Killer of Woman Preacher will be punished by law - President Buhari

Woman Preacher
Buhari Administration vowed that the killers of the Ekiti-State-born preacher with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Evangelist, Eunice Elisha Olawale, in Kubwa area of the Federal Capital Territory will not go unpunished.

The President, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir David Lawal, made the promise during the burial service held in RCCG FCT 2 Provincial Headquarters in Kubwa.

The 42-year-old mother of seven was murdered while preaching in the Gbazango -West area of Kubwa, a satellite town, in the Bwari Area Council on Saturday, July 9 2016.

Meanwhile, tears flowed on Saturday at the Gudu Cemetery in the FCT, where the deceased was buried.

As she was laid to rest, the children of the deceased performed the ‘ash to ash’ ceremony at the cemetery and wept uncontrollably.

Some sympathisers who could not hold back themselves joined them to mourn the deceased who was described as a martyr.

Lawal said, “As a government, we want to inform you that all the perpetrators of this act will not go free and will be brought to book. All Nigerians should be safe and free to practice their religion anywhere. Government’s resolve is to fish out the perpetrators. We pray to God not only to forgive them, but pray that the perpetrators seek for repentance. On behalf of the President and the Federal Republic of Nigeria, may God console you.

Just in: Buhari reveals why Babangida removed him from office 31 years ago

31 years ago secret revealed
The Nigeria President, Muhammadu Buhari has said he was removed from office 31 years ago because he was planning to purge the military hierarchy of corruption.

Mr. Buhari, who has not spared the military even in his ongoing anti-corruption war, said senior military leaders, led by a former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida, and General Aliyu Gusau, removed him in August 1985, to save themselves from his wrath.

In an exclusive interview published in the current edition of The Interview magazine, Buhari challenged Babangida and Gusau, to tell the truth on why they carried out the coup against him.

“I learnt,” he said, “that Aliyu Gusau, who was in charge of intelligence, took import licence from the Ministry of Commerce which was in charge of supplies and gave it to Alhaji Mai Deribe.

"It was worth N100,000, a lot of money at that time. I confronted them and took the case to the Army Council in a memo...I wanted Gusau punished."

In a statement on, the Managing Director/Editor-in-chief of The Interview, Azu Ishiekwene, said, “This is one edition that won’t let sleeping dogs lie.”

Babangida had told The Interview in its December edition that there was nothing in the memo which Buhari said he submitted to the Army Council.

"Don't forget that I was one of Buhari’s closest aides. I was the chief of army staff. So, I had an important position, an important role to play in that administration. I don't think it had to do with a memo," Babangida said.

But in a tone which revealed that the past might neither have been forgotten nor forgiven, Buhari challenged Babangida and Gusau to come clean on why they removed him, asking The Interview to choose whose story to believe.

He also fielded questions about his health, the 2016 budget, the pace of his government, former President Goodluck Jonathan and why Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola was handed three ministerial portfolios.

The edition also features interviews with Liberian presidential hopeful, Mr. Winston Tubman, and retired Justice Dahiru Saleh, the controversial judge whose court nailed June 12.

And in an interview which indicates that the battle for 2019 could be well and truly underway, pharmacist and Rotarian, Dr. Mike Omotosho, aims at the Kwara State government house.

His roadmap would give rivals sleepless nights.

“Samantha has even been praising Emily’s looks and treating her like a genuine friend.

“It’s surprising, as Samantha had previously lashed out at Emily for going public about Anthony.

“Either that or she is gathering ammunition from Emily so she can get every last penny out of Anthony for their daughter.”

What happened to thousand of Turkish soldiers ‘involved in coup plot’ will surprise you

Torturing Turkish soldiers
At least 10,000 Turkish troops have been detained and raped, starved and left without water for days, according to Amnesty International.

The group claim that the detainees, who were imprisoned after the failed military coup, are being held in stables and sports halls.

In a statement the Human Rights campaigners say they have ‘credible evidence’ that the detainees are being beaten and tortured, in official and unofficial detention centres across the country.

Amnesty International’s Europe director, John Dalhuisen: “Reports of abuse including beatings and rape in detention are extremely alarming, especially given the scale of detentions that we have seen in the past week.

