Manchester City Yaya Toure won't see the pitch until he apologises to all - Guardiola

Manchester City
Yaya Toure will not play again for Manchester City until the player’s camp apologises for comments made by his agent, manager Pep Guardiola vowed on Tuesday.

Dimitri Seluk accused the City manager of “humiliating” Toure, 33, by leaving him out of the club’s Champions League squad at the start of this month.

The Ivorian midfielder, who announced his retirement from international duty on Tuesday, has not figured in a single City match-day squad since then.

“The day after that, his agent spoke and in that moment, Yaya is out,” Guardiola told a press conference.

“Unless Mr Dimitri Seluk comes back to the press or to his friends in the media – because he hasn’t the courage to call me, he goes to the media – and apologises to Manchester City first of all, then his team-mates and afterwards the trainer…

“When that happens, Yaya will be part of the group and he will have the chance to play.”

While Guardiola said that Seluk should say sorry for his comments, the club later indicated the manager wanted an apology from Toure.

Toure has recovered from a migraine that made him unavailable for Saturday’s 4-0 Premier League win over Bournemouth, but he will not be considered for Wednesday’s League Cup tie at Swansea City.

Seluk had said: “If he (Guardiola) wins the Champions League for City this season, then I will travel to England and I will say on television that Pep Guardiola is the best manager in the world.

“But if City don’t win the Champions League, then I hope that Pep has got the balls to say that he was wrong to humiliate a great player like Yaya.”

Toure, who is in the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium, has featured just once for City since Guardiola’s arrival.

– Cruyff respect –

He played the full 90 minutes of their Champions League play-off second-leg victory over Steaua Bucharest in August.

Guardiola added: “I cannot accept as a coach that every agent, when his player doesn’t play, goes to the media and speaks.

“I know how much Dimitri Seluk loves Yaya Toure. If he loves him, show me by apologising to Manchester City for what he said in the papers.”

Guardiola said that, as a player at Barcelona in the early 1990s, he would never have dared to allow his agent to speak out against Dutch legend Johan Cruyff, then the club’s manager.

“I cannot imagine in my day when a player’s agent would go to the media and speak against Johan Cruyff,” he said.

“Maybe it’s the new era, but I’m from the old generation, and an old-generation agent has to make his players his job and the coach his job.

“Today agents believe they are more than they are. If you have a problem, we can talk. Until he speaks, Yaya isn’t going to play.”

Guardiola said the decision to omit Toure from his Champions League squad had not been an easy one.

“It was so difficult for me to leave him out of the Champions League squad. So difficult,” he said.

“I know him and I know he’s a good guy. It was difficult as well for Aleix Garcia.”

Toure has been at City since 2010 and has won two Premier League titles, two League Cups and one FA Cup during that time.

While he will play no part at Swansea, captain Vincent Kompany could return, having not played since April after undergoing groin and thigh surgery.

Syria conflict: Aid convoy hit by 'air strike' near Aleppo

Syria conflict
The 31 trucks were pictured earlier preparing to set off to deliver aid

A convoy of aid trucks has been hit by an air strike near the Syrian city of Aleppo, reports say, hours after the military declared the current cessation of violence was over.

One unconfirmed report said 12 people were killed in the attack near the town of Urm al-Kubra.

A UN spokesman said at least 18 of 31 trucks had been hit but could not confirm it was by an air strike.

UN Special Envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, said it was an "outrage".

"The convoy was the outcome of a long process of permission and preparations to assist isolated civilians," he said in a statement emailed to Reuters.

The Syrian Red Crescent said the convoy had been making a routine delivery from Aleppo to rural rebel-held areas. Images posted online showed lorries and trailers engulfed by flames.

Activist group the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said 12 people - aid workers and truck drivers - had died in a strike by Syrian or Russian warplanes. The Syrian government has not commented.

A witness told Reuters by phone that about five missile strikes had hit the lorries, which were parked at a centre belonging to the Syrian Red Crescent in Urm al-Kubra.

Mr de Mistura's humanitarian adviser, Jan Egeland, said the convoy had been "bombarded" while offloading at warehouses. About 78,000 people are in need of aid around Urm al-Kubra.

Ingy Sedky, of the International Committee of the Red Cross, described the situation at the scene as "very chaotic".

"We are deeply shocked that humanitarian workers and missions have yet again suffered from the brutality of this conflict," she told AFP.

TOPIC: The All-Sufficient Presence of God

SCRIPTURE: And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. – John 2:3

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Anywhere Jesus is present, nothing is permitted to finish

There are many things in life that people run after to possess. Many people run after the possession of money and other material resources while others run after the acquisition of academic certificates and degrees. There is still another group of people whose major passion is sports and fashion.

Amidst all these cravings in the hearts of men, the possession of the Presence and Word of God is the greatest possession in life. You may not be gifted or talented like others, but if you have the Presence and Word of God, you can never be empty-handed in life.
Precious Jesus By Sinach featuring T Sharp

The truth is, anywhere Jesus is present, nothing is permitted to finish. That was why the wine that finished at the wedding in Cana of Galilee was miraculously restored.
There is no challenge in life to fear if you do not lack the Presence of God. On the other hand, you have everything to fear if God is absent in your life.

