BREAKING: Bodies of 112 migrants recovered from the Mediterranean Sea

One hundred and twelve bodies have been recovered after a boat carrying hundreds of migrants capsized off the coast of Egypt this week.. Khaled Megahed, spokesman of the Egyptian health ministry, told reporters that 55 bodies were found, bringing the number of the dead victims to 112 until now.

“The toll is likely to increase as the search operations continue,’’ he said.

The bodies retrieved were those of Egyptians, other Arab nationals and Africans.

Fifty-seven other bodies were recovered in the past two days after the boat sank on Wednesday off the Egyptian coastal town of Rosetta.

However, reports gave conflicting figures for the exact number of people aboard the boat, while one report gave an estimate of 400, another said the vessel was carrying at least 300 people.

The boat passengers included Egyptians, Syrians, Sudanese nationals, Somalis and Eritreans.

Authorities succeeded in rescuing 163 people, including 123 Egyptians, from the accident.

In recent years, Egypt has seen an increase in migrants trying to travel across the Mediterranean Sea to Europe.

Regional turmoil and high unemployment rates are said to be the main factors behind the risky journeys.

Pregnant Cheryl spotted for the first time after rumour

Cheryl has finally returned to social media - through her PREGNANCY
Cheryl has been pictured for the first time since it was sensationally claimed she's 'ready for a baby' with her boyfriend Liam Payne.

The star has taken some time away from social media recently, only sharing promos for adverts she's been working on.

However, fans went into meltdown last night as her PR team added a surprise snap on Twitter of her posing for a cheeky selfie between takes on a mystery shoot.

Showing off her slim figure in a grey jumper, the brunette beauty revealed her flawless complexion and defined cheekbones in the close-up photo.

It was captioned: "SNAPPED! @cherylofficial taking a selfie in between takes on set."

She looked far from her appearance in her recent L'Oreal advert, which sparked its own social media frenzy as fans commented on the former X Factor judge's changed look.

The photo even began to spark pregnancy rumours, as she showed off a fuller face. Neither her nor Liam have commented on the speculation.

Buhari said the looters recruited the militants to sabotage the oil infrastructure

The president said the nation loses millions daily due to activities of the militants

Those who looted Nigeria’s treasury in the past are behind the militants in the Niger Delta region, says President Muhammadu Buihari.

President Buhari said past looters of the treasury are behind the resurgence of militancy in the Niger Delta region, stressing that they are the reasons the nation is battling recession. According to him:

“Those who stole Nigeria dry are not happy. They recruited the militants against us in the Niger Delta, and began to sabotage oil infrastructure. We lose millions of barrels per day, at a time when every dollar we can earn, counts. It is a disgrace that a minimum of 27 states, out of 36 that we have in Nigeria, can’t pay salaries.

In a statement by his special adviser media, Femi Adesina, President Buhari was speaking to top rate Nigerian professionals based in the United States of America, whom Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Diaspora Matters and International Relations, described as “15 of the best people God ever created”.

The professionals were in New York to meet with the Nigerian President. Top flight aeronautics engineers, physicians, I.T experts, a Judge, a top policewoman, entrepreneurs, an Import Specialist at Customs and Border Protection, professors, two straight A students, and many others.

The parley provided President Buhari opportunity to bring them up to speed on how and why Nigeria got into trouble, with an assurance that with all hands on deck, including the best brains in the Diaspora, the country would bounce back in the shortest possible time. “I am very pleased with this meeting,” President Buhari stated.

“Wherever you go in the world, you find highly competent and outstanding Nigerians. They not only make great impact on their host countries and communities, their financial remittances back home also help our economy, particularly at a time like this, when things are down.

“We got into trouble as a country, because we did not save for the rainy day. For example, between 1999 and 2015, when we produced an average of 2.1 million barrels of oil per day, and oil prices stood at an average of $100 per barrel, we did not save, neither did we develop infrastructure. Suddenly, when we came in 2015, oil prices fell to about 30 dollars per barrel.

“I asked; where are the savings? There were none. Where are the railways? The roads? Power? None. I further asked; what did we do with billions of dollars that we made over the years? They said we bought food. Food with billions of dollars? I did not believe, and still do not believe.

