Quest for Biafra is God's decision, Nnamdi kanu revealed

Biafra quest is God's decision
Radio Biafra Director and IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu has spoke from his prison custody on Monday,July 25, claiming that it was not his choice to stir the agitation for Biafra, but a call made by God.

The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) insisted that his decision to restore the nation of Biafra was not his personal choice but a mandate from the Most High God (Chiukwu-okike-abiama) which was assigned to him from time immemorial.

Kanu maintained that the restoration of the nation of Biafra is a priority and a project that must be achieved under the watchful eyes of the IPOB led by himself, an arduous task that must be accomplished in order to lead his people out of the contraption called Nigeria, without fear of death.

The Media and Publicity Secretary of IPOB, Comrade Emma Powerful who disclosed this yesterday in a press statement, quoted Kanu as telling some sympathizers who visited him in prison custody that he had even dedicated his life to restore Biafra, just as our Lord Jesus Christ dedicated His own life for the salvation of mankind.

According to Kanu: “the reason my mother gave birth to me was to restore and save Biafrans. I also promise that the Biafran race will be a cleaned up nation and all the people of Biafra will come back home, if they are living outside the country of the new nation. Our people will no longer wander on the road again”.

He queried: “How can I encourage the people of Biafra to work towards the upbringing of Nigeria, when we don’t hear the same language, don’t eat the same food and don’t have the same culture. In fact, if we come to their land to practice our culture and religion, we will be beheaded.

Their women wear hijab, and Biafran women don’t, and on the point that our women don’t wear hijab and we don’t practice the same religion, they will see us as infidels and then, we will be beheaded. We are 100 per cent Christian. These people are Muslims who see killing as a culture.

“In Biafra where we originated from,, it will be hard for our people to kill a human being, because in my language a human being is called MMANDU, which means in English language the beauty of life. Now, you can see it will never work, the only solution is Biafra.”

The Vanguard reports that Mazi Kanu further stated that “there is no regret in his dictionary,” adding that “he is ready to spend a thousand years in a prison”.

“And also we are not trying to secede from Nigeria. We are older than Nigeria. You can only talk about seceding if Biafrans are they ones that colonized Nigeria. But we are older than that contraption. So we can’t secede rather we just want to go back the way we were before the British came. It is Biafra or nothing, Nigerians knows that.”

Meanwhile, Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife has claimed that President Muhammadu Buhari hates Igbos and that he knew about this hatred a long time ago. The president has been criticised for what many described as lopsided appointment that has largely favoured the north. In an interview with Vanguard, the former governor of Anambra revealed what was discussed at the Igbo peace summit in Owerri, Imo state.

He said: “We discussed the problem that the South East is facing in today’s Nigeria. The problem of hatred from Mr president.

“At the beginning, not everybody saw it. I saw it early enough and thinking it was a mistake and not a deliberate action, I started shouting.

We have not been taken here, we have not been taken there, you have appointed 10 persons nobody from Southeast; you have appointed 20 people nobody is from Southeast, you have appointed 25, 30, 40 going further we have nobody, no soul from the Southeast.

“So, I started knowing that it is beyond a mistake. I was thinking it was a mistake and since I believe that the person who is President must have conscience, I was raising his consciousness to the mistake so that he can correct it even the ones I tell you to write, you will find that everything I was saying is true.

Instead of being taken seriously for amendment to be made, I was called enemy of the North and enemy of Buhari.

So, these days, I am not talking too much again, I am talking about Nigeria.”

Ex-Governors in trouble, Federal Govt to reopen corruption cases

Buhari promised Nigerians to fight corruption
The President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government is set to reopen corruption cases against some ex-governors which were earlier investigated by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC).

According to a report by Punch, ICPC received a letter from the office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) to reopen the corruption cases.

In the report,  those whose case will be reopened include the ex-governors, whose cases would be reopened, included six from the North-West; six from the North-East, and eight from the North-Central.  Five of the former governors, who are now serving senators.

A copy of the AGF’s letter seen by the newspaper partly  reads; “It is clear that some of these governors and other politically-exposed persons have not been charged to court despite the fact that the ICPC has concluded their investigations concerning allegations levelled against them for one reason or the other.

“It is the position of the present administration that all ex-governors that the ICPC had long concluded investigations into the various allegations levelled against them should be immediately prosecuted.”

The letter also gave the Chairman of the ICPC a 14-day ultimatum to “remit the duplicate case files concerning the politically-exposed persons investigated by the ICPC over the years” to the office of the AGF.

Health: Constant "Love-Making" is the best for your health

Research have shown that men who have intercourse no less than two times in a week can almost halve their risk of heart disease, another examination says. The study, which was led with more than 1,000 men, depicts s*x as a movement that includes extraordinary physical and passionate components. S*x might be a marker for a solid heart since s*x can be a type of physical movement, which, similar to work out, gives your heart a workout.

