money can buy my conscience, Oyegun tells Tinubu

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, on Friday responded to allegations levelled against him by the party’s National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

According to Punch, Odigie-Oyegun, who, in a statement issued in Abuja, said all members of the party must respect its constitution, stated that nobody had the money to buy his conscience.

The media office of Tinubu, had in a statement issued few weeks ago, accused Odigie-Oyegun of derailing from the party’s ethos and faulted his role in the APC governorship primary in Ondo State, which was won by Chief Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN).

The statement had said, “(Odigie-) Oyegun has dealt a heavy blow to the very party he professes to lead. It is an awful parent who suffocates his own child for the sake of a few naira.”

But the national chairman in his first comprehensive response to Tinubu’s allegations, described the allegations as reckless and baseless, adding that it was an insult on his person and hard-earned reputation.

He stated, “Nobody has the kind of money that can buy my conscience or make me do injury to an innocent man. In all the primaries conducted under my watch as national chairman, I have strived to ensure a free, fair, transparent and credible process. The 2016 Ondo State APC governorship primary was not an exception. There must be internal democracy in the party and our constitution must be respected by all.”

Odigie-Oyegun also responded to an allegation that he overruled the decision of APC’s National Working Committee, which reportedly had majority of its members present voting in favour of cancellation of the result of the primary.

He said that the minutes of the NWC meetings, which were held from September 19 to September 22, showed that the committee did not vote in favour of cancellation of the primary as claimed by Tinubu.

Odigie-Oyegun said the allegation made by Tinubu’s media office “was a figment of someone’s wild imagination.”

He said, “On Thursday, September 22, 2016, being the final day for submission of candidate by political parties, the NWC discussed the possibility of voting having finished deliberation on the 2016 Ondo State APC Governorship Primary  Appeal Committee Report because members in support of cancelling the primary results were still strident in their position.

“A member of the NWC, however, drew the attention of the meeting to its previous decision in which the report of the primary election committee was adopted while the appeal committee’s was set aside. The implication of this decision, he reasoned, was that a decision to submit the name of the winner of the primary election was already taken unless the NWC would now wish to reconsider its earlier decision.” Read in full

Donald Trump issues second apology over tape of sex assault boast

Trump scandal

Donald Trump has made a second apology after a tape emerged of him making lewd remarks and boasting about groping women.

In a statement released tonight he admitted his words were "foolish" and that "Anyone who knows me, knows these words don't reflect who I am."

“I said it, I was wrong, and I apologise,” Trump added.

The Republican presidential candidate went on "I never said I was perfect", before going on to say campaigning around the country in recent months has "changed" him.

However, he went on to describe the tape as "nothing more than a distraction" from the "real world" problems facing America.

In the video released by the Washington Post earlier today, Trump is heard saying: "when you're a star... you can do anything."

The clip, filmed in 2005 as Trump chatted with Access Hollywood presenter Billy Bush, appears to have been captured as Bush accompanied the presidential candidate to a soap opera set.

It begins with just audio of the two chatting, with both men's microphones switched on.

And Mr Trump can be heard saying: “I did try and f*** her. She was married.

“And I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping . She wanted to get some furniture.

"I said, ‘I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture.’ I moved on her like a bitch, but I couldn’t get there. And she was married.”

They can then be heard gasping over another woman, thought to be actress Arianne Zucker, who arrives to meet the pair.

And Trump then adds: “I’ve gotta use some tic tacs, just in case I start kissing her. More

James Ibori to appeal UK conviction on grounds that ‘British police were bribed’

For Gov. James Ibori to appeal UK conviction on grounds that ‘British police were bribed’

James Ibori, a former governor of Delta State, jailed in Britain for corruption, is very likely to appeal against his conviction on the grounds that British police and lawyers involved in his case were themselves corrupt, a London court heard on Friday.

Ibori, who as governor of oil-producing Delta State from 1999 to 2007 became one of Nigeria’s richest and most powerful men, is serving a 13-year sentence after pleading guilty in 2012 to 10 counts of fraud and money-laundering.