“In most parts of Nigeria, we eat what we grow. People in the South eat tubers, those in the North eat grains, which they plant, and those constitute over 60 per cent of what we eat. So, where did the billions of dollars go? We did a lot of damage to ourselves by not developing infrastructure when we had the money.

“Talking of our military, they earned respect serving in places like Burma, Zaire, Sudan, Liberia, Sierra-Leone, and then, suddenly, that same military could no longer secure 14 out of 774 local governments in the country. Insurgents had seized them, calling them some sort of caliphate, and planting their flags there; till we came, and scattered them.

“We raised the morale of our military, changed the leadership, re-equipped and retrained them; USA, Britain, and some other countries helped us, and today, the pride of our military is restored.

“Boko Haram ran riot, killing innocent people in churches, mosques, markets, schools, motor parks, and so on. And they would then shout Allahu Akbar. But if they truly knew Allah, they would not do such evil. Neither Islam, nor any other religion I know of, advocates hurting the innocent. But they shed innocent blood, killed people in their thousands. Now, we have dealt with that insurgency, and subverted their recruitment base.”

“But I prayed so hard for God to make me President. I ran in 2003, 2007, 2011, and in 2015, He did. And see what I met on ground. But I can’t complain, since I prayed for the job. In the military, I rose from 2nd Lieutenant to Major-General. I was military governor in 1975 over a state that is now six states. I was head of state, got detained for three years, and headed the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF), which had N53 billion of that time in Nigerian banks.

“God has been very good to me, so I can’t complain. If I feel hurt by anybody, I ask God to help me forgive. He has done so much for me. “After 16 years of a different party in government, no party will come and have things easy. It’s human. We need quality hands to run Nigeria, and we will utilize them. I will like to welcome you home when it’s time. But I’ll like you to be ready.”

All the Nigerian professionals pledged to contribute their quota towards re-launching their fatherland to a new dawn.

Regular Sex Keeps You Healthy

Couples enjoying themselves
Research have shown that men who have intercourse no less than two times in a week can almost halve their risk of heart disease, another examination says. The study, which was led with more than 1,000 men, depicts s*x as a movement that includes extraordinary physical and passionate components. S*x might be a marker for a solid heart since s*x can be a type of physical movement, which, similar to work out, gives your heart a workout.

Whoever desire frequent s*x  and are able to get it, are likely to be healthier than others. Men who have regular s*x may also be in a supportive relationship, which offers stress reduction and emotional benefits.

Frequent s*x is so beneficial that when you see a doctor he is likely to ask many questions about your s*x so as to find out about your overall health condition. Apparently s*x is not only good for your heart; it also keeps many diseases at bay.

For example, s*x can actually cause you to get fewer colds.

Research has shown that couples who have s*x weekly have a 30 per cent increase in immunoglobulin A, which is an antibody that fights infection. S*x can also help women have a more predictable period schedule, as a result of being exposed to male pheromones.

In addition, having s*x reduces stress – for physiological as well as emotional reasons. Anything that will reduce stress is good for you as too much stress can lead to many diseases including cancer. S*x activates a nerve that has a calming effect. Having s*x also lowers blood pressure, which reduces the risk of heart disease.

S*x can even reduce LDL (“bad”) cholesterol and increase HDL (“good”) cholesterol.

These are the good  results that a healthy s*x life can give you:

Fewer colds because of an increase in immunoglobulin A, an antibody that fights infection.
Women can get more predictable periods because of exposure to male pheromones.

A better physical response to stress.
Lower blood pressure, which lowers your risk of heart disease.
Lowers your bad cholesterol and increase your good cholesterol.
Helps to tone your abs, gluts and pretty much any muscle in your body.
Naturally increases estrogen level which improves the appearance of your hair, skin and nails.
Helps to improve your memory because of increased blood flow to your brain.
Increased feelings of motivation because of the release of endorphins.
As you can see, a good s*x life is one way to stay happy, healthy and fit. So if your doctor starts grilling you about your bedroom habits, you will know why. And this is only the tip of the iceberg.

