Jonas angry with friend Lovato after punching someone

Jonas Tour
Jonas and Lovato are “friends with (career) benefits” on the latest cover of Billboard magazine.

Here’s what the longtime friends, tourmates, and business partners had to share with the mag:

Nick on Demi leaving the 2010 Jonas tour after punching a dancer: “That we were going to get sued. I mean, it was bad. On top of losing a friend, we have seven dates left, it’s a big production, people are expecting to see Demi and that’s not going to happen. I was angry…”

Demi on leaving Disney: “We joked around that it was Disney High, except we all were shooting shows and really overworking. I joke that I sometimes have PTSD after leaving the channel, because if my schedule starts to get too busy, I rebel and I get bitchy…”

Demi on standing up for Ariana Grande at Mariah Carey’s expense: “I’m sure she’s sitting on diamond records not giving a f– what I have to say. That’s fine. I don’t even give a f– what I have to say. That’s why I just say it.”

Fayose is not aware of suit file by Aisha Buhari - Ozekhome

Aisha Sue Fayose for allegation
Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), Counsel for Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose says his client is not aware of the suit reportedly filed against him by wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha.

Mrs Aisha Buhari, it was learnt, had dragged Fayose to court for repeatedly alleging that she was one of those indicted for involvement in the multi-million dollars Halliburton scandal.

An online medium, Premium Times, had on Wednesday reported to have obtained a copy of the July 20, 2016 suit which Aisha filed against Fayose.

But the governor’s lawayer, Ozekhome, told our correspondent, in a text message on Thursday, that his client had not been served with Aisha’s court papers.

He, however, said he was eagerly waiting to be served with the court papers, saying the suit would answer questions on the legality of suing a governor who had immunity under Section 308 of the 1999 Constitution.

He said, “We have not been served Mrs. Aisha Buhari’s writ against Governor Fayose. We are waiting for this legally and jurisprudentially titillating and ground-breaking suit that will open up new vistas and rip open the yet undiscovered entrails of Section 308 of the 1999 Constitution, which grants immunity to the President, Vice-President, governors and deputy governors.”

The President’s wife had on many occasions denied involvement in the Halliburton scam with a threat to sue Fayose if he did not stop dragging her into a fraud she claimed to know nothing about.

A former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Lamorde, had also declared that Aisha was not one of Nigerians mentioned in the scam or indicted for the scandal.

The EFCC investigated the scam during Lamorde’s tenure as the anti-graft boss.

But in spite of these, Fayose had insisted that the President’s wife was involved in the fraud in which Nigeria lost huge sums of money, alleging that the Federal Government’s anti-corruption war was selective and politically-motivated.

The governor claimed that Aisha Buhari was named in a document that stated she was one of those indicted in the celebrated scandal.

Dialogue between Govt and Niger Delta Militants are on-going, Buhari confirms

Dialogue between federal govt and Niger Militants ongoing
The Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari Thursday in Abuja said that his administration was talking to Niger Delta militants through oil companies and law-enforcement agencies to find a lasting solution to insecurity in the region.

The President was speaking during a farewell audience with Mr. Michael Zinner, the outgoing Ambassador of Germany to Nigeria at the presidential villa, spokesman Garba Shehu said in a statement.

Mr. Buhari told the ambassador that his government was studying the instruments of the Amnesty Programme inherited from the previous administration with a view to carrying out commitments it made that were undelivered.

“We understand their feelings,” the President said. “We are studying the instruments. We have to secure the environment, otherwise investment will not come. We will do our best for the country," he affirmed.

President Buhari used the opportunity to thank the government of Germany for its continuing support of Nigeria in the efforts to tackle insecurity and the on-going rehabilitation and resettlement of displaced citizens in crisis areas in the North-Eastern parts of the country.

He also thanked Nigeria’s neighbours for their firm and unflinching support in the war against terror.

Mr. Zinner, in his comments, noted that bilateral relations between Nigeria and Germany have improved very much since the beginning of the Buhari administration.

