President Buhari to begin Investigation over Jonathan and Wife's Link With Niger Delta Avengers

Former president and wife

- Emerging story surrounding Former President link with Militants

August 7, Jonathan denied having any links with NDA, restating his commitment to the nation’s unity. Despite his denial, ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has been allegedly fingered in the formation and activities of the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA). These are the basic points of intelligence report, already made available to the Presidency but which is still being studied in other to begin investigations on the former president and his wife.

A break away group from the notorious militant group known as the Reformed Niger Delta Avengers had last week released a statement indicting the former President and other prominent Nigerians like Raymond Dokpesi, Peter Odili, Nyesom Wike, Olisa Metuh and others as sponsors of the militant group. They have all since denied the allegation.

According to Premium Times, a source within the Presidency said preliminary investigations indicated that some of the oil installations that were attacked in the Niger Delta had actually been mined while President Jonathan was in power, just before the 2015 election, by some of the militants and operatives known to be very close to him.

Speaking, the anonymous government official said

“The mining was meant to be a “Plan B should they be removed from Aso Rock. The plan then was to cause confusion if the 2015 presidential election did not go as expected, in favour of the then incumbent. However, when the former president surprisingly conceded the election to President Muhammadu Buhari, according to the source, there was both disappointment and confusion in the camp of those who had designed the plan, causing a suspension of the whole agenda. But by February this year, it was learnt, the plan was reopened as several of the backers were getting investigated on different corruption cases.

Mr. Jonathan himself was concerned that himself and his wife could be prosecuted, including on money-laundering charges where investigators said evidence against the wife has already been amassed. It was at that point that the bombing activities under the banner of the Niger Delta Avengers started. Even the former President himself had been reported while on a foreign trip as saying he knew he was under probe. This was after the plan to start the bombing had become fully operational according to intelligence reports”

"After the Plan B was restored, the ‘militant operatives’ who mined the oil and gas installations only had to arrange for how they would be detonated at a distance at the wish and timing of the NDA, their backers and sponsors said to include the former president, his wife, Government Tompolo, Mr. Kinglsey Kuku and Olisa Metuh among others.

While Answering some questions the source added that;
The mining was done by some of the militants that the previous government had trained under the amnesty programme, and those who acquired the needed expertise, besides their knowledge of the Niger Delta creeks and terrain.

Experts working with the federal government are now said to be working to determine how to discover if there are still many more oil and gas installations that have been mined and explore the best means of demining them.”

The source added that the attacks on the pipelines in the Niger Delta started so that the Buhari-led administration will seek a political solution to the anti-corruption war and private investigations of the Former President, his wife and other political associates

“The game plan of Mr. Jonathan and his associates backing the NDA was to cause enough economic damage in order to force the Buhari administration to pursue a political solution to the corruption cases on which investigations were already advancing against them. This is to avoid prosecution and the attendant unprecedented shame of having a former president go to jail”.

Breaking: Former President denies link with Niger Delta Avengers again

Niger Delta Avengers sponsor
Former President Goodluck Jonathan has again denied allegations that he is sponsoring the Niger Delta Avengers.

Dr. Goodluck Jonathan said this in a statement by his spokesman, Mr. Ikechukwu Eze, on Thursday.

Some national newspapers had quoted a presidency source stating that a new report had linked Jonathan to the militant group and that the Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government had begun probing the former president.

In his response however, Jonathan said that reports in the media against him are being sponsored by those who feel intimidated by his rising profile in Nigeria and abroad.

The ex-President said, “It is sad that the two publications wore the cloak of deceit from the same misguided characters that are hell-bent on pulling down the former President, despite his clear record of diligent service to his country and long standing commitment to the good of society.

“There is no doubt that there exists such people who may have scores to settle with the former President but are now feeling frustrated by the fact that his national and international profile has continued to rise, despite their recourse to endless muck-raking character assassination. Such people will stop at nothing to continue to throw obstacles, albeit futilely, on his path.”

Breaking News: Another high Court in Abuja sacks Ali Modu Sheriff as PDP chairman

PDP Crisis
A Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Kubwa, Abuja, on Wednesday upheld the previous judgment of another court, also in Abuja, which ended the tenure of Ali Modu Sheriff as acting national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party.

A member of the PDP, Danladi Ayuba, had approached the court to compel Mr. Sheriff to obey the first ruling.

He also complained that the conduct of the former Borno State governor was affecting the rights of party members, including himself.