Whoever desire frequent s*x  and are able to get it, are likely to be healthier than others. Men who have regular s*x may also be in a supportive relationship, which offers stress reduction and emotional benefits.

Frequent s*x is so beneficial that when you see a doctor he is likely to ask many questions about your s*x so as to find out about your overall health condition. Apparently s*x is not only good for your heart; it also keeps many diseases at bay.

For example, s*x can actually cause you to get fewer colds.

Research has shown that couples who have s*x weekly have a 30 per cent increase in immunoglobulin A, which is an antibody that fights infection. S*x can also help women have a more predictable period schedule, as a result of being exposed to male pheromones.

In addition, having s*x reduces stress – for physiological as well as emotional reasons. Anything that will reduce stress is good for you as too much stress can lead to many diseases including cancer. S*x activates a nerve that has a calming effect. Having s*x also lowers blood pressure, which reduces the risk of heart disease.

S*x can even reduce LDL (“bad”) cholesterol and increase HDL (“good”) cholesterol.

These are the good  results that a healthy s*x life can give you:

Fewer colds because of an increase in immunoglobulin A, an antibody that fights infection.
Women can get more predictable periods because of exposure to male pheromones.

A better physical response to stress.
Lower blood pressure, which lowers your risk of heart disease.
Lowers your bad cholesterol and increase your good cholesterol.
Helps to tone your abs, gluts and pretty much any muscle in your body.
Naturally increases estrogen level which improves the appearance of your hair, skin and nails.
Helps to improve your memory because of increased blood flow to your brain.
Increased feelings of motivation because of the release of endorphins.
As you can see, a good s*x life is one way to stay happy, healthy and fit. So if your doctor starts grilling you about your bedroom habits, you will know why. And this is only the tip of the iceberg.

S*x has also been found to boost self-esteem and improve intimacy in your relationship. This is because s*x and orgasms result in increased levels of the hormone oxytocin — the “love” hormone – that helps you to feel bonded to your partner.

As oxytocin increases, so do hormones known as endorphins, which in turn lessens feelings of pain related to everything from headaches and arthritis to symptoms of menopause. It can also help you to get a better night’s sleep.

Further, for women, having s*x can help strengthen the muscles of your pelvic floor (the same ones used to stop urination). As you age, having strong pelvic floor muscles reduces your risk of accidents.

Of course, these benefits are assuming that you’re having s*x with a mutually monogamous partner – otherwise you risk catching a s*xually transmitted disease.

S*xual pleasure begins in your brain

Your brain and nervous system control your s*x glands and genitals. This is why they also control your s*xual desire, as well as orgasms. It explains why, for example, visual images trigger s*xual desire in both sexes.

Your brain stem also emits nerve impulses that control erectile function. These nerve impulses navigate through the erection center of your spinal column to the erectile tissue of your penis where they trigger a chain reaction in the membranes of your vascular muscle cells. This sophisticated chain reaction depends on a messenger molecule called cyclic guanosine monophosphate, or cGMP.

However, this works in reverse as well. An erection softens as soon as another enzyme called phosphodiesterase starts to degrade the cGMP molecules.

Drugs like Viagra, Levitra and Cialis work by inhibiting phosphodiesterase, which may help maintain your erection. But, these pills will not lead to an erection. Your initial erection still has to be triggered psychologically. Without that initial impetus, potency pills will have no effect whatsoever. This is also why these pills are ineffective for many men who take them hoping for a magic jack-in-the box effect.

As you might suspect, because your s*xuality is so intimately tied to your mind, anxiety, defensiveness, fear, and failure of communication are all destructive psychological forces that can take a heavy toll on your libido, whether you’re a man or a woman. They are road blocks to desire. So handle them.

According to Professor Gert Holstege of the University of Groningen in the Nederlands, “Fear and anxiety need to be avoided at all costs if a woman wishes to have an orgasm.”

How to improve s*xual desire naturally-

If you would like to take advantage of some of the health benefits that regular s*xual activity has to offer, yet find that your desire just isn’t what it used to be, there are many natural tips that can help.

Your s*xual fires may also be fanned simply by eating less sugar. High levels of sugar in your bloodstream can actually turn off the gene that controls your s*x hormones.

Four other tips to give your libido a big-time boost include:

Getting physically active. Studies have shown that men who engaged in regular physical activity lowered their risk of experiencing sexual dysfunction. Remember, when using exercise as a drug, it’s important to vary your routine.

WE ARE LEARNING THE HARD WAY THROUGH HARDSHIP - Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari receiving a Special Envoy from the President of Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Javad Zarif, at the State House, on Monday, July 25, 2016.
The Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari said yesterday, in Abuja that Nigeria was now learning the ropes in diversification of its economy.