He expressed the readiness of Germany to assist Nigeria in the rehabilitation process in the North East to help displaced persons return to their villages. He also expressed the eagerness of German businesses to invest in the country, as “conditions for investment have been put in place”.

The outgoing German Ambassador reiterated the standing invitation of Chancellor Angela Merkel to President Buhari to visit Germany.

Funny things Nigerians do on plane will amaze you

Funny things Nigerians do on plane
Change they say is a constant thing. But for Nigerians, they will always be Nigerians. There are certain traits peculiar to these Nigerians. A good example is the hilarious things they do when they board planes. Whether you are boarding a flight from Lagos or Kano, you must have noticed these shenanigans. If you have not, Jumia Travel, Africa’s No 1 hotel booking portal identify 5 interesting yet annoying things Nigerians do on planes.

1.Boarding before group number is called

Most airlines have a system for getting hundreds of passengers on board as quick as possible. But, because of the Lagos traffic, you didn’t arrive on time to the airport. Fortunately for you, passengers are just boarding the plane. But you arrive there, ignored the queue and want to board to board ahead of others. You will no doubt anger other passengers waiting for their group number to be called.

2.Unrestrained baby bawling

Crying babies may be acceptable to a limit. However, when your baby keeps displaying their infantile bawling, it becomes a distraction for other passengers. Hence, take every action to ensure that your baby doesn’t cry on board.

3.Playing games without turning off the sound

This is what some Nigerians do. You are playing an exciting game on your phone or whatever handheld device and you refuse to turn off the sound. The sound may make the game exciting but remember that you are not in a private jet. Passengers will be irritated by the sound.

4.Staying in the toilet for too long

The toilet is not your bedroom, and you are not the only one using it. Others may be pressed but because you are spending too long in the toilet. Certainly, you are inconsiderate to fellow passengers who want to use the restroom.

5. Reclining your seat

Pressing the seat recline button can make the person behind you very uncomfortable. You prefer to be relaxed at the expense of others. It is such a selfish behavior that if you do it, you must stop it.

Fayose in for trouble as Aisha sue over allegation

Aisha Sue Fayose

The Nigerian President's wife, Aisha, has sued the Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, for alleging that she was one of those indicted for involvement in the Halliburton multi-million dollar scandal.

A former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Lamorde, had also declared that Aisha was not one of Nigerians mentioned in the scam or indicted for the scandal.

In response, youth of the local government area barricaded all access routes to the council Thursday morning.

“Soldiers are betrayers, we will not allow soldiers into our villages, they are aiding the killings. They were there when Danan community was set on fire, the armed men destroyed, injured and kill our people. Soldiers must go, we want them replaced with mobile police,” he said.

Four dead as police clash with robbers

The State Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) in Anambra on Wednesday killed a female suspected robber and four others in a gun duel.

The suspect, identified as Commander, was described as the kingpin of the five-man gang.

The robbers were said to be a notorious robbery and car-snatching syndicate. They were killed along Nnebis Road in Asaba, Delta State.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Ali Okechukwu, explained that the Delta State Police Command had arrested and handed over one Obisma to the Anambra Special Anti-Robbery Squad.

The PPRO said the culprit named other members and confessed to series of armed robbery and vehicle-snatching operations in and outside the state.

Okechukwu said. “Obisma led our operatives to Asaba for the arrest of his accomplices and recovery of their operational weapons.”

The PPRO said the policemen were attacked by the gang members upon arrival at the robbers’ den in Asaba.

He said during the shootout that ensued, some of the suspects were gunned down.

The PPRO said, “Some, who sustained bullet injuries during the operations, are still receiving treatment in a hospital. Efforts are on to arrest other fleeing gang members.”

Breaking: IAAF bans Russia from Rio Olympic

Russia banned from Rio Olympic

IAAF has suspended Russia's athletics federation, after an independent report found evidence of widespread doping.

The Russian Olympic Committee and 68 athletes appealed against that decision but after hearing evidence from both sides, Cas has ruled the ban can stand.

The International Olympic Committee is considering calls to ban all Russian competitors from the Olympic Games following a second report into state-sponsored doping.