One of the things Jesus’ Presence handled in the marriage at Cana of Galilee was the fear of insufficiency. If God’s Presence is with you, you do not need to fear insufficiency.

Remember this: Anywhere Jesus is present, nothing is permitted to finish.

1. Refuse to fear insufficient supplies.
2. Fix your eyes on God for your daily supplies by filling your heart with the Word of God and His Presence.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to dwell with Your Word and to live in Your Presence at all times, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: Time To Get Serious

Key Verse: O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee.... I [will] remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches. - Psalm 63:1,6

If you’re going to live in divine health, there are going to be times when you’ll have to be downright extreme about the Word of God. Times when you may be facing a sickness so severe that you need more than just a few moments in the Word and a quick prayer to receive your healing.

I want to tell you, in very practical terms, what I would do in a situation like that.

The moment I woke up in the morning, before I did anything else, I’d take Communion. I’d say, “Lord, I dedicate my body all day today to the service of my Lord Jesus Christ. I take Jesus’ pure blood shed for me.”

Then I’d put the devil in his place. I’d say, “I rebuke you, Satan. You’re not going to put any sickness and disease on me today. Regardless of the symptoms, regardless of what my body thinks about it, by the power of Jesus through His Spirit, I have overcome this sickness because He who is within me is greater than he who is in the world.”

Then, all day long, I’d thank God for my healing. I’d choose some teaching tapes that would fill my mind and my spirit with the anointed Word of God, and I’d listen to them throughout the day. In the afternoon, I’d praise God and receive Communion again to remind myself that the blood of Jesus is in my veins, that I’m part of God’s family.

You don’t have to wait until the second Sunday of each month or whatever to receive Communion. Jesus just said, “This do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me” (1 Corinthians 11:25). And if you’re facing a serious attack of the devil, you need to remember Jesus all day and all night. You need to consider Jesus until thoughts of Him push the thoughts of that sickness right out of your mind.

That night before bed I’d receive Communion again, then I’d praise myself to sleep. If I woke up in the night, I’d reach over and get my Bible and read all the healing scriptures and make the devil sorry he woke me.

When the devil launches a serious attack against your body, don’t mess around. Get serious about the Word. Put yourself under its constant care and it will take good care of you.

TOPIC:The Oldest Workman of God

Memorise: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

Read: Proverbs 8:22-35(KJV)

22 The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.

25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:

26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.

27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:

28 When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:

29 When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

30 Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;

31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

32 Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.

33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.

34 Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord.

Bible in one year: Lamentations 3-5, Psalms 64
Precious Jesus By Sinach featuring T Sharp

The very first indication of God’s work in creation is recorded in the book of Genesis chapter one. The oldest workman of God would therefore be referring to a character involved in the activities at the beginning of all things. Proverbs 8:22-23 hints as fellows:
“The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, Before his works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, Or ever the earth was.”

And John 1:1-3 says,

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”

The oldest worker of God in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ (Hebrews 7:3), is a personality having neither beginning of days nor end of life. He is without father, without mother, no descendants; He lives in eternity and abides forever. The Bible says that the Almighty God possessed Jesus in the very beginning, before His works of old. This is a mystery. He was with God in the beginning of creation and all things were made by Him, whether visible or invisible, physical or spiritual. Psalms 19:1-2 says:

“The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, And night unto night sheweth knowledge.”

His excellent knowledge and perfect wisdom is visibly evident everywhere in creation. The Heavens declared His glory, and His perfect creativity is revealed in nature; the beautiful landscape, waterfalls, mountains, valleys, and all the rivers in their places; the beautiful flowers and birds that sing, all the small and great animals of the earth, and the abundant life under the seas; the moon, the stars and the heavenly hosts, the appointed seasons, all these are wonders of His creation. Also by Him, God established the clouds above, and strengthened the fountains of the deep. He decreed to the sea, that the waters should not pass the set boundary when he appointed the foundations of the earth. Our Lord Jesus is great in power and excellent in glory, may His name be praised forever. Let somebody shout Hallelujah.

Prayer Point: Father, thank you for a beautiful world, and a magnificent universe.

NYC BOMBING : Trump questions NY suspect's medical care

Donald Trump has lamented that New York bombing suspect Ahmad Khan Rahami would receive medical treatment and legal representation after his arrest.

The Afghan-born, 28-year-old was charged with five counts of attempted murder after a police shootout.

The Republican nominee said it was a "sad situation" and underscores the country's weak national security.

Meanwhile, Democratic rival Hillary Clinton said Mr Trump's rhetoric only helped terrorist groups.

"The kinds of rhetoric and language that Mr Trump has used is giving aid and comfort to our adversaries," Mrs Clinton told reporters at a news conference outside New York City.

She added that she was the only candidate equipped with the experience of being "part of the hard decisions to take terrorists off the battlefield".