While in office, Ibori acquired luxury properties in Britain, the United States, South Africa and Nigeria. He is the most senior Nigerian politician to have been held to account for the corruption that has blighted Africa’s most populous nation.

His jailing in Britain, where he had laundered millions of pounds and sent his children to an expensive private school, was hailed as a high point in the international fight against graft and an important signal to other corrupt politicians.

But his lawyer Ivan Krolick told Southwark Crown Court on Friday that Ibori was “95 percent certain” to challenge his conviction in the Court of Appeal based on documents that have only recently been disclosed to the defence by the prosecution.

At the same hearing, Stephen Kamlish, a lawyer for Ibori associate and convicted money launderer Bhadresh Gohil, said the documents showed there had been widespread police corruption followed by a cover-up that was still going on now.

The main allegation is that a police officer involved in the Ibori probe took payments for information in 2007 from a firm of private detectives working on Ibori’s behalf. At the time, Ibori had not been arrested and was still in Nigeria, but knew that British police were investigating his finances.

Kamlish said prosecution lawyers had known there was evidence of police corruption but had failed to disclose it to defence lawyers. Krolick told Reuters on the sidelines of Friday’s court hearing that Ibori did not know about the payments at the time.

Prosecution says convictions are valid

The police have said that the allegation was thoroughly investigated and that no one was arrested or charged, and no misconduct identified. The officer against whom the allegations have been made is still in active service.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), after a lengthy internal investigation, said in September it was confident that the convictions of Ibori and Gohil remained valid.

The CPS has said it found “material to support the assertion that a police officer received payment in return for information”. It did not use the word “evidence”, suggesting it did not consider the material in question amounted to proof.

But the CPS conceded in September that the material should have been disclosed to the defence, and handed over thousands of documents to defence lawyers. Those were the documents that Kamlish and Krolick were referring to in court on Friday.

Gohil has already filed an appeal against his conviction. Krolick said Ibori was likely to do so once his legal team had finished going through all the newly disclosed documents.

As is normal under British procedures, Ibori is due to be released in December after serving half his sentence, taking into account pre-trial detention. Gohil, a British former lawyer, has already been released after serving half of a 10-year term for his role in laundering Ibori’s millions.

One of Ibori’s lawyers told Reuters it was not clear whether he would be able to return to Nigeria immediately, because legal proceedings concerning the confiscation of assets of his, worth tens of millions of dollars, were unresolved.

They were supposed to have been resolved years ago, but have ground to a halt due to the allegations of police corruption and the prospect of Ibori taking his case to the Court of Appeal.

HOW TO LOVE - Billy Graham

Saturday, 08 October 2016

Bible Text: These things I command you, that ye love one another. - John 15:17

How are we to love? We are to love as God loves us . . . we are to show acceptance and appreciation . . . [to] accept each other as God accepts us. Too many parents refuse to accept and appreciate their children for what they are. That is why a million American children ran away from home last year. A team of Yale researchers has concluded that the majority of these runaways were attempting to escape an unhappy family situation. They yearned to be appreciated.

The causes of delinquency, we are told, are broken homes, poverty, lack of recreational facilities, poor physical health, racism, working mothers, and so on . . . The experts never seem to mention the lack of love, or the lack of faith in God. Yet these are the two most important elements for an adolescent’s successful maturity.

How long has it been since you praised your children instead of criticizing them? David prayed for Solomon and daily praised him, and we are to praise our children daily. Praise your wife. I have found that praise goes a lot further than criticism. Everybody needs to be appreciated.

Prayer for the day: It is so easy to criticize those close to me; but Lord, give me Your unreserved love so that they may know how deeply I appreciate them.

DCLM DAILY MANNA DEVOTIONAL: Exchange of Power - Pastor W.F Kumuyi

Saturday, 08 October 2016

Bible Text: Esther 9:29-32

Key Verse: "Then Esther the queen, the daughter of Abihail, and Mordecai the Jew, wrote with all authority, to confirm this second letter of Purim" (Esther 9:29).

"No one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it", says George Orwell, 1984. When Haman was promoted to great honour and power in the palace at Shushan, he used it to crush the innocent with no intention of relinquishing it. But power eventually changed hands; the authority now firmly in the hands of Esther and Mordecai, who wrote to confirm the Feast of Purim to all the Jews in the one hundred and twenty-seven provinces under king Ahasuerus.