S*x has also been found to boost self-esteem and improve intimacy in your relationship. This is because s*x and orgasms result in increased levels of the hormone oxytocin — the “love” hormone – that helps you to feel bonded to your partner.

As oxytocin increases, so do hormones known as endorphins, which in turn lessens feelings of pain related to everything from headaches and arthritis to symptoms of menopause. It can also help you to get a better night’s sleep.

Further, for women, having s*x can help strengthen the muscles of your pelvic floor (the same ones used to stop urination). As you age, having strong pelvic floor muscles reduces your risk of accidents.

Of course, these benefits are assuming that you’re having s*x with a mutually monogamous partner – otherwise you risk catching a s*xually transmitted disease.

S*xual pleasure begins in your brain

Your brain and nervous system control your s*x glands and genitals. This is why they also control your s*xual desire, as well as orgasms. It explains why, for example, visual images trigger s*xual desire in both sexes.

Your brain stem also emits nerve impulses that control erectile function. These nerve impulses navigate through the erection center of your spinal column to the erectile tissue of your penis where they trigger a chain reaction in the membranes of your vascular muscle cells. This sophisticated chain reaction depends on a messenger molecule called cyclic guanosine monophosphate, or cGMP.

However, this works in reverse as well. An erection softens as soon as another enzyme called phosphodiesterase starts to degrade the cGMP molecules.

Drugs like Viagra, Levitra and Cialis work by inhibiting phosphodiesterase, which may help maintain your erection. But, these pills will not lead to an erection. Your initial erection still has to be triggered psychologically. Without that initial impetus, potency pills will have no effect whatsoever. This is also why these pills are ineffective for many men who take them hoping for a magic jack-in-the box effect.

As you might suspect, because your s*xuality is so intimately tied to your mind, anxiety, defensiveness, fear, and failure of communication are all destructive psychological forces that can take a heavy toll on your libido, whether you’re a man or a woman. They are road blocks to desire. So handle them.

According to Professor Gert Holstege of the University of Groningen in the Nederlands, “Fear and anxiety need to be avoided at all costs if a woman wishes to have an orgasm.”

How to improve s*xual desire naturally-

If you would like to take advantage of some of the health benefits that regular s*xual activity has to offer, yet find that your desire just isn’t what it used to be, there are many natural tips that can help.

Your s*xual fires may also be fanned simply by eating less sugar. High levels of sugar in your bloodstream can actually turn off the gene that controls your s*x hormones.

Four other tips to give your libido a big-time boost include:

Getting physically active. Studies have shown that men who engaged in regular physical activity lowered their risk of experiencing sexual dysfunction. Remember, when using exercise as a drug, it’s important to vary your routine.

Charlotte protests diminish early on Friday as family views video

UNITED STATES - Largely peaceful protests dwindled early on Friday in Charlotte, North Carolina, as police chose not to enforce a curfew prompted by two nights of riots that engulfed the city after a black man was shot to death by a police officer.

A crowd of hundreds gathered, chanted and marched for a third successive night in the state's largest city, demanding justice for Keith Scott, 43, who was shot dead by a black police officer in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Tuesday afternoon.

Police fired tear gas and non-lethal projectiles to break up crowds blocking traffic on a highway. National Guard troops backed up a robust police presence in the town center, helping to restrain protesters chanting "Whose streets? Our streets," as helicopters circled overhead.

The Charlotte Police Department said on Twitter that two officers were treated after they were sprayed with a chemical agent by demonstrators and that no civilians were injured on Thursday.

Despite the brief outbursts, the demonstrations were calmer than those on the previous two nights. Rioters had smashed storefront windows, looted businesses and thrown objects at police, prompting officials to declare a state of emergency and the city's mayor to enact a curfew.

A protester shot on Wednesday died on Thursday, nine people were injured, and 44 were arrested in riots on Wednesday and Thursday morning.

Scott's death is the latest to stir passions in the United States over the police use of deadly force against black men. Protests have asserted racial bias and excessive force by police and have given rise to the Black Lives Matter movement.

His family viewed videos of the episode on Thursday and asked for them to be made public, stepping up the pressure for their release.