"The Cas panel confirmed that the ROC is not entitled to nominate Russian track and field athletes to compete at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games considering that they are not eligible to participate under the IAAF competition rules," a spokesman said.

The IAAF said it was "pleased Cas has supported its position", saying the judgement had "created a level playing field for athletes".

IAAF president, Lord Coe, added: "This is not a day for triumphant statements. I didn't come into this sport to stop athletes from competing.

"Beyond Rio, the IAAF taskforce will continue to work with Russia to establish a clean safe environment for its athletes so that its federation and team can return to international recognition and competition."

U.S. May Not Defend NATO Allies Against Russia Attac, says Trump

The Republican presidential candidate

Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee speaks to New York Times
Billionaire praises Turkish President Erdogan in interview

Donald Trump said the U.S. would only come to the aid of NATO members attacked by Russia after reviewing whether those nations “have fulfilled their obligations to us."

Speaking with the New York Times on Wednesday, the billionaire called into question whether he would automatically extend the security guarantees that give the 28 members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization the assurance that they have U.S. military support. He specifically referred to the small Baltic states which share borders with Russia.

Trump’s comments come as President Vladimir Putin oversees the biggest Russian military build up at its western border since the collapse of communism. The Kremlin is spending 20 trillion rubles ($314 billion) on an ambitious defense upgrade through 2020, while NATO has approved plans to deploy four battalions to rotate through the region. The western alliance’s units, however, will still be dwarfed by Russia’s forces on the other side of the border.

The Diet of Fresh Word - Dr. Paul Enenche

Topic: The Diet of Fresh Word

SCRIPTURE: Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. – Jeremiah 15:16

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your spirituality is directly proportional to your word intake; low Word intake equals low spiritual intensity.

The diet of the fresh Word of God is necessary for the spiritual nourishment and health of a Christian. To take the diet of fresh Word means to be given to the studying of God’s Word daily. It is to enrich one’s spirit with the Word of God.

The truth is, a person can never be more spiritual than the revelations he gets from the Word of God. Your spirituality is directly proportional to your Word intake. Low Word intake equals low spiritual intensity.
When you are too busy for the Word of God, you are too busy to be blessed by God. This is because the Word of God is the container of the blessings of God.

You can feed directly from the Bible or from the specialized diet prepared by God’s genuine servants through audio tapes, CDs, DVDs, anointed books etc.

The Word of God sustains the depth of the spirit. Each time a person’s spirit becomes bankrupt of the Word of God, he becomes empty of depth and bankrupt of substance.

I prophesy on you fresh hunger and appetite for the Word of God. Receive the grace to encounter fresh revelations in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Your spirituality is directly proportional to your word intake; low word equals low spiritual intensity

1. Determine to have a quiet time daily especially in the morning for prayers and the study of the Word of God.
2. Embark on the schedule of reading the whole Bible within a year.

PRAYER: LORD, I thank You for Your Word to me today, deliver me from spiritual anorexia. I receive the grace, O LORD to encounter fresh revelation that will set my soul ablaze perpetually in Jesus’ Name.

The Key to Confidence - Kenneth Copeland

From Faith to Faith Devotional

Topic: The Key to Confidence

Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. -1 John 3:21-22

You can never get away with disobeying God.

Some people think they can. They think that if no one finds out about it, it won't hurt anything. After all, God is merciful. He's not going to hold it against them, right? And if no one else knows...what's the difference?

What they don't realize is that their own hearts will start giving them problems. Their own hearts will start to condemn them. Everyone else may think they're great. They may be spouting faith talk all over the place, but when they come before God in prayer, they'll be filled with doubts and fears that keep their prayers from being answered.

That's one of the reasons why it's so important to live in obedience to the Lord. A life of obedience will give you a spiritual boldness you've never had before. It will give you a boldness in prayer, a boldness in faith. It will give you a confidence toward God, as the Apostle John says, that those who are trying to get away with sin don't have.

I'm not saying that you have to be perfect—that you should never make a mistake. Just that you should walk in obedience to the light you have. Take the time to listen and be responsive to the Spirit of God. When He tells you to do something, do it.