“The grim details that we have documented are just a snapshot of the abuses that might be happening in places of detention.”

The group has called for immediate access to prisoners after the coup a week ago which sparked a brutal crackdown and a three-month state of emergency.Detained Turkish soldiers who allegedly took part in a military coup arrive with their hands bound behind their backs at the Istanbul Justice Palace

More than 200 died in the uprising which aimed to topple President Erdogan – and 1,500 were injured.

Dalhuisen said: “It is absolutely imperative that the Turkish authorities halt these abhorrent practices and allow international monitors to visit all these detainees in the places they are being held.”

“Reports of abuse including beatings and rape in detention are extremely alarming, especially given the scale of detentions that we have seen in the past week.

Family members of detained Turkish soldiers wait in front of the Istanbul Justice Palace

Amnesty has also spoken to lawyers, doctors and a person on duty in a detention facility about the conditions in which detainees were being held.

The group heard troubling reports of torture in ‘unofficial locations’, particularly at the Ankara Police Headquarters sports hall, Ankara Başkent sports hall and the riding club stables there.

According to the accounts, police are forcing detainees to remain in stress positions; they are handcuffed with cable ties and forced to kneel for hours.

In many cases the ties are fastened too tight and left wounds on the arms of detainees.Turkish President Erdogan on July 20 chaired a crunch security meeting for the first time since the failed coup.

There are also reports of rape and sexual assault.

Two lawyers in Ankara working on behalf of detainees told Amnesty International that detainees said they witnessed senior military officers in detention being raped with a truncheon or finger by police officers.

A person on duty at the Ankara Police Headquarters sports hall saw a detainee with severe wounds consistent with having been beaten, including a large swelling on his head.

The detainee could not stand up or focus his eyes and he eventually lost consciousness.

The state of the economy, naira, youth and families, education system and other sectors of the economy, were also included in the prayers that followed verses from the Bible.

The report said: “During the prayer section on leadership, the entire congregation rose and shouted on top of their voices in one accord for God to remove every leader at any level of government that is anti-people.

“The Prelate of Methodist Church Nigeria, Dr Samuel Chukwuemeka Kanu Uche, who led the prayer section on Governors, declared that any governor without the fear of God, that is not performing would not complete his tenure.”

“Nigeria economy seems to be in prison. Like in the case of Paul and Sila in the bible, they were being held in the prison, but the doors of prison were opened on its own accord.

After tonight, we expect the glory of God in Nigeria,” he said. Omobude prayed that for wisdom, knowledge and understanding from God for those handling the economy.

He prayed: “Those who have made it their stock in trade to run against economic policy of this nation be run out of business.”

Two lesbian teachers caught half-naked in a classroom

Lesbian Teacher

Two women teachers caught in a half-naked clinch in a darkened classroom were not bad role models, a judge said.

A handyman found married Alini Brito, 30, topless on the floor with Cindy Mauro, 34, kneeling between her legs at a school nicknamed Horndog High.

Brito later claimed she had collapsed with a diabetic attack and was being given sugar to boost her glucose levels.

Spanish tutor Brito was suspended for a year by the New York school and French teacher Mauro for two years.

But a judge has dismissed a ruling that Mauro “failed as a role model” and cut her suspension to a year.

The judge said: “The activities, sexual in nature, between two consenting adults involved no students.”

The teachers were caught in the steamy tryst after sneaking off from a student singing competition in another part of the school.

You won't believe this, Brie Larson is 'Captain Marvel'

Marvel Studio
Marvel has made it official: Academy Award-winning actress Brie Larson will play Captain Marvel in the studio's first female-led film.

Marvel made the announcement Saturday night during a panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Shortly after, Larson herself tweeted, "Call me Captain Marvel."
Larson has been rumored to be taking the part since June. The superheroine role will mark quite a change for the indie darling actress, who won an Oscar for her portrayal of a woman held captive with her young son in 2015's "Room."

It wasn't always clear the film would center on a female iteration of the Captain Marvel character -- an Air Force officer who acquires superpowers. Then in 2014, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige put speculation to rest at a publicity event when he said "I want to make it very clear: This hero's name is Carol Danvers."