Speaking when he received a special envoy from the President of Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammad Javad Zarif, at State House, the President commended the Iranian government for working to launch itself among the developed nations of the world.

he President said his government was working assiduously to ameliorate the challenges faced by the Nigerian economy within a short period, saying he would tap from the experiences of countries like Iran which had thrived in adversity.

He said the Iranian economy remained an inspiration for Nigeria in the deployment of technology to harness and export gas, grow food for the populace and promote entrepreneurship in education.

The President noted that Nigeria had all the potentials to grow into a great economy through more inclusive planning, consistency in government policies and commitment to the realization of development targets.

“The progress made by Iran within a short period of 30 years is really commendable. Within the period, you have been able to harness gas flaring, and you are now exporting.

‘’You have recorded strides in security, manufacturing, agriculture and technology.

“You have also achieved a lot in nuclear research.

‘’I must also congratulate you for successfully negotiating with America and the European countries on the development of your nuclear energy.

“In Nigeria, we are learning. We are learning the hard way through hardship, and we are learning very quickly on how to explore other sectors of the economy like gas, solid minerals and agriculture for growth.

“We are grateful for your support and cooperation in opening up the Nigerian economy for diversification,” he said.

In his remark, the Iranian envoy, who is also the Minister of Foreign Affairs, said the Iranian government would support the ongoing restructuring of the Nigerian economy.

“We are very keen to see a better and stronger relationship with Nigeria, which is the largest country in Africa and a major global player,” he said.

Zarif said he came to Nigeria with a delegation of more than 70 members of the Iranian business community, who had already started discussions in investing in sectors as banking, education, scholarship, agriculture, energy, tourism and technology development.

Nigeria faces fuel scarcity as truck owners withdraw services

Scarcity of fuel
Nigeria - Excepting any very late change in arrangements, truck owners would suspend transportation of petroleum products across the country, starting from today.

The truck owners had last week, issued a seven-day ultimatum within which to withdraw their services over alleged unpaid bridging claims and reduction of freight rate paid to its members by the Petroleum Equalisation Fund, PEF.

At a joint press briefing addressed by the leaderships of the National Association of Road Transport Owners, NARTO, and the Petroleum Tanker Drivers, PTD, branch of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, the groups threatened to withdraw their services at the expiration of the seven-day.

National President of NARTO, Alhaji Kassim Ibrahim Bataiya, who was assisted by PTD’s Comrade salimon Olatidi at the media briefing, demanded that the management board of the PEF must immediately commence the full payment of transporters’ claims.

The truck owners warned that they will suspend their services of movement of petroleum products from one destination to the other through out the country, should the management of the Petroleum Equalisation Fund, PEF, continue to default in payments of transporters’ claims.

Alhaji Bataiya asked the management board of PEF to immediately commence the full payment of transporters’ claims as well as the accumulated outstanding claims in respect of the period January 1, 2011 to May 11, 2016 at the rate applicable from 2011 to December 31, 2015.

He further asked the PEF management board to immediately conclude the review of the freight rate from May 12, 2016 to date, in accordance with the bridging fund approved by the government.

Topic: Prayer - The Pathway to Spiritual Sensitivity

SCRIPTURE: I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. – Habakkuk 2:1

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You cannot access direction in life without asking God for it at the place of prayer.

Sometime ago, during a 21-day prayer and fasting programme, a young man in our church gave a testimony of how he went to a bank to withdraw about five hundred thousand Naira (N500,000.00) and then drove to a shopping mall with the money inside his car. He stepped inside a shopping mall to buy some items leaving the money in his car. While he was in the shopping mall, he suddenly felt uneasy so he went outside, and on looking at where he parked his car, he saw hoodlums attempting to break into his car in order to get away with the money. He immediately raised alarm which led to the arrest of those hoodlums. Thus his money was preserved as a result of the spiritual direction (signal) he received in a moment.

When we invest our time at the place of prayer; such directions become very easy to access. This kind of direction is needed for our daily living; to know who is a friend and who is not, who to marry and who not to marry, etc.

Asking provokes direction (Jeremiah 6:16). You cannot access direction in life without asking God for it at the place of prayer.

Remember this: You cannot access direction in life without asking God for it at the place of prayer.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Make demands on Divine direction in every path of your life.
2. Maintain a daily sweet fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: PRAYER AND DIRECTION.

PRAYER: O LORD, I receive the grace to fellowship daily with You in love. Help me to hear what You are saying per time, in Jesus’ Name.

Text: 1 Kings 15:1-8

Key Verse: "And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father" (1 Kings 15:3).