In an interview with Reuters early Friday, Justin Bamberg, one of the lawyers who is representing Scott's family, said the video shows that the 43-year-old did not make any aggressive moves toward police.

"There’s nothing in that video that shows him acting aggressively, threatening or maybe dangerous," Bamberg said.

Scott, who suffered head trauma in a bad car accident a year ago, was moving slowly as he got out of the car, he said.

"He’s not an old man, but he’s moving like an old man" in the video, Bamberg said.

Earlier in the day, Bamberg said in a statement that it was "impossible to discern" from the videos what, if anything, Scott was holding in his hands.

Police say Scott was carrying a gun when he approached officers and ignored repeated orders to drop it. His family previously said he was holding a book, not a firearm, and now says it has more questions than answers after viewing two videos recorded by police body cameras.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Kerr Putney has said the video supported the police account of what happened but does not definitively show Scott pointing a gun at officers.

In contrast to the tension in Charlotte, calm reigned in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where police released a video of the fatal shooting of Terence Crutcher, shot by police last week after his vehicle broke down on a highway. The officer who fired her gun was charged with first-degree manslaughter on Thursday.

U.S. President Barack Obama called the mayors of both cities on Wednesday to offer condolences and assistance. On Thursday, he urged protesters to maintain the peace, while still addressing concerns of racial inequality.

6 died of cholera in Lagos, 39 under observation

Six people have died of cholera in  Isolo  Local Government Area  of Lagos State after eating contaminated Abacha, a local delicacy of the people of the South-East geopolitical zone.

The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Jide Idris, who briefed the press about the development at  the state’s secretariat on Thursday,  stated that 39 other persons  were under observation and receiving treatment  at public and private health facilities in Isolo.

Cholera is an acute diarrhoea disease with or without vomiting caused by a bacteria referred to as vibro cholerae and it is transmitted through ingestion of food or water contaminated with infected faeces.

Idris, who stated that seven out of the 15 samples taken to the Public Health Laboratory, Yaba,  after an upsurge of diarrhoea cases was reported in some communities in Isolo, tested positive to vibro cholerae.

He stated, “Six deaths were recorded among the 45 cases. Majority of the patients did not present with the classical rice-water stool, rather they presented with atypical diarrhoea and vomiting.

“After a thorough analysis of the  ano-rectal swabs that were collected from 15 cases,  vibrio cholerae was confirmed  and found to be the Ogawa strain of the virus.

“Twenty-two of the 26 that  were  being managed at the Isolo General Hospital and the Lagos Mainland Hospital have been discharged, one  died, while three are still on admission at the Lagos Mainland Hospital. The three patients are still on admission but they are in stable condition.”

The commissioner noted that water and food analysis done at the Lagos State Drug Quality Control Laboratory showed that Abacha, a local salad,  that was eaten by many of the victims, was the source of the infection.

Idris said, “The main suspected source of infection is the salad called Abacha, a staple food  that is consumed regularly in the area. Samples of the local salad and the well water they consume in the area revealed the presence of vibrio cholerae, Salmonella species and E.coli in Abacha and the water sample taken from one of the two wells in the area.”

Hackers stole data from 500 million accounts in 2014 - Yahoo

Yahoo Inc (YHOO.O) said on Thursday that at least 500 million of its accounts were hacked in 2014 by what it believed was a state-sponsored actor, a theft that appeared to be the world's biggest known cyber breach by far.

Cyber thieves may have stolen names, email addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth and encrypted passwords, the company said. But unprotected passwords, payment card data and bank account information did not appear to have been compromised, signaling that some of the most valuable user data was not taken.

The attack on Yahoo was unprecedented in size, more than triple other large attacks on sites such as eBay Inc (EBAY.O), and it comes to light at a difficult time for Yahoo.

Chief Executive Officer Marissa Mayer is under pressure to shore up the flagging fortunes of the site founded in 1994, and the company in July agreed to a $4.83 billion cash sale of its internet business to Verizon Communications Inc (VZ.N).

"This is the biggest data breach ever," said well-known cryptologist Bruce Schneier, adding that the impact on Yahoo and its users remained unclear because many questions remain, including the identity of the state-sponsored hackers behind it.