As you do, that confidence will rise up within you. It won't be something you mentally drummed up or talked yourself into. It will just be there. Instead of being consumed with doubts and feelings that the Word of God isn't going to work for you, you'll find yourself filled with faith that it will. You'll begin to trust God and to flow with Him. You'll come to a place the Bible calls "rest in the Lord."

Remember this: Even though the eternal price for your sins has been paid, a life of disobedience will still cost you dearly. It will cost you the boldness that is rightfully yours in Jesus. It will rob you of faith and rock you with fear.

Don't let the condemnation of your heart cut your confidence short. Do the things that are pleasing in God's sight and walk tall in the kingdom of God.

Worshiping God Appropriately - Pastor W.F Kumuyi

Daily Manna Devotional

Topic: Worshiping God Appropriately

Text: Hebrews 9:1-10

Key Verse: "The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing" (Hebrews 9:8).

Many people grumble today that there are too many things they are not allowed to do in the house of God. They would rather be given the liberty to indulge in gratifying the flesh. They argue that the rules should be relaxed to allow them more freedom in the house of God.

But even in the Old Testament, God did not indulge the Israelites. He imposed a set of rules and regulations on how they should approach Him, and conduct themselves in the house of worship. The other priests and the common people had access to God only through the high priest. By this, the Holy Ghost hinted that there was yet to come, a more perfect way to worship God. The way to come is better as it would entail the sacrifice of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ.

Today, we are not bound by those rules of ceremonial cleansing nor limited on our diets, as these do not have the power to keep anyone clean permanently. It is only the blood of Jesus, shed on the Cross at Calvary that can wash away our sins. It is Jesus Christ, who is now our High Priest, that can give us the grace to go and sin no more. To be a true worshipper, admit all your sins, ask Him to forgive and cleanse you, and serve Him all the days of your life afterwards.

Thought for the day: True worship of God is through Christ.

Vital ingredients of prayer - Pastor E.A Adeboye

Memorise: And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. – Mark 11:25

Read: Mark 11:22-26 (KJV)

22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

Bible in One Year: Galatians 4-6, Psalms 18:1-19

Our Lord Jesus Christ did not only give us an outline for prayer in what is popularly called “The Lord’s Prayer” (Luke 11:2-4), He also gave us some vital ingredients of prayer. The first in our consideration is faith. The Almighty God demands that we have faith in Him. A man that prays without faith cannot get anything substantial from the spiritual exercise of prayer. When we pray, we should be assured that God is capable of doing whatever our desires are. Doubt is a grievous offence before the Almighty God. The children of Israel that doubted the capability of God were consumed by the fiery anger of the God who had been erstwhile benevolent to them, however, as many as believed in His Almightiness received great recompense for their faith.

“6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. 7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.” - James 1:6-7

Another vital ingredient of the prayer that God will answer is forgiveness. This is a two-edged sword. Blessed is he that is forgiven, sin a hindrance to prayer. Unless we are forgiven, our prayer cannot be answered. This is why our Lord Jesus put an aspect of confession of sin in the prayer outline (Luke 11:4). No matter how old we may be in the Lord, if we discover any sin ranging from lying, outburst of unwarranted anger etc in our lives while we are getting set to pray, we must confess that sin first. The Bible says:

“8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” - 1 John 1:8-9

On the other hand, our Lord Jesus Christ said:

“And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” - Mark 11:25

Many of us come to the throne of mercy without the milk of mercy in our hearts. We come for mercy while we are not merciful; we come for forgiveness and we are not forgiving. What an irony? In Matthew 18:32-35, our Lord told the parable of the wicked servant who jailed his fellow worker that owed him a little after he himself had received pardon for a greater debt. His forgiving spirit made him forfeit the pardon for the debt he earlier received. Beloved, let us cultivate the habit of forgiving one another, at least for the fact that our Father in Heaven forgives every of our sins.

Prayer Point: Father, please increase my faith and put in me the spirit that freely forgive.