The standalone Captain Marvel film is being planned for the third phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is currently set to debut in March 2019.

The Evil of Envy - Pastor W.F Kumuyi

Daily Manna Devotional 24th July 2016
    Sunday, 24 July 2016

    Topic: The Evil of Envy

    Text: John 11:47-57

Key Verse: "Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles" (John 11:47).

Envy is a deep seated vice that cannot be easily tamed by anyone. It takes the grace of God and the determination of the heaven-bound saints to rid themselves of this negative mindset. On hearing about the popularity of Christ's ministry, the priests and members of the sect of the Pharisees gathered together to plot against Him out of envy.

They were amazed and worried about the many miracles of healing and supernatural deliverances taking place. And when the miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead took place, they were completely pushed to a corner. These religious bigots became troubled because something good was happening for which they were not in a position to take credit. They had taught error and fed the people with a doctrine that could not save because it was essentially a cocktail of the damnable traditions of elders. Many of those who are in so-called God's service are doing so out of envy of the few who are genuinely serving God.

They assume that because of the reverence and awe accorded these saints of God, they believe in their erroneous mind-set that they too could hit the limelight by preaching false doctrines and topics that catch the fancy of their adherents. And just as the machinations of Theudas and Judas of Galilee came to naught, so shall these merchant men, in the garb of pastors and preachers, eventually head for the rocks. Envy and jealousy are twin evils that must never be once named among saints. If you have noticed a trace of either of these evils, you must give yourself no rest until you have prayed them out of your life, for the unrighteous shall never inherit the kingdom of God.

Thought for the day: The bile of envy is as poisonous as a snake bite.

Breaking: 62 Students arrested for treason following failed military coup

A total of 62 Students of Kuleli Miltary School in Istanbul have been arrested for treason
A total of 62 students at Kuleli Military school, the oldest such establishment in Istanbul, were collared by Turkish authorities.

Before the coup attempt last week, the pupils, aged between 14 and 17, were made to dress up in camouflage and were handed guns with empty magazines, according to their lawyers.

The children have been taken to prison and not allowed to speak to their parents as they were accused of treason against the Turkish State.

The mum of a 15-year-old boy caught up in the arrest, Emre, while waiting for news outside Istanbul’s Maltepe Prison said: “Our child has never held a gun before.

“They were used, they were forced to do this.”

The incarcerated kids families and lawyers fear their sons could be denied a fair trial due to mass purges in Turkey’s judiciary and anti coup protesters hunger for vengeance.

Emre’s terrified mother said the boys were subjected to a mass preliminary hearing in just one crowded courtroom which their families were barred from entering.

She added: “They got just two to three minutes to testify.”

Outside the prison, the dad of a locked up 14-year-old student says he has not been allowed to speak to his boy since last Friday when they were both at the school’s “cocktail party”.

He said: “Our son went to this school because he loved Atatürk and it was his decision to enrol.

“We have nothing to do with Gülen’s organisation.

“We have no sympathy for them.”

Interrupting his wife added: “They are just children.

    “They are innocent.

“The state needs to separate the guilty ones from the innocent ones.”

The Overcomers - Pastor E.A Adeboye

    Open Heavens 24 July 2016

    Topic: The Overcomers

Memorise: For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world, and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.1John 5:4

    Read: 1 John 5:1-6 (KJV)
1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.

Bible in one year: Philippians 1-4, Psalms 18:43-50

Many people do not know how to overcome. This is the reason why they run from pillar to post, looking for protection against the attack of the agents of destruction. The Bible says:

“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”
    Hebrews 2:14-15

It is needless to run helter-skelter in search of protection. As a matter of fact, there is no other source of protection than Jesus Christ. Our memory verse for today affirms that whoever is born-again overcomes the world through faith in the Son of God, Jesus Christ. The questions now are: what does it mean to be born-again and how can you be born-again?