On its website on Thursday, Yahoo encouraged users to change their passwords but did not require it.

Although the attack happened in 2014, Yahoo only discovered the incursion after August reports of a separate breach. While that report turned out to be false, Yahoo's investigation turned up the 2014 theft, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Analyst Robert Peck of SunTrust Robinson Humphrey said the breach probably was not enough to prompt Verizon to abandon its deal with Yahoo, but it could call for a price decrease of $100 million to $200 million, depending on how many users leave Yahoo.

Steven Caponi, an attorney at K&L Gates with a practice including merger litigation, said that Yahoo's breach could fall under the "material adverse change" clause common in mergers allowing a buyer to walk away if its target's value deteriorates.

"That would give Verizon the opportunity to renegotiate the terms or potentially walk away from the transaction if it is a material change. Whether it is a material change will depend in large part on what kind of information was compromised," Caponi said.

Still, it is rare for mergers to fall apart over material changes. Verizon said in a statement it was made aware of the breach within the last two days and had limited information about the matter.

"We will evaluate as the investigation continues through the lens of overall Verizon interests," the company said.

Shares of Yahoo stock closed a penny higher at $44.15, while shares of Verizon, were up about 1 percent.

The Yahoo breach follows a rising number of other large-scale data attacks and could make it a watershed event that prompts government and businesses to put more effort into bolstering defenses, said Dan Kaminsky, a well-known internet security expert.

Retailers and health insurers have been especially hard hit after high-profile breaches at Home Depot Inc (HD.N), Target Corp (TGT.N), Anthem Inc (ANTM.N) and Premera Blue Cross.

"Five hundred of the Fortune 500 have been hacked," he said. "If anything has changed, it's that these attacks are getting publicly disclosed."

Three U.S. intelligence officials, who declined to be identified by name, said they believed the attack was state-sponsored because of its resemblance to previous hacks traced to Russian intelligence agencies or hackers acting at their direction.

Yahoo said it was working with law enforcement on the matter, and the FBI said it was investigating.

"The investigation has found no evidence that the state-sponsored actor is currently in Yahoo's network," the company said.

While the breach comprised mostly low-value information, it did include security questions and answers created by users themselves. That data could make users vulnerable if they use the same answers on other sites.

A former Yahoo employee said the Q&A were deliberately left unencrypted, which allowed Yahoo to catch fake accounts more easily because fake accounts tended to reuse questions and answers.

News of the massive breach at one of the nation's largest email providers may fan concern that U.S. companies and government agencies are not doing enough to improve cyber security.

Democratic Senator Mark Warner said in a statement he was "most troubled by news that this breach occurred in 2014, and yet the public is only learning details of it today."

Technology website Recode first reported Tuesday that Yahoo planned to disclose details about a data breach affecting hundreds of millions of users.

Nigerian Dangote plans to own Arsenal in next three years

Arsenal Football club
Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote, has not given up on his plan to acquire Arsenal. The Nigerian reportedly worth $10.9bn says he plans to take over the club by the end of the decade.

Dangote stated last year that he was prepared to pay any sum to take ownership of the Premier League club away from Stan Kroenke.

Dangote, a lifelong Arsenal fan whose fortune is largely tied up in Dangote Cement, is reported to have lost $4.4bn this year due largely to the depreciation of Nigeria’s currency

But the 59-year-old says he still plans to complete a takeover of the Gunners before the end of the decade once his latest ventures in gas pipelines and an oil refinery have developed.

“Maybe three to four years,” he told Bloomberg Television when asked when he intended to buy the club. “The issue is that we have more challenging headwinds. I need to get those out of the way first and start having tailwinds. Then I’ll focus on this.”

Dangote believes his success in the business world proves he is the right man to transform Arsenal’s fortunes, after years of relative stagnation under Kroenke and manager Arsene Wenger.

“It’s not about buying Arsenal and just continuing with business as usual,” he said. “It’s about buying Arsenal and turning it around.

“I’ve run a very successful business and I think I can also run a very successful team. Right now, with what we’re facing, over 20billion dollars of projects, I cannot do both.”

Kroenke, who has been criticised by fans for a perceived lack of interest in the team’s on-pitch successes, increased his majority shareholding to 67.05 per cent in May.