Justice Valentine Ashi of the Maitama branch of the court had on June 29 sacked Mr. Sheriff after submitting that his emergence as national chairman was unlawful since it was based on amended provisions of the PDP ‎Constitution, which was illegally introduced in December 2014.

The judge faulted the amended PDP Constitution in 2014, which zoned the national chairmanship of the party to the North East, leading to the emergence of Mr. Sheriff as party chairman following the resignation of former Bauchi State governor, Adamu Muazu.

‎The court then made an order restraining all persons who became national officers of the party by virtue of the amended Article 47, Rule 6 of the party’s constitution, from further parading themselves in the said capacities.

Uchenna Oparaugo, counsel to Mr. Ayuba told the court that his client was not seeking an extension of the June 29 ruling but that it was important that a court of law stopped the ongoing tussle to allow members like his client the right of franchise in the party.

“The plaintiff is at stake because as a member of the PDP he has the right to vie for any position or cadre of the party,” he stated.

Scripture: Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. – Psalm 37:4

Thought For The Day: Where there is no direction, stagnation and frustration are inevitable.

It is an established fact that where there is no direction, stagnation and frustration are inevitable.
While we were growing up spiritually, there was a fire-brand brother who wanted to go into ministry. He felt that the best place for him to start the ministry was Lagos state, Nigeria. So, he went to Lagos and started a ministry. After a while, he closed down the ministry in Lagos and later relocated to Port Harcourt to start afresh. In Port Harcourt, it still did not work, so he moved to Abuja within a short period of time. You know, all these happened as a result of lack of direction from God.

Beloved, life is too precious to gamble with. Many people have gambled into marriage and gambled out because they had no time to seek the Will of God for their lives.

Beloved, one of the easiest ways to know the Will of God is to be passionate for God; convince God that you are not ready to make a move until you have heard from Him. When you are at this point, God will put His desires in your heart.

Remember This: where there is no direction, stagnation and frustration are inevitable.

1. Insist on the Will of God for your life; never take a step without God’s direction.
2. Never allow the pressures of life to influence your decision.

Prayer: O Lord, I confess that I am nothing without You. Enforce Your Will in my life, LORD, in Jesus’ Name.

The True Story of A Blogger Arrested By The EFCC For Alleged Cyber Stalking

The True Story of A Blogger Abubakar Abusidiq Usman Arrested By The EFCC For Alleged Cyber Stalking

Shortly after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) released me from detention last week Tuesday, I said I was going to tell the story of my arrest especially against the backdrop of the claim by the anti-graft agency that I was arrested on ‘’offences bordering on cyber stalking.’’ Today, I am keeping to that pledge and stating details of all that transpired from my arrest, detention, eventual release and what lies ahead.

How It All Began

At about 7.30am on Monday, 8th August, 2016 I heard a knock on the door of my residence in Kubwa, Abuja. I was actually still in bed at the time, so my wife had to attend to the door. Moments later, she came to the bedroom to tell me that there are two men at the front door asking to see me. She also stated that she was unsettled by their disposition. As my wife and two children were in the house, I had no other option than to go to the door and see what the men wanted.

Initially, I moved to the Living Room, and attempted to speak to them through the window closest to the door. “Who are you?” and “What can I do for you?” I asked. The men responded saying that they wanted to see the documents for the Toyota Corrolla car that was parked outside my house. They claimed that there were issues with the car. At this point, I noticed that one of the men had crept to the back of the house – seemingly to ensure that I did not escape. This immediately led me to believe that this unwelcome visitation had nothing to do with the car.

Thinking about my next steps, I went back into the room, asked my wife to get the car documents, then I called my next-door neighbour to inform him of the development and the presence of the at-the-time yet-to-be identified men that were in front of my house. I asked him to please come and serve as a witness, as I did not believe their story. Unbeknownst to me, he was already observing the events, as he had noticed the men creeping around the house for quite some time. My neighbour then came out of the house, which made me feel safe enough to do the same.

It was at this point that the men revealed their identities as police officers on the trail of a stolen Toyota Corrolla car. They said a man had claimed ownership of the car, and they wanted to verify his claim. We were in the middle of this discussion when a Toyota Hilux truck with Police numbering and carrying two heavily armed policemen drove into the compound.

When my wife came out of the house with the original car papers, one of the police officers flipped through the pages, stepped aside to place a phone call to a person that he claimed was his ‘Oga’, then came back into the compound to tell me that the car owner was on his way with his own original documents. We all agreed to wait to verify which of the ‘original’ documents were in fact ‘original’.