To be born again, according to John 3:3-5, is to be transformed supernaturally by the Spirit of God when we admit to our sins, confess them, forsake them and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. When we experience this transformation, we become children of God. In other words, we become His favourites and He will begin to watch over us. Then, the promise of Jesus concerning protection will be fulfilled in our lives. He said:

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
    Mark 16:17-18

However, to be born of God demands some things from us. The Bible says in our text for today that the only way to know we are born of God is when we keep commandments. Jesus said:

“…. If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him”
    John 14:23

To be born of God is to keep His commandments. This is contrary to some counterfeit Christians of the present age. You cannot continue committing sin and claim that you are born again. Another obligation of someone that claims to be a child of God is that he or she must keep himself or herself pure (1st John 3:3).

    The Bible says
“Wherefore he is able to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them”
    Hebrews 7:25

Beloved, there is abundant safety in Christ, come to Him with a strong determination to go with Him all the way; you will not be disappointed.

    Prayer Point:
Father, please make me an overcomer today and forever.

Leave the past behind - Kenneth Copeland

    Leave the past behind
    Sunday, 24 July 2016

    Topic: Leave the past behind

But this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
    Philippians 3:13-14

Spiritual bumps and bruises. Inner aches and pains that just don't seem to go away. Most all of us know what it's like to suffer from them but too few of us know just what to do about them.

We limp along, hoping somehow those hidden wounds will magically stop hurting, thinking that maybe (with a little extra sleep or an extra helping of dessert) that nagging sense of depression will finally disappear.

But does it ever happen that way? No!

    I know. I've been there.

But thank God, I'm not there anymore. You see, over the past few years, I've faced some fierce spiritual battles. And I've found out those battles can leave you bruised and beat up on the inside just as surely as a fistfight can leave you bruised and beat up on the outside.

Before I was born again, I learned just how physically devastating a real slug-it-out kind of brawl could be. Yet as bad as I felt, a few days rest would take care of me.

The healing of a bruised and beaten spirit, however, doesn't come that easily. In fact, the passing of time often worsens this condition. The reason is this: Instead of putting painful failures behind us, we often dwell on them until those failures become more real to us than the promises of God. We focus on them until we become bogged down in depression, frozen in our tracks by the fear that if we go on, we'll only fail again.

But there is a way out. If depression has put you into a spiritual nose dive, all you have to do to break out of it is to get your eyes off the past and onto your future—a future that's been guaranteed by Christ Jesus through the exceeding great and precious promises in His Word.

Chances are, that won't come easily to you at first. Your mind has probably had years of practice in focusing on the past. Like an old horse that habitually heads for the barn, your thoughts will probably start galloping in that direction every time you give them any slack.

So, don't give them that slack. Keep the reins tight. Purposely meditate on the Word of God. Replace thoughts of the past with scriptural promises about your future and be diligent about it. Then, instead of being a wounded soldier, you'll become the conquering warrior God made you to be.

Prophetic Impartation - Dr. Paul Enenche

    Seed of destiny devotional
    Sunday, 24 July 2016

    Topic: Prophetic Impartation

SCRIPTURE: Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. – Acts 4:13

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A man without a pastor is a man without a pasture and a man without a prophet is a man without profit.

Prophetic impartation is the transfer of spiritual virtues from the vessel of higher concentration to the vessel of lower concentration through the administration of the power, principles and the presence of God without diminution or reduction in the quality and quantity of the former.

Genuine pastors, spiritual fathers and prophets are the channels of Divine prophetic impartation. That is why a man without a pastor is a man without a pasture; a man without a father is a man without a ladder; a man without a prophet is a man without profit.

So, a genuine man of God has the capacity to pull out greatness that has hitherto been locked up or that did not even exist before in a person. He can bring out some-entities from a nonentity. It is like Moses hitting the rock and water coming out (Numbers 20:11).

Now, these are the keys to prophetic impartation:
    1. Value for God and His prophet.
    2. Hunger/desperation
    3. Connecting via prophetic seed

By the prophetic mantle of God on my life, I prophesy upon you, greatness is coming out of you, every hidden potential in you shall erupt in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: A man without a pastor is a man without a pasture and a man without a prophet is a man without profit.

    1. Peradventure you do not have a pastor or prophet over your life, ask God to give you one.
    2. Determine to be ruggedly connected to the prophet God has given you for your full profiting

PRAYER: LORD, I make demands on Your Grace for proper connection and collection of the full benefit of a prophetic impartation in Jesus’ Name.