Once when Mark Twain was lecturing in Utah, a Mormon acquaintance argued with him on the subject of polygamy. After a long and rather heated debate, the Mormon finally said, "Can you find for me a single passage of Scripture which forbids polygamy?" "Certainly, " replied Twain. "No man can serve two masters. " The reign of Abijam, the son of Rehoboam was uneventful. Although he was said to have been buried in the city of David, this was no guarantee that he made it to heaven. In fact, the brevity of his reign was a clear indication that God was not happy with him.

The heart of man is so given to the pursuit of the mundane things of the world that it hardly accommodates the things of God. Like Abijam, many measure their wealth by the number of wives they marry, the number of children they have or perhaps, the number of properties they are able to acquire and accumulate. The Scripture warns that a man's life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses. Following a wrong mentor would mean you are prepared to share in their destinies. Abijam's life occupies a mere footnote of history. Yours as a child of God must never be like his.

Your life must never be determined by material and carnal parameters. If Christ is truly the Cornerstone of your life, you need to be the salt of the earth and lightened lamps on the bushel providing illumination to all. In sum, you ought to be a channel of blessing to all.

Thought for the day: Where is your place in history – a footnote or a chapter?

Cleanliness is Practical Godliness - Pastor E.A Adeboye

Topic: Cleanliness is Practical Godliness

Memorise: Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD. – Isaiah 52:11

Read: Numbers 8:5-7 (KJV)

5 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

6 Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.

7 And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.

Bible in One Year: 1 Thessalonians 1-4, Psalms 19:7-14

MESSAGE:
One truth a child of God must embrace is that cleanliness is godliness in practical terms. God pays attention to personal hygiene as much as He pays attention to the spiritual purity of His people. In the book of Leviticus 14:43-45, we read:

“43 And if the plague come again, and break out in the house, after that he hath taken away the stones, and after he hath scraped the house, and after it is plaistered; 44 Then the priest shall come and look, and, behold, if the plague be spread in the house, it is a fretting leprosy in the house: it is unclean. 45 And he shall break down the house, the stones of it, and the timber thereof, and all the morter of the house; and he shall carry them forth out of the city into an unclean place.”

In our Bible reading for today, we read about how God instructed Moses to take the Levites from among the congregation and cleanse them. There are many lessons we must learn from this passage. Why were the Levites singled out for cleansing? It is because they were special to God; they were to be Yahweh’s representatives among God’s people.

“But thou shalt appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of testimony, and over all the vessels thereof, and over all things that belong to it: they shall bear the tabernacle, and all the vessels thereof; and they shall minister unto it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle.” - Numbers 1:50

The Levites, being vessels of honour, were required to be cleansed to function as priests unto God. As such, children of God must be clean in and out because it required of us to be physically and spiritually clean.

“And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.” - Numbers 8:7

It is unfortunate to see that some children of God are not taking seriously the basic hygiene that can enhance their divine health. Some actually believe in divine healing, but do not live in clean environments, nor eat good food. Good food does not cost much. As a matter of fact, it is dangerous delicacies that are costly. So, in order to enjoy divine health, we must live clean lives. May the Almighty God grant us the ability to live clean lives in Jesus’ name.

Action Point:
Take care of your personal hygiene and observe basic health instructions in your home.

Feast on the Word - Kenneth Copeland

Faith to Faith Devotional

Topic: Feast on the Word

Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. - Matthew 4:4

The Word of God is to your spirit as bread is to your body. When your body feeds on physical food, it produces a physical power called strength. When your spirit feeds on the spiritual food of the Word, it produces spiritual power called faith. And just as you can't eat one meal and then feed on the memory of it for several weeks, you can't just remember what the Word says and stay strong in faith. You have to read it. Even if you've read it a hundred times, you need to read it again.

Try this: Close your eyes and see yourself slicing a lemon. Now stick that lemon slice between your teeth and when I say, "Three," bite down on it so hard that the juice squirts into your mouth. One. Two. Three. Bite!

Chances are, you have such a vivid memory of what it's like to bite on a lemon that your mouth is watering right now. But let me ask you this, "Have you received any nourishment from that memory?" No.

Remembering the Word of God isn't enough. You must continually feed on what it says. Get it out and read it. Go to church and hear it preached.

One day, you'll read a familiar verse...a verse you've read thousands of times before...and suddenly God will give you the greatest revelation you've ever had. A completely fresh revelation from that old familiar verse! And it's likely to be exactly what you needed to know about your current situation.

Yes, you can feed on the Word that is on deposit in your spirit. But remember this: You can't get continued results if you don't spend time in prayer and in the Word of God allowing the Spirit to nourish you daily.

Don't try to live on the memory of your last spiritual meal. Replenish the force of faith within you. Feast on the Word of God today.