A few minutes later, a white Bus with two armed policemen and two men in casual dressing drove into the premises and told the other officers that they could now start their work. While we were still at this, one of my neighbours informed me that there was another armed officer stationed outside the compound. It was also at this point that I got to know that some of the men present were in fact EFCC operatives who had passed the night in a nearby estate – simply to ensure that they kept a close tab on my activities. Another of the men had earlier revealed to me that they had been on my trail describing the car I drove, the clothes that I wore and the places I visited three days preceding my arrest. They actually stalked me for several days prior to my arrest.

At this point, I requested that the men formally identify themselves, and one of them told me that he was an EFCC operative with a search warrant to look around my house. He also added that I was under arrest. A basic perusal of the warrant showed that I was being arrested for ‘Offensive Publications’ against the EFCC and its staff.

Before I allowed the men to execute the search warrant, I demand that the three operatives that were elected to conduct the search were first searched – in order to ensure that they did not plan any incriminating evidence in my home.

During the search, the men turned my entire house upside down and searched every nook and cranny. All this happened in the presence of the neighbour, whom I had requested to be present. While this search was going on, the armed policemen who accompanied the EFCC operatives positioned themselves at every corner outside my house and within the premises, leaving my neighbours wondering what could have been my offence.

At the end of the search, the operatives confiscated my two phones, my laptop, my mobile internet device (mifi), the complimentary cards in my possession, and other items that were clearly unrelated to the spurious offence that they were charging me with. The operatives then took a record of all the items that they had confiscated, hauled me into the Toyota bus, and took me to the EFCC Headquarters in Wuse 2, Abuja.

My Alleged Offence

When the men first came to knock on my door, they alleged that the Toyota Corrola car which belongs to my wife was a stolen car. This changed to what they called ‘offensive publication’ as indicated in the search warrant they produced, but when they eventually released a press statement on the same day of my arrest, they said I was being held for ‘Cyber Stalking.’

It is important to note that in all these, the EFCC failed to specify who or what I was ‘stalking.’ They didn’t even explain to me the details of the ‘cyber stalking’ allegation and what the specific crimes were and till this day, nobody has said anything to me in clear terms what my offence is. It was only at the moment they showed me the search warrant that I was able to deduce that my arrest was in regards to some publications that I had made on my blog particularly about the head of the anti-graft commission. The search warrant said ‘offensive publications against EFCC and its staff, but this is clearly not true. They were Ibrahim Lamorde and Ibrahim Magu who incidentally headed or heads the EFCC.

Since 2015, long before the current chairman, Ibrahim Magu was appointed to head the commission in acting capacity, published several articles bordering on alleged corruption and complaints by EFCC staff amongst many others. This information were very much in the public space and was not peculiar to alone. The searchlight beamed on Lamorde was also beamed on Magu and according to the persons who authored the publications, they saw the need to inform the public of what was happening under the Magu-led leadership of the commission. Contrary to the erroneous impression they may have tried to create, the publications were never about EFCC as an institution neither were they against the staff of the commission. They were about Lamorde and Magu in their individual capacity as heads of the commission.

What is even of more concern is that the EFCC knows that I did not author these publications. They know and have sufficient proofs of who the authors were. I only provided them the platform as a blogger to enable them air their concerns, the same way I have done to so many others including those who have written positively about Lamorde, Magu and the EFCC. Thankfully, one of the authors has come out boldly to say that she authored the articles.

I have asked times without number why Magu feels he should be a judge in his own case by using the EFCC to want to intimidate and harass people because he heads the commission. What has the EFCC got to do with publications that is about him as an individual? At best, the EFCC’s involvement should simply have been to investigate the issues raised by the authors in the articles that I published. If the organization is supposed to be acting on information provided by whistle blowers, is this not a perfect opportunity for the EFCC to investigate Magu, not minding that he is the head the commission? If these publications were to be about a junior staff of EFCC for example, will the commission also be the one to effect arrest on behalf the junior officer? For me, this is just a clear case of using privileged position for the purpose of harassment and intimidation.

My Stay In EFCC Detention

I spent about 36 hours in the custody of the EFCC. The better part of this time was spent during interrogation. They were practically asking me questions they already have answers to. They asked to know if the publications mostly dating back to 2015 were published on They also showed me print outs of the emails which contained the information the authors of the publications sent to me requesting for publishing space. If they already know all this, then what was my arrest for? Perhaps, they wanted something more, reason why they are still keeping all the items they confiscated from my house. As I write this, the EFCC is still holding onto my phones, laptops, internet device and other unrelated documents. They told me clearly that they are going to subject them to forensic analysis which I believe is in breach of my privacy.