Alisher Uzmanov, the Russian billionaire who owns a 30.04 per cent stake in the club, moved to deny rumours last month that he was considering selling his shares, insisting that he sees the Gunners as “a long-term investment for family and future generations”.

Arsenal, who dispatched Nottingham Forest 4-0 in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, have won three, drawn one and lost one of their opening five Premier League games this season.

Bible Text: ...who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able . . - 1 Corinthians 10:13

It is Satan’s purpose to steal the seed of truth from your heart by sending distracting thoughts. It should encourage you to know that the devil considers you a good enough Christian to use as a target.

The difference between a Christian and a non-Christian is: though they both may have good and evil thoughts, Christ gives His followers strength to select the right rather than the wrong. You see a man going to prayer meeting with a Bible under his arm. That man was undoubtedly tempted to stay at home, go bowling, or to some other activity. But, as these diverse thoughts came to his mind, he made the right selection, and headed for the church.

Another man walks through the night to a bar. It no doubt occurred to him that he had best stay home with his family. But he yielded to the negative thought, and gave in to his lower appetites.

It is not the temptations you have, but the decision you make about them that counts.

Prayer for the day:
Decisions will have to be made each day, Lord. With Your strength and wisdom, help me to make the right ones

Key Verse: Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you... - James 4:8

Remember when you first got into the Word and were so excited about the things of God? Remember when you could hardly wait to read the next chapter in the Bible or listen to the latest teaching tape? There was only one word to describe you—hot! Your reborn spirit was on fire for God.

When Ken and I first heard the message of faith, we were like that. We were so on fire that nothing else in the world interested us. We had learned that we could trust God’s Word just like we could trust the word of a close friend, and we were hungry to find out everything He had promised us in His Word.

Back then, it seemed all I did was read God’s Word. I read faith books. I listened to tapes. I was dedicated. My total interest was the Word of God.

But slowly that changed. At first I didn’t even realize it was happening. Then the Holy Spirit went to work on me and showed me that I had grown lukewarm. I had let the fire die down. I still read the Word, but I had lost my enthusiasm.

Maybe you’ve had this same experience. If so, I want to tell you how to get the fire back. It worked for me and it will work for you.

God’s Word says to draw near to Him and He will draw near to you. In order to do that you will have to first drop the things that are stealing your time from reading the Word. Delight yourself in His Word. Become diligent again. If you will give your attention to the things of God, soon your desire for God will increase. Your desire will follow your attention. The more you attend to something, the more your desire is drawn to give attention to that thing.

I can show you that this is a natural principle. If you play golf, you’ll go for months at a time without even thinking about it. Then one day you’ll make time in your schedule to go to the course and play a round or two. The next day you may want to play again. Your desire gets stronger and stronger the more you play.

This same thing will happen in the spirit realm. Your soul’s desire will follow whatever you spend your time doing. Start building yourself up by praying in the spirit. Believe and act on everything God says to you. Before long that flicker that’s been wavering in your spirit will grow again into an all-consuming fire!

Memorise: Pray without ceasing. 1st Thessalonians 5:17

Read: James 5:13-16(KJV)

13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Bible in one year: Ezekiel 7-9, Psalms 66:10-20

Prayer is a means of communicating with God, it is primarily offered by addressing God directly in the name of Jesus. Prayer may include petition, entreaty, supplication, thanksgiving, praise, hymns, and lament. The Bible stresses the importance of prayer and commends a life of prayer that is characterized by simplicity of expression, sincerity of heart and trust in God’s ability. It is important to note that prayer plays a vital role in our quest to access more of God’s glory. It is a ladder we can climb to enter into God’s presence. The more you pray, the more of His presence you will encounter, leading you into more of His glory. At the mount of Transfiguration, when the Lord moved His prayer gear to a higher level, He saw Himself in the presence of His Father and His clothes shone with God’s glory (Luke 9:29).