Niger Delta Militants Blow Oil Delivery Line, Mock Nigerian Military

Niger Delta crisis
DELTA STATE, NIGERIA - The Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate blew up the Afiesere-Ekiugbo delivery line in Ughelli, said to be operated by the NPDC/Shoreline on Sunday, while threatening to also target pipelines operated by First Hydrocarbon, NPDC, Seplat, Total E&P, Shell, Agip, Saipem, Mobil and others.

According to a statement signed by the group spokesman, Aldo Agbalaja, and obtained by SaharaReporters, the group sabotaged the pipeline on Sunday at about 11:30 p.m.

In a mocking tone, the group told the Chief of Army Staff, General Tukur Yusuf Buratai, to continue to 'allow his crocodile to smile,' warning that his 'time for reckoning' is at hand.

The group’s statement reads in part as follows:

"The Operation Crocodile Tears is not slowing down, but determined to achieve its target. Until the federal government takes the proper steps, this song will continue to play. This is to once again emphasize our earlier revelation that the so-called Operation Crocodile Smile is nothing but a scam, some jumbled job, sewn together to retire some recently embezzled military budget.

"Were it a serious endeavor, as the entire military system has sought to bamboozle Nigerians and the entire world into believing, the half-baked operation would have at least been reaping marginal results, not those wrong arrests, lacking in intelligence, that it had realized. This is to you, Gen. Buratai, let your crocodile continue to smile, your time for reckoning is at hand, probably by the time the smiley crocodile finally sinks, you will see its tears and blood.

"Under your nose, the very task of guarding oil assets (which we consider a waste of time, resources and a failure of priorities) will fail because you are both insincere and incompetent. The Niger Delta Greenland Justice Mandate is just starting; you are yet to see what we are about. By the time the alpha operations are initiated, you will need more than these fighter jets to keep your troops safe in any part of the Niger Delta.

"To the oil and gas companies: We have observed that you have placed your trust in the guns and fighter jets of the Nigerian armed forces. Our words for you are few: keep at it and wait for your rewards, which have almost come upon you. It is a reflection of your minds towards our people. You obviously don't believe that the people of these parts are undeserving of good lives. You hide behind the guns of the oppressors to pillage our lands and our people, leaving us despoiled and our lands raped.

"You do all manners of things you will dare not imagine in other parts of the world where you operate. Here you have failed all basic corporate social responsibilities, leaving the people to languish in lack and ruins. Continue with your insolence against our people, but we vow to you today that we shall uproot every asset and facility you think you have secured with soldiers and their guns," the group stated.

Bible Text: 2 Kings 5:1-6

Key Verse: "And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman's wife. And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy" (2 Kings 5:2,3).

A song writer, moved by the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, scripted, "Make me a channel of blessing today, make me a channel of blessing I pray; My life possessing, my service blessing, make me a channel of blessing today".

Naaman, captain of the Syrian army, was a great man who had accomplished many things; but he was a leper. He may have sought healing from various quarters to no avail. Eventually, a young girl who was captured from Israel and made a maid of his wife later brought the useful information that got him healed. The faith of the little maid led to the conversion of a renowned warriors of Syria who later testified that there is only one God. Her captivity into Syria was a blessing in disguise.

This is a benefit of good upbringing. Though in a strange land, the damsel knew the potency of the God of Israel. As a young girl taken forcefully out of her country, she could have lived in fear and perpetual agony. But she knew that the God of Israel is Omniscient and Omnipresent, and was not timid to speak out the truth. She bore no grudges against Naaman whose troops captured her; rather, her intervention to his sickness caused a great change in Syria as confessions were alluded to the matchless power of the true God.

Likewise, we must emulate the boldness of the maid and declare to people that the only escape route out of their problems is Jesus Christ. We must not be intimidated by oppositions around. At all times, our prayers must be to be a channel of blessing to others. Through our prompt intervention, deliverance could be wrought in the lives of hopeless and helpless folks. We must awake and shake off the dust of lethargy and lend a helping hand to the dying.

Thought for the day: Gospel duty demands a lifeline for the perishing.

TOPIC: Do You Surrender?

Bible Text: It is God himself who has made us what we are and given us new lives from Christ Jesus; and long ages ago he planned that we should spend these lives in helping others. – Ephesians 2:10 (TLB)

Happiness and all of the unlimited benefits which flow from the storehouse of heaven are contingent upon our relationship to God. Absolute dependency and absolute yieldedness are the conditions of being His child. Only His children are entitled to receive those things that lend themselves to happiness; and in order to be His child, there must be surrender of the will to Him.
Best Praise and Worship by Sinach

We must admit we are poor before we can be made rich. We must admit we are destitute before we can become children of adoption. When we realize that all our own goodness is as filthy rags in God’s sight, and become aware of the destructive power of our stubborn wills; when we realize our absolute dependence upon the grace of God through faith and nothing more, then we have started on the road to happiness.

Man does not come to know God through works—he comes to know God by faith through grace. You cannot work your way toward happiness and heaven, you cannot moralize your way, you cannot reform your way, you cannot buy your way. It comes as a gift of God through Christ.

Prayer for the day: Ever impress upon us, Lord Jesus, that it is through grace that we came to know You; that it is because of You that we stand righteous before You.