What Next

From the above narration, it is clear to me that Magu’s EFCC is in clear violation of the law. Aside granting me bail, they refused to say anything else and have continued to keep possession of my properties many of which contains my private information. So I proceeded to the court for the enforcement of my Fundamental Rights which the EFCC is in clear breach of. My lawyers have informed me that the commission has been duly served and we are now awaiting the court to commence the case.

Topic: That we may be Rich

Memorise: For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. – 2 Corinthians 8:9

Read: John 10:9-11 (KJV)

9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

Bible in One Year: Isaiah 34:1-37:13, Psalms 37:1-20

The death of Jesus was for a purpose and that purpose is to ensure that you fulfil your destiny. Jesus sacrificed Himself for your redemption. He took your place and gave you His. It is upon this arrangement that you have access to all that He provided. The death of Jesus was not in vain, it is a substitution for all your human weaknesses and deficiencies. God is not only interested in making you saved; He is interested in you having all that is available in the salvation package.

I decree that whatever will not make you enjoy the full benefits of salvation shall be destroyed in Jesus’ name. Just for your sake, Jesus was born into very poor circumstances, He lived a poor life and died in poverty; and all these was that such things do not happen in your life. He voluntarily did all that, so that you might be rich. The riches even cover your divine health; by His stripes you are healed.

I command every sickness and disease operating in your body to be uprooted in Jesus’ name. His death is so that you might be rich in deliverance. There are many people attending deliverance services but are yet to be free. If you appropriate the death of Jesus into your situation, there should be freedom for you.

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” - John 8:32

As believers of the new covenant, you are to be rich in the love and favour of the Almighty God. You are to be rich in the blessing and promises of the new covenant. You are to be rich in your expectation of eternal life. When you give your life to Jesus Christ, there is happiness in your life not only by the things you have but by the experience you have in Him.

The Lord Jesus becomes the shepherd of your soul and He guarantees your protection so that you enjoy the riches of His divine security. Nothing scares you any longer because He that now watches over your soul does not sleep nor slumber. You become rich in abundance and the yoke of poverty becomes destroyed. You will be practically guided on how to enjoy the benefits of His riches through His goodness and mercy.

This is why you must not allow the devil see your life as being vacant. The devil is out to kill, to steal and to destroy but when you give Jesus a chance in your life, you will experience a turnaround from poverty to wealth. The devil has nothing good to offer you. In the end, his offers lead to destruction and disgrace, but the riches of God are permanent. The Joy of God is real; the peace of God is timeless.

The abundance of God is not a function of economic indices. The longevity of life has nothing to do with keeping to medical prescriptions. The security of God has nothing to do with human elements. All these benefits are part of the riches He gave to you on the cross of Calvary but they become activated when you accept Him as your personal Lord and Saviour.

Key Point: If you don’t know your rights, you cannot enjoy them.

Buhari has no respect for the constitution of Nigeria - IPOB

Biafra News
Wednesday, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) said it would not enter into any dialogue with the Federal Government under President Muhammadu Buhari in the absence of its leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

The group stated that nothing short of unconditional release of its leader would be acceptable.

IPOB described the continued detention of Kanu as an impunity and disrespect for the constitution of the country.

It said, “For Buhari to continue to keep Kanu in custody after a court of competent jurisdiction had granted him (Kanu) bail is enough corruption.”

The group said it was a waste of time for the Federal Government to think that they would enter into dialogue with IPOB without first releasing Kanu.

It maintained that no pressure would make Kanu betray his supporters and the Biafra cause.

“They don’t know this man called Nnamdi Kanu. They can’t intimidate Kanu by dumping him in prison. He can’t beg anybody for his freedom.”

A release by its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, made available to newsmen in Awka, Anambra State, read in part, “Instead of our leader to renounce Biafra, he would renounce Nigeria publicly, mark our words.

“We are not after securing bail for our leader; we are after his freedom and freedom for the people of Biafra.

“Even a child born today knows that any attempt to tamper with Nnamdi Kanu’s life will bring about catastrophic consequences.”

“Should anything happen to Kanu, Somalia will be a paradise, compared to what will happen in Nigeria.

“We are not asking for anything short of his immediate and unconditional release, as ordered by an Abuja Federal High Court.”

Topic: Get Out From Under

Key Verse: Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. - 1 John 4:4

Under the circumstances….  Have you ever caught yourself using that phrase?