After this experience, Jesus returned to the domains of men, empowered to gain victory over men, demons and challenges that came His way. Prayer is the sure answer and the ultimate solution to all problems and challenges of life. God commanded us to pray in Jeremiah 33:3 by saying:

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”

Through the instrumentality of prayer, there is no problem too big that cannot be solved; the issue is: many people are too lazy to pray their way into God’s presence to enable them access the level of glory they require to reign over Satan, situations, circumstances and their fears. Wake up! Rise up in prayer and begin to pray your way into His presence today! Bear in mind the evil judgment and all manners of calamities always befall those that do not pray. God wants His children to develop the habit of praying always, 1st Thessalonians 5:17 says: “Pray without ceasing”; Romans 12:12 talks about “…Continuing instant in prayer”; and Luke 18:1 says, “….men ought always to pray, and not to faint.” Children of God have no excuse for operating a prayer-less life. James 4:2 says:

“Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.”

The Word of God makes it very clear that the failure of many among the people of God is not due to laziness, lack of ambition, or poor preparation, but to a lack of prayer. According to 2nd Chronicles 7:14

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray…”

Many personal problems of individual Christians and some corporate challenges in the Body of Christ will turn to testimonies if any God’s people will pray.

Prayer Point: Father, please rekindle the fire of prayer in my life in Jesus’ name.

Bible Text: Leviticus 11:1-12

Key Verse: "And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth" (Leviticus 11:1,2).

God is the creator of heaven and earth and all that are therein. The Bible tells us that all His creation is good. It therefore, means that both the "clean" and the "unclean" animals have their individual purposes to fulfill in their existence. To that extent, no one has the right to question the wisdom of God in creation.

This chapter deals with foods that may or may not be clean for consumption. It is written to instruct the Israelites concerning clean and unclean things, an instruction which has no moral or ethical effect with reference to personal relationships, nor is the concept of "clean" and "unclean" unique. When God gave these instructions, there were health reasons attached to them. He often pronounced something as unclean in order to preserve the health of the people. However, in making the pronouncement that something is clean or unclean, it became a command; thus, godliness was determined by one's obedience to such command.

This probably gave birth to the common phrase "cleanliness is next to godliness", a maxim not found in the Scriptures. For the Israelites, keeping the "cleanliness" command of the law was manifesting one's godliness in obedience to God. Obedience to God's commands is not optional. He demands it, implicitly, from every believer. The standard has not diminished. Whatever instruction He gives is meant to preserve the sanctity of the society and must be obeyed. As Israel kept this command by avoiding unclean animals and birds; believers must ensure they touch no unclean thing as they bear the mark of Christ in their bodies.

The Bible is explicit on behaviours that are foul to Him. Believers must therefore, commit themselves to doing things that gladden God's heart. It is rebellious to query or probe the reasons for God's commands. As servants, our duty is to "just obey".

Thought for the day: Obedience always brings blessings

SCRIPTURE: Don't be selfish; don't live to make a good impression on others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourself. Don't just think about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and in what they are doing. – Philippians 2:3-4 (The Living Bible).

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If you cannot point to anyone you are raising; then, it is possible that your life is wasting.

It has been established that our God is a God of love; He is love personified (1 John 4:8) and He created us in His image of love (Genesis 1:26). But the devil always strives to rob us of the love nature of God by replacing God’s love with hatred in our hearts.

The nature of the devil is the nature of hatred, but people of character and godliness are filled with God’s love.

What are the proofs of genuine love?
1. Living with others in mind.
A person who loves his neighbour lives with the consciousness of how his action can impact on others; he lives to protect the wellbeing and interests of others.

2. Investing in people.
Love brings the best out of people. Love raises people. If you cannot point to anyone you are raising; then, it is possible that your life is wasting.

3. Not given to envy and jealousy.
One who loves his neighbour does not live in bitterness and ‘unforgiveness’.

4. Celebrating people.
Love celebrates other people. The process of celebrating people is the process of developing genuine interest in the lives of others.

Remember this: If you cannot point to anyone you are raising; then, it is possible that your life is wasting.

1. Endeavour to love people unconditionally
2. In everything you do, consider the impact of your actions on others.
3. Be interested in others. Decide to put a smile on someone’s face today.

PRAYER: O LORD, give me the grace to celebrate people and to live an impactful life in Jesus’ Name.