The document which was now a ‘decree' was treated as an official document and an authentic law that must be obeyed. This was a dramatic change of circumstances when one considers the state of things just a few weeks from thence. Haman eventually came to his waterloo. He became an embarrassment to the nation by his draconian use of delegated authority to promulgate a decree to crush poor and innocent Jews.

A day eventually came when he must keep the inevitable appointment with fate. He was hanged on his own gallows, which he prepared to hang Mordecai, thus significantly altering the power equation that existed at that time. Not only was Haman's estate handed over to the queen, but the king's ring that was given to him was given to his archenemy, Mordecai. With the tables now turned, Mordecai could now govern with justice, equity and the fear of God.

As a believer, you may be languishing under the yoke of the tyranny of man or the many afflictions brought by the devil to crush and shame you. Like Esther and Mordecai, you must take your matters to God until there is a change in your circumstances. You must never give up until your victory is assured.

Thought for the day: God has the capacity to change the power equation in every life

SEED OF FAITH - Kenneth Copeland

Saturday, 08 October 2016

Key Verse: For verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. - Matthew 17:20

Someone once said that the reason I can live like I do is because I have "special faith." But, you know, that's just not true. I don't have "special faith." God has given me the same measure of faith He's given to you and every other believer. The only reason my faith looks like it works better is because I use it!

If you've been living in the shadow of a mountain, waiting for God to give you some kind of special faith, make a change today. Step out and put the measure of faith you have to work moving the spiritual, physical, mental or financial obstacles Satan has brought against you.

Romans 12:3 says God has dealt to every man the measure of faith. Believe Him! Step out in faith about that faith! Say, "Heavenly Father, I thank You that through faith in Jesus Christ, You have shared Your nature and Your Spirit with me. I am grateful for the measure of faith imparted to me as a believer.

"I make the decision today to walk in that faith—to put it to work on the situations around me. I commit myself to operate in mountain-moving faith, for I know that it is impossible to please You without it (Hebrews 11:6).

"As I plant this faith and water it with Your Word (Romans 10:17), I expect it to grow and overcome the mountains in my life and in the lives of those for whom I intercede.

"Thank You, Father, that as I do this, nothing shall be impossible to me! In Jesus' Name. Amen."

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL: Divine Provision - Pastor E.A Adeboye

Saturday, 08 October 2016

Memorise: But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:19

Read: Matthew 17:24-27 (KJV)

24 And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute?

25 He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?

26 Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free.

27 Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.

Bible in One Year: Ezekiel 42:1-44:14, Psalms 76

Divine provision is in play when you know that what you have is not by your strength, power or ability. For example, when you work like a rat and you get the wages of an elephant without being fraudulent, you can be sure that the blessing is from above. On the contrary, when a man works like an elephant and all he can show for his labour is the wages of a rat, you can be sure that the fellow needs divine provision. The reason for the last scenario is the fall of man which earned him a curse associated with poverty and suffering. As a matter of fact, every man, particularly a child of God, needs divine provision to be able to make ends meet. This is the reason Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, told the Church at Philippi that God will supply all their needs according to His riches in glory through Jesus Christ, who has taken care of the sin that brought hardship and insufficiency to the life of man.

Divine provision begins with the provision God made for the atonement of our sins. God gave His only begotten Son as provision for our sins. John 3:16-17 says:

“16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

Having settled the problem of sin, the Lord now makes available to us the abundance of His riches, The death of Jesus Christ cancelled the curse that subjected us to a life of penury and made available to us divine provision. 2 Corinthians 8:9 says:

“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.”

He demonstrated this by the thousands he fed with that incredibly small meal which He multiplied just so that the need of the people will be met. Also, in the Bible reading for today, divine provision came forth to meet His personal need and that of Peter from the mouth of a fish. I pray for someone reading this devotional today; the Almighty will cause His divine provision to come upon you and meet you at the point of your needs in Jesus’ name.

Prayer Point: Father, I present my needs to you today, please meet them all in Jesus’ name.