“I suppose I’m doing pretty well under the circumstances.”

If you’ve ever said something like that, I want you to kick those words out of your vocabulary right now. Because you, as a victorious child of God, don’t have any business living your life “under” your circumstances. You don’t have any business letting problems and situations rule over you.

Two thousand years ago, Jesus—the One who is in you—ransacked Satan’s kingdom. Through His death at Calvary, He legally entered the regions of the damned and stripped Satan of everything. He took away all his armor. He took the keys to death and hell. He bound that strong man, looted his kingdom, and Colossians says He spoiled principalities and powers and made a show of them openly, triumphing over them.

Then Jesus turned around and gave that victory to you. You are of God. Remember that! You have overcome through Jesus because He lives in you. You never have to live “under” the circumstances again!

Topic: A Greater Than Solomon

Text: 2 Chronicles 9:1-12

Key Verse: "For he breaketh me with a tempest, and multiplieth my wounds without cause" (Job 9:17).

An excellent and enduring way to please God in our service to Him is when the purity of Christian conduct draws unbelievers to us as they marvel at why we are different from the crowd. When they come close to us, they do not see us but the One who gave us the grace enabling us to live changed lives.

It was not different with the Queen of Sheba who came to confirm what she had heard about Solomon's greatness in the text under consideration. It is instructive to note that after establishing the veracity of the reports she had heard about Solomon, she could not but give the credit to God almighty. When the believer is lauded by man, he or she must not hesitate to set the record straight. God is behind all our successes. It is not our might, but God's grace. That was what Peter meant when he addressed the people of Jerusalem who stood amazed at the great miracle of the healing of the lame man (Acts 3:12, 13).

Jesus who is greater than Solomon and Peter is in our midst today to command our attention with more astonishing signs, wonders and miracles. He has come with the gift of salvation which all the wisdom and riches of Solomon and the world cannot purchase. He offers matchless peace and prosperity to mankind. He is waiting for you to fully plug into Him.

Thought for the day: In God only can be found a true life more abundant.

Why I called my dog 'Buhari", 30-year-old man reveals

Nigerian News
Ogun State Police command, yesterday, released unconditionally, the 30-year-old trader, Joe Fortemose Chinakwe, who was arrested last Saturday for naming his pet dog ‘Buhari’.

The arrested trader, who was visibly angry after his three-day incarceration in police cell, was let off the hook around 5pm on Tuesday after the intervention of both the Serkin Hausa and President-General of non-indigenes in the state.

It was learned that the prompt intervention of the elders made the complainant to withdraw the case he reported against the trader at Sango-Ota division which was later transferred to Police headquarters at Eleweran.

However, police sources said both the complainant and suspect were made to sign an undertaking not to cause any breach of peace again. Speaking to journalists after this release, the trader, a father of two from the Niger Delta, who trades on second hand clothing lamented that he was made to suffer for no just cause.

Narrating his ordeal, Chinakwe said “It is annoying because the complainant is from Niger Republic and I am sure he is one of those illegal aliens in this country. He connived with one Police Sergeant from the Northern part of Nigeria called Musa, who works at Sango Police division to humiliate me. Worse still, the Divisional Police Officer there, did not help matters as he refused to entertain any plea from me after I was arrested that Saturday night. He simply ordered his men to throw me into the cell.” he said.

“I did not commit any offence. I named my beloved pet dog Buhari, who is my hero. My admiration for Buhari started far back when he was a military Head of State. It continued till date that he is a civilian President. After reading his dogged fight against corruption, which is like a canker worm eating into the very existence of this country, I solely decided to rename my beloved dog which I called Buhari, after him. I did not know that I was committing an offence for admiring Buhari.

“I was intimidated and thrown inside the cell with hardened criminals for about three days. While I was there, the complainant from Niger Republic and Sergeant Musa from the North kept on taunting me saying people from my part of the country are trouble makers and that after detaining me, they will throw me into prison where I will die unsung.

”Even when my wife came with our baby on her back, they stopped her from giving me food. One of my friends that came to see me was also maltreated. “While taking me to Eleweran the next day, they handcuffed and chained me together with that my friend. Fortunately, when we got to police headquarters, both the Commissioner of Police and other officers were angry with their colleagues at Sango-Ota. ”

They were wondering loudly why I was brought to the headquarters over such a minor case. It’s very unfortunate that I have to be so humiliated in my own country because of the antics of a foreigner in connivance with my brother from the North.”
